The winds of change are blowing A Pleiadian Message

by Christine Day Beloved ones, we greet you. Right now, at this very moment in time, you can move into your place of power by reclaiming consciously that which is rightfully yours. The energy of “this moment” carries a sacred timing for a series of energetic blessings to be bestowed upon you. Through your heart, you are able to receive and open into these blessings, which are an aspect of your heritage light. There have been a series of layered, dimensional light frequencies flowing onto the planet since late February. They carry within them the sacred design to move humanity to another place of consciousness. These energies have been bestowed to humanity at this time to enable each one of you to enter a higher realm of connection to Self through the conscious action of receivership of these blessings. The winds of change are blowing gently across your planet. At the beginning of this month, expanded dimensional settings have begun to create a vibrant flow of light onto your Earth plane. This flow is designed by nature to build in intensity to support humanity by creating adjustments within the human consciousness. These alignments will bring you into a greater awareness and enlightened understanding of your ultimate role as a human being on the planet. These energies have been set up to create an energetic womb that you can adjust and operate within your heart/Home space more easily to access these blessings. Space of clarity These light settings have been crafted to break down the dense cycle of perpetuating the separation on your planet that has been in place for lifetimes. These energies are designed to move you into a more conscious level of actively changing within your human life. You will first be repositioned energetically through the light settings, and then this dimensional movement will take you into a space of clarity. This process can be likened to moving through a doorway into another reality beyond the density, where you enter into a state of being able to let go of THE EDGE MAGAZINE 763.433.9291 P.O. illusion. You will find the old armoring within you simply falling away. This release of old barriers will bring you to an aspect of completion within. With these separating elements no longer in place, you will naturally align to a more complete connection to your Home space, which resides within your heart. The sacred design of this time is to bring to a close the level of separation so there can be a reopening of your heart — so your heart can return to its originally designed role as a natural receiver. This allows you to re-access the sacred aspect of Self and be in full receivership of these blessings that are being bestowed to humanity at this juncture.

Let go of the past We speak again of the importance of letting go of the past traditions, deep-rooted patterns of behavior and the rituals you have created within your life so that you can move into a more authentic and loving relationship with your human aspect. This will allow yourself to move into a profound space of respect and love for all that you have chosen to experience in this lifetime. The key to receiving these blessings is the selfacceptance of all aspects of the life you have led, the steps you have taken and all the idiosyncrasies that make up who you are in this moment. This is how you claim your place fully within this changing realm on your Earth plane. Through this conscious choice of self-acceptance of all of your creations, of all experiences in this incarnation, you finally move yourself out of being the victim. You bring yourself back to living and being the creator of your world. As you choose to move into this Truth, your heart will automatically transform energetically. As you own your creation experience, the cells of your heart link deeper to your channel of the Home space. The heart has been designed as a multidimensional vehicle that has a powerful aspect of receivership. The transformation of your own heart will allow you to become a natural receiving station for all that your heart desires. Within these new connections to your heart/   see WINDS OF CHANGE on p. 8

‘Phenomenon of Healing’ film highlights possibilities for all Healing on the spiritual path — also from incurable ailments — for many people sounds too good to be true. However, the impressive documentary film, The Phenomenon of Healing — The Worldwide Activities of the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends, shows that this is possible after all. Extraordinary healings by Bruno Groening made headlines around the world in the 1950s. When he died in 1959, many believed that this phenomenon had ended. However, even today, by following his teaching, people are experiencing many medically-inexplicable healings. Through Bruno Groening, Grete Haeusler personally experienced healing of three ailments that were considered incurable. To Grete Haeusler’s surprise, she noticed that healings occurred even after 1959. In 1979, she founded the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends, which has become one of the largest associations in the world devoted to healing on the spiritual path. In May 2013, the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends received the Peace Pole Award from the World Peace Prayer Society, which is affiliated with the United Nations . A growing number of doctors have become aware of these occurrences through their healed patients. In 1992,

doctors and other healing practitioners founded the Medical Scientific Group within the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends. Their task is to investigate reported healings — and to verify and document them using Groening corresponding reports from independent physicians. They present lectures all over the world, reaching out to inform colleagues and interested people about the healings. The documentary film retraces all these important stages. For nine years, director and screenwriter Thomas Eich and his team worked on the film’s production. The film crew traveled to all continents and interviewed Bruno Groening’s friends from 35 countries. Twenty medically documented healing reports are featured in the film. It will be presented on Saturday, April 22 from 1-7 p.m. (includes two breaks) at Carondelet Center, 1890 Randolph Ave., St. Paul. Admission is Free, donations appreciated. For more information, call 218.349.1571 and visit www. bruno-groening-film.org. a

Letter to the Editor Dear editor, I want to tell you what a terrific and insightful interview you did with Suzanne Giesemann (March 2017). Having been friends with Suzanne and her husband Ty for about five years now, I’ve read many articles about her. I can easily say yours is my favorite — especially with the way you incorporated Ty and how his journey has evolved alongside Suzanne’s. You also asked interesting, heartfelt questions that were unique compared to those typically asked. Just top notch! — Terri Horsmann, Coon Rapids, MN a 8   w w w. e d g e m a g a z i n e . n e t

Home space you will align to this new multidimensional paradigm, which is currently being reestablished on your planet. This is your time to flourish within this new energetic framework that is anchoring onto the planet. Be well in your intentions, let go and allow your heart to be like a flower, opening up fully to the sun, to the brilliance of Self. This powerful frequency of light carries all the completed aspects of full receivership for you to become within your Heart. Letting go is a key factor to aligning through these adjustments within you. As these new frequencies flow onto the planet, they bring with them levels of release and liberation for humanity. A constant process of shifting will take place throughout April and all of May. To support this inner process, you need to consciously choose this action of receivership, opening up into an inner desire of reconnection to that which is a natural part of you. This is the time for the action of reconnection and commitment by you, for you to initiate this process of your completion by anchoring your awareness within your heart/Home space. Through this specific transitional process there is a destiny link. You have pre-agreed to participate now in the transmutation of your heart cells to link you back into your Home space. Whether you remember this agreement or not is immaterial, for you are on the pathway to Home and nothing will stop this process. We liken this to a roller coaster ride; you cannot get off the ride once it has started!

Unveil the Truth These further unfolding changes and adjustments within the planet will birth forth a remembering, a deepening of understanding of Self. This time is designed to unveil Truth, bringing insights of the inner dynamics that are operating within you. You are ready for this change. Energetic adjustments already have been made through your systems to enable you to fully align and utilize this new dimensional phase, which has already begun to support you in this awakening. With this shift in awareness, your whole energetic system will move into a different rhythm, aligning to the pulses of the higher dimensional settings of Self. We will be transmitting a series of energies to adjust your energetic field to support these changes within you over the next 12 weeks. There will be an ongoing building of alignment energies moving within you. This unfolding carries the full energy of a birth and you are going to be entering a deep and powerful conscious process. During this next phase of transformation on your planet, any resistance to this flow will impact all aspects of your life and you will experience an acceleration of the drama. Know that birthing can be intense and uncomfortable, especially if it is resisted. There will be moments of “not knowing,” and moments of “remembering.” Keep letting go and allowing your own unfolding process, whatever form it needs to take. Know that all is in hand as you move into this new and powerful energetic terrain within you and on your   see WINDS OF CHANGE on p. 10

Grounding: bringing your soul in by Patrice Connelly Second of a 3-part series Grounding through the lower chakras or energy centers brings our soul closer into our bodies. For grounding to be really effective, we need to consciously call ourselves in by name, coming down through the top of our head crown center (seventh Chakra), down through the sixth chakra, the third eye, the seat of clairvoyance, down through the fifth chakra, the communication center and into the back of our hearts, the home of our souls. The clearer the pathway through these upper chakras for the soul to pass through to the heart, the more access to solutions we have for any problems we face. When we are fully present in our hearts and the grounding energy is flowing, we become the divining rod between Earth and Spirit in physical presence. By calling ourselves in, we also place ownership on our physical, emotional and mental fields. We bring our authentic selves through to reign in our hearts. If, when we were growing up, we believed when our parents, teachers or clergy or other authority figures told us who to be, not seeing us in our authentic Selves, we gave up seeing ourselves in our own authenticity. We gave over our seniority to them and began to believe in our inauthenticity. Our beliefs in those lies damaged our seventh chakra, our head crown centers. Experiencing pain, in and of itself, does not damage us. It slows our growth. What damages us is the pain that comes from believing in the lies. Deep down we know the truth of ourselves. At any moment in our lives we can give away our seniority to another person or groups of people who are eager to tell us what’s best for us without experiencing us for who we truly are and we allow it. Yet, every time we consciously call ourselves in by name to come down into our head crown centers and run the grounding energy up, we heal some of that

damage. The more we do so the more we heal and the more we have our authentic Selves present to us. Some people, because of this damage, only come in as far as the sixth chakra and then bounce out again. It’s too painful for them to be in their bodies. A tug and pull gets set up between the body and the soul. The soul won’t come in all the way; the body kicks the soul back out when it does want to come in and it runs the programs or dynamics that already exist in the physical field. Grounding provides a safe means to allow the soul to come all the way into the heart without an agenda. It takes practice and patience, yet the rewards are priceless. There is such a lovely experience when the energy from the Earth actively comes up into the body, moving through the lower chakras like liquid honey or like liquid light, to meet and mingle with our soul light coming down, illuminating the upper chakras. This takes practice, yet there hasn’t been anyone who hasn’t experienced something of this from the first time they did it: a feeling of warmth, a tingling, and an acknowledgement of Self. We cannot fully embody what we want to create inwardly or outwardly — shifting out of our negative patterns or creating out in the world — unless we are present with ourselves. So let’s take ourselves through a grounding practice: Breathe. Bring the Earth energy that belongs to each one of you by right of body up into your feet, your legs, knees, thighs and into the base of your spine. Then, being aware of your breath, call your soul in by your names to come down in through your head crown centers, down through your sixth chakra, bringing yourselves fully into your fifth chakra, being aware of your wisdom, your truth, and your grace, then bring yourselves into the back of your hearts, the home of your souls. Spend a few quiet moments experiencing being the divining rod between Earth and Spirit. This becomes an optimal

planet. We will witness and energetically support you as you birth. This whole transformation process we speak about is simply “a moment” in our timeframe. We ask you to be willing to step forward now in your space and time on Earth. Only you can make this transition; we cannot do this for you. Humanity must be the ones to liberate themselves through this dimensional shift. This is your journey and your sacred timing. There is something held within your heart cells that recognizes the sacred timeframe that you need to follow. Those of you on the path: carry that element within you of “knowing.” We ask you to step gently, with your awareness, towards your heart and feel the rightness of this moment for change. 1 0   w w w. e d g e m a g a z i n e . n e t

time to ask your soul for solutions to whatever problems you are currently facing. The trick is to stay present quietly waiting for your answers. They may come right away or it may take a few hours or days for them to come forward. They will come. There is a Universal Law that states: when we work with what we get, we’ll get more to work with. If you work with the answers you get, the more your soul will provide you the solutions you take the time and space to ask for. At the end of the grounding practices, instead of jumping up and running off to do the myriad of things we all have to do, remain as you are for a moment more and ask yourselves: What does my body need? Follow that question by asking: What does my soul want? Please wait for the answers! These responses usually come in very quickly. The answers may vary widely between soul and body, because soul wants to go 2,000 miles an hour and our bodies want to go two miles per hour. That’s okay. If we do not give ourselves the space to receive our own answers, we effectively cut off communication from ourselves creating more of the tug and pull between our body and soul, creating disharmony we want to avoid. To be present in ourselves and with others is the greatest gift we have to offer. It is a reciprocal enrichment for all who experience it. Our presence within ourselves is the true meaning of freedom. And we can get there by consciously practicing grounding. a Patrice Connelly has worked in the Twin Cities as a Practical Visionary for 35 years teaching an Intuitive Development Course, through private readings and through one-on-one sessions integrating Soul, Mind and Body. There is the necessity for collective groups to be formed to hold a platform between you for this changing frequency to anchor fully. You have the month of April to anchor the dimensional coordinates for this transitional shift to take place. The formation of these coordinates is to be created through the community groups that form in a union. Your collective energetic signatures merging together in communion create the coordinates for the platform. There are many of you who have pre-agreed to play this role of creating these energetic coordinates for humanity. However things appear on the planet within this third-dimensional illusion at this time, know that this does not truly reflect and does not affect what is taking place within the higher dimensional levels on your Earth plane. The drama will continue to unfold and, simultaneously, Earth will continue to move through a transition   see WINDS OF CHANGE on p. 15

by Betsy Whitfill for Share International We have entered the Age of Aquarius. No longer is it possible to sustain the old ways of living created under the influence of the receding energies of the Age of Pisces. Misuse of those Piscean ways, idealistic but competitive, have brought our planet and our civilization to the very edge of self-destruction, and as the nursery rhyme goes, “All the kings horses and all the king’s men cannot put Humpty Dumpty together again.” Historically, at the beginning of every new age, God sends a teacher to humanity to show the way forward. Krishna, in the Bhagavad Ghita, said, “Whenever there is a withering of the law and an uprising of lawlessness on all sides, then I manifest myself. For the salvation of the righteous and the destruction of such as do evil, for the firm establishing of the Law, I come to birth age after age.” That time has come again. Share International offers information about the return to the everyday world of our elders, those perfected beings who once were where we are, lived lives just like our lives, yet evolved spiritually so high that we call them Masters of Wisdom. They have mastered themselves and the forces of nature. They no longer have anything further to learn from Earthly life, but have remained to guide and teach us. They know our problems, individually and as a group. They also know the solutions by which we can, if we will, resolve the many crises and rebuild our world. They wish to show us the way to create a new civilization based on the brotherhood of man and the sharing of Earth’s resources among all people. At their head is the World Teacher for this new Age of Aquarius, the Lord of Love awaited by various names (the Christ, the Imam Mahdi, Krishna, the Messiah, the 5th Buddha Maitreya Buddha) by all the traditions, religious and nonreligious. His personal name is Maitreya, the “Happy One.” Although many do not know His name, their hearts have called to God for help, comfort, hope and healing. God has sent Maitreya in response to those calls, carrying the waters of life that heal bodies, minds and spirits. For more than 30 years, Share International magazine has published ongoing details of Maitreya’s emergence, the hundreds upon hundreds of miracles that announce His presence, reports from hundreds of people who have personally

met Maitreya and the Master Jesus, with whom He works hand in hand. Research into the Share-International. org website archives will produce a mountain of fascinating evidence, pictures and articles that bring to light the esoteric knowledge that is the foundation of life on Earth. What has been a relatively leisurely project of informing the public for these many years now has become urgent. The Earth groans. Starvation haunts even those in highly developed nations. Pollution, nuclear and otherwise, threatens our very existence. Governments’ attempts to solve problems fail. People hide their grief in addictions and pathologies. Now is the time to become informed, and act to change the course of history. Maitreya and His group, the Masters of Wisdom, are here now, waiting only for the invitation to appear openly and begin Their mission of salvation. They know how to mop up nuclear radiation. They are building a new, pollution-free technology

of light that will serve all of our needs for energy. Maitreya will release from our eyes the blindfold of ignorance, and humanity will awaken to its true purpose and glory. But we must want what He proposes: to share Earth’s resources among all people, and save the world. In that simple principle of sharing lies the magical secret of healing and regenerating our Earth and ourselves. As yet working behind the scenes, Maitreya waits patiently for our call. a Betsy Whitfill has a B.A. in Philosophy from Wilson College in Chambersburg, PA. She is a correspondent for Share International magazine. To learn more, visit ShareInternational.org. Those attending the Fargo Holistic Expo at the Fargo Civic Center on April 22-23 have the opportunity to discuss and question Share International volunteers at booth 208, and to listen to the fascinating presentation of the history of Esotericism Sunday at 1 p.m. Copyright Š 2017. Spring cleansing for the body Food First

by Nutrition Julie As spring arrives, I am always thinking about cleansing and preparing my body for the warmer upcoming months. It’s like a spring cleaning for your body! Check out this smoothie recipe that I have created below to help you with your spring cleaning! Beets are loaded with immune-boosting vitamin C, fiber, and essential minerals like potassium (essential for healthy nerve and muscle function) and manganese (which is good for your bones, liver, kidneys and pancreas). Beets also contain the B vitamin folate, which many are deficient in. Beets are wonderful for detoxification, lowering blood pressure, reducing cancer risks and lowering inflammation in the body! The beet greens are excellent for your bones and your brain and ward off osteoporosis and Alzheimer’s! If that’s not enough for you, then add in some: wild blueberries full of anti-oxidants to help push viruses out of your body; and dates, which are naturally anti-parasitic. Add in a little healthy fat-like coconut oil for your brain and you have a recipe for health! Oh, and it tastes great, as well! This recipe was kid tested and husband approved! A Date with Beets! 1 raw beet (golden or red) (wash, remove root hairs and any damaged areas, chop into blendable chunks) Beet greens that were attached to the beet (usually about 7 or 8 leaves) 2 apples (washed and quartered) 1 cup frozen wild blueberries 5 small-medium sized dates (pitted) 1 tsp Coconut Oil 2-3 cups Water Place all of the ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth and of desired consistency. a Nutrition Julie is a Certified Holistic Health Coach and Raw Food Nutrition Educator who is passionate about nutrition, health and wellness. April horoscope: Tender crocus Mercurial Messages through the Zodiac

by Heather Roan Robbins Let’s clean our flowerbeds and rake the yard, rake our emotional issues and political secrets out of the corners and compost them. With Mercury (April 9-May 3) and Venus (March 4-April 15) retrograde, our feelings may be as tender as new crocus as we see the results of the past and remember what seeds we planted, for better or worse. We may find ourselves back at the crossroads of personal and political problems we thought we’d solved. Like a spiral, we’re a little farther along, but back at a familiar place on the circle. If we’re dealing with memories, people and problems from the past, let’s not get overwhelmed. Instead, do the work at a deeper level, more effectively, and hopefully, more permanently. A tender crocus is strong enough to return year after year, no matter how tough the winter. Our tenderness may be tested as Venus squares Saturn April 8, but we get a chance to resolve the issues around April 21. Aries (Mar. 21-Apr. 19)…Exert leadership rather than rebellion; define your own paradigm. Strong emotions may buffet your psyche but no one notices; ask for help when you need it. Confidence and action further around April 5 as Mars trines Pluto. Open up new lines of communication after April 21 when Mars enters Gemini. Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20)…This can be a souldeep month, though it may be practically frustrating. Get to unfinished business and clear up some karmic tangles April 8 and 21. Notice any fear around your future, hold it gently, but question that story. The world may feel more comfortable after April 20 when the Sun enters Taurus. Gemini (May 21-June 20)…What is truth? Your fast-paced mind can spin in circles and it’s truly important for you to want to understand the truth, rather than prove your point. After April 9, wander around, deepen your understanding of the community around you, and lay good foundations for more cooperation. Cancer (June 21-July 22)…You may feel like curling up in your own home, but if you can stay engaged, April brings opportunities hidden in temporary difficulties. Step forward and fill vacancies created by other people’s mistakes or distraction. Check in with connections from the past, see how you can be helpful in their present stress, and they will love you for it. Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)…Even though your surroundings may be tumultuous and your heart tender, you can grow by leaps and bounds. Enjoy opportunities to learn and expand your horizons. At work, help communication moves smoothly, thoughtfully and without drama. It’s unusual for

you to be the one with common sense, so shine. Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)…Notice tension around shared resources, loans, property and look to the past for answers. Don’t get discouraged; unknot one problem at a time and grow a deeper sense of your own resilience. Feel your enthusiasm return as Mercury enters Aries, trines Saturn April 24, and conjuncts Uranus April 28. Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)…Pay attention to legal and romantic matters. Emotional baggage from the past can complicate things. Do not resist or resent, just get on with the work and create space for future growth. Be responsible, but not touchy around April 8 and 21; enjoy a whiff of Spring fever April 16. Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)…As the month begins, allergies, tempers, and muscles can inflame. Stay cool, notice how small trials may build your sense of compassion. If irritated by work delays or inconsistent people April 9-15, breathe deeply and know it’s temporary. Build a better system or habit of communication to improve the problem the last week of April. Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)…If work experiences a set-back, take the opportunity to make sure everything is now done right. The real emphasis will be on your romantic, creative and family life where your kind honesty can untangle others’ misunderstanding. Say what you see and help find creative solutions around April 28. Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan.19)…Express yourself creatively, something you may not normally have time for. Stay steady in relationships; keep the heart open under duress. The more stress you feel, the more family responsibilities lean on you, the more time you need in your chosen art form. Renew and you have more to offer. Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)…Finish up work on the home front, because you’re starting a new chapter. Though themes from your past are reignited, you’re not going back to where you once were; you’re moving into a fresh iteration. Explore the neighborhood, talk to siblings and sibling-like friends with fresh eyes. Pisces (Feb. 19-Mar. 20)…Step away when people get irascible, but your empathy and understanding can soothe many a troubled beast this month. Venus in Pisces, can unnerve others with sensitivity, but you know how to handle it. April 16-24 look for opportunities to begin or deepen love relationships or creative opportunities. a Heather Roan Robbins is a heart-centered and choiceoriented astrologer, palmist and ceremonialist with 30+ years’ experience. beyond the drama. Those of you who are awake need to also move beyond this playing out of drama within your lives. Do not get sidetracked by this denser illusion and energies created by mankind. Witness but do not engage.

Making a difference From our viewpoint, we see how each one of you individually is making a difference, creating a positive impact to the planet. You are creating an essential balance to the Earth itself and within communities. We understand and witness your seeming hardships. Know that there is a sacred and essential unfolding continuing to take place within you and within the energies of the planet. You are on track and there will be a successful completion of your missions in this lifetime. Simply stay connected to your heart/Home space and continue to let go within the multidimensional settings of your heart. Do know that through all of your work on the planet, you are ultimately doing this for your own unfolding and transformation. Do not lose sight of the initial goal of Self as you work tirelessly to fulfill your aspect of the mission. Many energetic beings of light and the full universal community are supporting you. Each one of you is to play an individual role to support the completion of the awakening for the sacred union and awakening on Earth. We await your return to the collective God conscious energy of our collective resident Universe. You hold the power within your hearts. You carry the imprint of the completion energy within your multidimensional hearts. This journey is an individual and collective one. There is a pulse within this energetic light that is anchoring on the planet that is designed to call many of you together. There is to be no hierarchy among you. The real power is held between you collectively. There

is to be a simple honoring of each unique individual and what they contribute to the collective energy between the whole. Together you make the difference for this transition. Know that there will be a building of a pure force of light between you as you forge these pure alliances. Change is what you have been working towards. Each one of you is playing an individual role, and then you will collectively bring together the correct dynamic energy for this transformation of your Earth. Choosing to align within your heart/home space: 1. Hold your heart center, both palms resting on chest. 2. Consciously choosing your heart connection. 3. Breathe and let go into your heart. Anchor through your heart into the Earth, like roots of a tree going down into Earth. 4. Claim this place within the Earth, breathe and let go. 5. Now breathe into your heart, use the sound AESTEN. Keep letting go into your heart. Building your coordinates as a group: 1. Form a circle. Open to your place within the circle and let go. 2. Hold your heart center, this is your Home space. 3. Consciously claim your Heart. 4. Breathe and let go into your heart. 5. Anchor through your heart into the Earth, like roots of a tree going down into Earth. 6. Claim this place within the Earth, breathe and let go. 7. Open to the circle energy and collectively bring forth the sound ENTE ANNN. 8. Build the coordinates together, and let go. Allow a merging of energy between you. We continue to honor your path. Blessings, The Pleiadians a Christine Day is a leading spiritual teacher, healer, channel and author. Living from Your Center Within An Interview with Transformational Leader Michele Rae

by Tim Miejan Editor’s note: This interview has been edited for space. Read the full conversation at www. edgemagazine.net

Michele Rae is a transformational coach, registered pharmacist, spiritual director, organizational development consultant and college professor with more than 25 years experience inspiring and leading groups and individuals in continued development and realization of their human potential. A member of the graduate faculty at the University of Minnesota Center for Spirituality and Healing, teaching classes in mindfulness in business development and Mind-Body Science and the Art of Transformation, she specializes in organizational development and workplace enhancement. She has worked with a widely diverse array of small businesses in the service and retail sectors, including an oncology clinic, catering company, health and wellness retail, a scaffolding company, a Jiffy Lube branch, and a welding and asphalt company. She consults for large corporations including health care companies, pharmaceutical organizations and the public school system. The most rewarding part of her work is when she sits down with individuals and couples — at her personal office near the Mall of America in Bloomington — to provide coaching and mentoring, helping them to destress from chaotic situations and return to balance with authenticity in concert with their souls. She recently spoke with The Edge about her newly released book, Living from the Center Within: Co-Creating Who You Are Becoming (Paragon House Publishers), which is described as “a highly engaging, interactive, informative and accessible journey toward higher consciousness.” Michele also shared insights she has realized along the path of becoming a transformational leader for us all. Let’s begin at the beginning. When you were a little girl, what vision did you have for the person you have become? The vision that I had was not very specific. I remember I wanted to become a traveler and an explorer, and I remember I wanted to be an inventor, and I also remember simultaneously wanting to be a mother and a nun — I’m not really sure how I thought those would go together! I have really enjoyed contemplative living, even as a child, and enjoyed the thought of motherhood, so those are an interesting combina1 6   w w w. e d g e m a g a z i n e . n e t

tion of things that I’ve never thought about before, but they all ran in my dreams when I was a young girl. Were there aspects in your parents that helped lead you to the path you’re on now? I think that there’s probably both the aspect of the opportunities they provided, as well as the pieces that I didn’t want to carry forward. We grew up in the Catholic Church and I remember studying the lives of the mystics and saints and the ritual of that. As I’ve said, I’ve always enjoyed the contemplative side of life. On the other hand, my parents were very small-minded, I would say, very conservative, very much not about change and not about travel and not about being around people who didn’t think and act like they did. I think that informed my life of exploring and traveling and walking in other people’s moccasins, so to speak. What inspired you to decide to become a transformational coach? I had been always interested in coaching. As a student in the college of pharmacy, I won a national contest on patient counseling. I had really enjoyed that aspect of health care. Not long into it I’d found myself in a leadership position in a small pharmacy, and then I moved on to manage 12 states and leaders in different places around the 12-state area. Throughout that time I really enjoyed the coaching and mentoring and the human development piece of it. But around 2000 I remember people coming to me, calling me or e-mailing me saying, “My friend so and so, who knows you, says that you would be a really great person to talk to because I’ve had this experience that has pushed me past my comfort

Open house spotlights new book on April 9 The public is invited to attend an open house on Sunday, April 9, to celebrate the release of a groundbreaking book from transformational leader Michele Rae. She will present readings from Living from the Center Within: Co-Creating Who You Are Becoming (Paragon House Publishers), and sign books. The event will be from 4-8 p.m. at Metamorphosis Center, 1301 Cliff Road E, Burnsville. Michele Rae wrote this book as a call to action to awaken you to your true self. You will learn about something you always wanted to know: how to live consciously and deeply authentically. The book is now available at Amazon. For more information you can contact Michele Rae at Michele@CenterWithin.com or visit Centerwithin.com. zone and you think that would be normal.” It might have been a spiritual experience or just a new worldview experience. That was a very inspirational shift for me, to step out into the world in that way. In 2001, I started my company, The Center Within, to really own that passion I have to assist people moving through periods of transition. Describe how your business, The Center Within, reflects who you are? One of my core beliefs, both in the business and in my own life, is that we are here to be an expression of the Divine, as the saying goes. We are Spirits having a human life. One of the things that really lights me up is creating this safe and sacred space and a coaching relationship that supports my

patients, my clients, my students, as they align their personal and professional life with that inner essence. I see my clients and myself already as whole and holy. I know that I don’t always remember that perspective, and my clients don’t, as well, so my role as a coach is to call people forward into that alignment, to help them put their lives into alignment with their passions and their gifts and their talents. Part of the work of being a transformational coach is doing that in my own life. This is work that I love. There are a lot of ways to be in service, but this particular one is in alignment and resonates and helps create a life that I really love. My work in the business of The Center Within really gives me an opportunity to walk my talk every day, because there certainly are multiple times during the day where I can run up against my own resistance, my own judgments. Just like everyone else, I get triggered and fall into my own limiting beliefs, so I have to do my practice. It’s in alignment with that work, as well as on the other end of my work internally, that demands that I increase my own willingness to surrender and live a big life, to be visible, to be open, to say yes to things that light me up. It’s an inner and outer process, living more from our center within. I’m sure your clients and students would say that you inspire them. Who has inspired you in walking the journey that you are on? I have been so blessed to have several spiritual teachers in my life who have provided me with their wisdom and their compassion. I often feel like I stand on their shoulders and continue their work, because I have gained so many more levels of awareness through their teaching and having them walk me through things. They really have inspired me and encouraged me and supported me. I am in awe and hope to emulate on some level those spiritual teachers who walk among us that are far past retirement age. I looked at Thich Nhat Hanh at age 90, Barbara Marks Hubbard at 87, Louise Hay out there at 90. They redefine the idea of retiring at 62 and going to the country club. And they aren’t just doing the work in the world, they live it, you know? They embody it. It’s the difference between doing service in the world and being service in the world. What are the challenges in presenting spiritual practices and solutions with individuals and businesses who do not resonate with spirituality? What I find is that every single person resonates at some level about wanting to be their best self, living from that center within, and each person longs for some coherence and resonance in their life —

We are living amidst “ a transformative period

in human development, experiencing dramatic paradigm shifts and leaps in human consciousness itself. I invite you to participate consciously in creating who we are becoming personally, professionally and globally during this shift by living from your center within. whether it is personally or professionally. The challenge for me is in finding the language that meets them where they’re at. It starts with me being able to find the client or the work within an organization and get at that place where we can have a conversation, where I can understand their personal belief system, or the culture of an organization. Then I have to work to find that language, to open it up to spiritual principles in a language that resonates with them. For the last year or so, I have been working with a paving company that lays asphalt for roads and parking lots, and I was thinking about the tremendous transformational period they have undergone. They are shifting their culture. They’re expanding. They’re doing things differently. Some of the words that I’ve found that resonate with them are authentic communication and healthy conflict resolution and collaboration, honoring and building on the strengths, both of the individual and of the company. And we were talking about consistent accountability. I think about that in practice all the time, about problem-solving and how we do creative thinking. How do we move into inspiration and engagement and creativity? And, how do we create a well-being culture that has low stress, as much as possible, and promotes ownership and team building. Another piece I talk about is emotional intelligence, and I might not even call it that, or mindfulness, being able to be focused at work and be able to maximize and optimize your capacity for productivity. Not everyone has the same language around spirituality that I might have, but I can help them resonate with my worldview and all the same spiritual concepts. You’re an interpreter, in some respects, for these people who may not speak the same language. You are exactly right. Those are phenomenal words for it. I do feel often like an interpreter because the principles excite

me so much that I have grown to have less affinity towards any particular language. I just want to engage in the conversation. That’s exactly right. What are the key tools you use in helping others to co-create who they really are and live full out and fearlessly in concert with their souls? I find that as people expand into their own authentic self, they bump up against their constrictions, their resistance and their fears. Some of the tools I have used that help people work with their limiting beliefs and self-imposed negative talk, for instance, allow them to be able to release them. Reflection, contemplation, meditation, storytelling, art and journaling are a few that come to me. They are tools that we can use to invite our fears and our resistance and really examine them. Once we have a deeper understanding of them, most of the time we realize there is a core essence, maybe a lesson, in them for us, but mostly we learn that it’s completely made up, and we release that limiting piece. I also find, on the other side, that sometimes it is, “It can’t be that good,” or “It can’t be that easy,” or “I don’t really deserve to be that amazing.” There are tools we can use to accelerate and clarify and really brighten and enhance the parts that light us up. When I work with clients, the tools of deep listening, coming to honor our intuition and noticing synchronicity help a ton in that regard. There is a tool of appreciative inquiry to find what is working in our lives and to do more of that. In my own particular training, I have found that the ability to calm ourselves and bring ourselves into that present moment really opened my own awareness and allowed me to come into that inner essence where I can live more full out with confidence. Let’s talk about your new book, Living From The Center Within: Co-Creating Who You Are Becoming. What inspired you to write it? The book was inspired primarily by my clients and my students who were asking me for something that they can share with their colleagues or their wife or their son or neighbor. I had written pieces of it as articles before, but what they were really looking for was a guide to empowered living and mindful living. That’s one inspiration that got me started on it, and I’m also very inspired by the urgency that many people are feeling during this time of such tremendous change and uncertainty. There is a lot of fear that’s created and many people are looking for ways to not buy into the fear and find community and to be able to create sustainable and mutually beneficial systems that really hold the highest good for all beings, rather than curl back in and A p r i l 2017

feel this need to be guarded and protected and defended, because that is the place fear pulls us back into. The heart of this book is the love I have to be love in action, in whatever way I can help people find a way to be of service through the expression of their Divine essence in the world. I think that is compelling every system, every institution, throughout the world to find new ways to be, whether it’s health care or business or education or finance or economics or politics or energy or religion. Brilliant people are out there saying, “Well, this is not working and I’m not going to bang my head against this wall. We’re just going to invent a different system that is much more.” That is so inspiring to me, to be part of that conversation. I really find that people who can live with that higher level of consciousness, higher awareness, have more access to the subtle energy. It is like the Mozarts and Einsteins of the world who were totally present in their genius and could tap into that big field of consciousness and get the understandings and the gestalts, outside of time and space. Mozart described being able to hear the entire orchestra in a nanosecond. I feel like there is an opening, a higher level of vibration of energy, that is available on the planet these days, and there is more genius to be discovered. Those of us who are interested in feeling into that inner-connected web of consciousness and understanding things at a totally different level have the ability to bring it back into our lives, personally and professionally. That totally inspires me. For those people who may not be in the position of seeing you personally, what can they do if they feel like they are being constricted in that fear rather than stepping out to who they really are? What would you recommend that they can do on a daily basis? I recommend a daily practice of whatever you are called to do. For me, it starts with the breath. Just to be able to pay attention. The process involves noticing as soon as possible when you start to move into that constriction. That’s actually a Jan Adams teaching. She said that sense of fear, that sense of constriction, comes first as just a little whisper. Try to catch it there. If you don’t catch it there, it will come as a tap on the shoulder, and if you don’t catch it there, it will come as a slug in the arm, and if you don’t catch it there, it will come as a 2x4. So use your self-awareness to assess your current condition, and once you catch it as soon

as you can, then apply a practice of some kind to bring yourself back to homeostasis, back to balance, out of that stress response — whether it’s your breath, walking in nature, calling a friend, taking a hot bubble bath. Just use your five senses in the given moment to bring your attention back. The key is to know yourself, have a box of what I call transforming practices that you can rely on. Notice the stress happening as soon as you can. Apply a practice, and bring your attention back into the moment. The way we build that spiritual muscle is by practicing those skills, those transforming practices, at times we set aside for ourselves. Maybe it is going to yoga class, or going to Common Grounds to meditate in the morning, or maybe it’s taking a walk in the woods or reading sacred text or being in community, intentionally with people who are like-minded. That way, when those times come up when you do get caught in the fear, you have a physical, mental and emotional practice that you can rely on to bring yourself back. Is there anything we haven’t talked about that you’d like to share with our readers in conclusion of this interview? The highest contribution any of us can make to creating who we are becoming is really living your own life in alignment with what really makes your heart sing. When we live in that alignment, there is a rush of magic and miracles that comes our way. Notice the subtle energies, those sensations, in your body early on about what constricts and expands you, feel the resistance, bring your awareness to it and be able to allow it to pass. Focusing on inner peace creates outer peace, and that gives us the ability to not be so judgmental and allow other people to have their own process, to know they are on their own journey and to move away from feeling like we have to impose our rightness, any spiritual arrogance, on anyone else. We can speak our own truth and live by example. I do think that now is the time and we are the ones we have been waiting for. Our ancient teachings envelop the urgency of today, of our moment in history. a For more information on Michele Rae, visit Centerwithin.com. Tim Miejan is editor and co-publisher of The Edge. Sacred wellness Spirit Leaves

by Janet Michele Red Feather Long ago, Native People lived the natural way. There was no need for pills, clinics, physicians or apothecaries. Now and then, their bodies would experience pain or imbalances. When that happened, the people had natural medicinals in the form of plants. The land itself was the clinic, and the only payment required was tobacco. The physicians were medicine men and women who worked with the Spirits, the true apothecaries, to help heal people. We have since distanced ourselves from the natural way of life. Fortunately, we have alternative medicine practitioners trained in ancient modalities. While we may feel external support necessary at times, we can undertake the journey of self-healing daily. Healing the body begins with focused mind-body communication. Attune to parts of the body demanding attention. There’s a subtle stage of communication that occurs even before the more desperate cry of pain. Aches or stiffness should be inventoried. Illness is metaphor; so each complaint or chronic condition represents something in need of adjustment on the other auric energy levels. I like Louise Hay’s metaphysical diagnostic dictionary at the back of her seminal work, You Can Heal Your Life. I try attuning to complaints and respond with affirmations or palliative measures to help the imbalanced part. It is far better to respond early and cumulatively so that you’re not left with surgical intervention as the only viable option. The message you relay back to your body seals the mind-body connection. Lately, there’s been a bout of flu on the campus where I teach. Each night, I have Echinacea tea (purple cone flower),

and I mix “Airborne” into my bottled Fiji water. Between the healing plant and vitamins in the Airborne tablet, I alert my brain that I have shored up my immunity. When I sneeze in public, I affirm, “Good. Sneezing is the first line of defense.” I don’t say to myself, “Uh-oh, I’m getting sick.” Stay confident and positive — even when the mighty have fallen. It is vital, of course, to solidify and protect the auric body, as well. When traveling in public, do one of the exercises from books or tapes for sealing the auric field. The stress of social situations can wreak havoc with your energy fields. Visualize surrounding yourself in an egg-shaped, translucent container of white and gold protective light. Respect your own needs in personal situations; avoid absorbing obligations or burdens that aren’t your own. I’m not advocating for narcissism; of course we care for others. We need, however, to replenish our own energy if we want to have something left to offer. Drinking tea every night is a simple self-care ritual to indulge. Chamomile and lavender support repose. Washing the feet before going to bed is recommended: doing so ensures a peaceful, restful time. Reading spiritual treatises at night helps keep your thoughts in a positive place as you enter the dreamtime. Keep a notepad and pen on the night stand to record dreams. Humbly ask the Guides to show you beautiful spiritual dreams from which you can heal and grow. A crucial piece in my own journey of self-healing has been striving for strength and honesty. Living authentically, consistent with who I am inside, is the best medicine. I try every moment to live authentically. I am more honest with myself about   see Sacred on p. 20 A p r i l 2017

how I feel in every situation. I’ve learned to pause and show deference to the voice within before speaking or moving forward. I focus on pleasing myself rather than others; I replace fear with strength and love. Going against my intuition; doing things solely to appease others; or saying something merely because the person I’m with expects to hear it-these actions are counterintuitive and destructive to my sense of wellbeing. We need not be crass with others in order to protect our health and healing. Gentleness, kindness and compassion work best in securing a peaceful world. Healing, though, begins with honoring and respecting the self — of attuning to our own voice. I love the way Cedric tells it. In honoring the sacredness within, he reminds himself, “I am a child of the Holy Grandfathers, and I have a right to be here.” a Janet Michele Red Feather, J.D., M.A., is a ceremonial singer who has learned over 60 traditional songs in Mandan and Lakota and sings in nine different languages. A regular columnist for The Edge, she has also appeared in Psychic Guidepost, FATE Magazine and Species Link. Simple tips for self-healing by Allie Maurer Let’s face it. There are times we all need a little, or a lot, of healing. There are occasions where we don’t have the time, funds or desire to seek help from professional gifted healers, and that’s okay. Although nothing can beat that amazing feeling after an intense energy healing session, there are plenty of things we can do for ourselves to maintain us — physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually — and help mend what, at times, feels downright broken. One of the most important things is to practice self-maintenance and have a simple daily ritual in place. I try to start my mornings with mantras and affirmations as soon as I am awake enough to do so, even before I open my eyes. Then it’s on to smudging and meditation, along with crafting my favorite brew of apple cider vinegar (with the mother), local raw honey, and a couple other ingredients I always have on hand. Self-maintenance and nurturing are essential for our well-being, so just taking 15 minutes of your morning to do this can make a huge difference. A gratitude journal can be of great value in starting your day, as well. Oils, stones and herbs can play a tremendous role in self-healing. It is amazingly easy to come by high quality items to use in healing, and there is a plethora of information on how to use them. They are versatile, time tested and effective. It can be deeply restorative to soak in the tub before bed in some pink Himalayan sea salt, essential oils and a couple crystals that correspond to your ailment. This is great for the mind, body and soul! Your body is not separate from nature: in fact, it is part of it. Spending time outdoors can be enjoyable, therapeutic and transformational. More times than not we have to take time out to get back to where we belong, to Mother Earth. What we eat is a vital contribution to the maintenance of our health and an aid in healing ourselves, and our food should come from the natural world. In a society where a high

percentage of what is sold in the grocery store is not natural and has little to no nutritional value, changing what you consume can literally save your life. The best I ever felt was on the raw-vegan diet. It is my goal to get back to that. The more natural we live our lives, the more we thrive. I am a huge advocate for meditations and visualization for healing. Guided meditations on YouTube are free and numerous. If you have an issue, there is most likely a guided meditation for it, or 20 of them. By relaxing our minds and bodies while connecting to our higher self, we are capable of amazing things. Miraculous things. One way to get the most from your meditation is through yoga. I can’t tell you how many times a client’s spirit guide will deliver the message that they need yoga! Yoga is the practice of merging your mind, body and soul into balance and harmony. When that is accomplished, we have tremendous power available to us. The studies on the physical healing properties of yoga are overwhelming and the holistic healing evidence is multiplying rapidly, as well. Our bodies are designed to support and heal. Don’t underestimate your own ability to overcome. What you believe becomes your reality, and when you are in the driver’s seat of your own galaxy, you are an amazing creative force. Your body’s ability to heal itself is its birthright. Not all healing is eliminating an illness or condition. Sometimes, it is our perspective that needs healing so we can overcome by learning the lesson behind the pain and see the treasure in the darkness. Sometimes, healing is to overcome our adversity, live a life beyond our perceived limitations, and rise to inspire others. a Allie Maurer is an international Psychic Medium, Healer, Animal Communicator, Spiritual Teacher and Intuitive Life Coach. Healing a little every day by Kelly Baker

At times we can all get a little overwhelmed with what it takes to stay healthy, both physically and mentally, but if we can take it one step at a time it’s really not intimidating at all. Altering just one routine or adding something special into your day is simple and much easier than you might think. We’ve all heard the phrase “laughter is the best medicine.” It’s true. Laughter decreases stress hormones and increases immune cells. Laughter has such an intense effect on our hormones that it actually produces the “feel good” hormone known as dopamine and the “happy hormone “known as serotonin. This has a direct impact on those who suffer from chronic pain. Although the release of these hormones doesn’t change the pain level, it does alter our brain’s perception of the pain. Laughter is the clear-cut answer for self-healing. There are some basic steps that we can all take to improve the quantity of laughter in our daily lives. We can all make time for a favorite comedy television show. We can also learn to not sweat the small stuff. Sometimes something that may be perceived as stressful may not be such a big deal after all — and you can actually laugh at it. For instance, if your child or pet knocks something over and makes a mess, it’s not the end of the world. Accidents happen, and we all cause them from time to time. Instead of getting upset, just grab some cleansers and laugh at the clumsy mistake. Most importantly, get good at math. That’s right, math! Add positive people into your social circle and subtract toxic people. We all know someone who drains the energy out of the room, just as we all know someone who makes us instantly smile upon their entrance. There’s no need to feel guilty about decisions regarding your social life. It’s your life — and you need to do what makes you happy and healthy.

Many of us don’t realize how crucial it is to get a good night’s sleep. Not only do we require a peaceful night of sleep to be productive, but we require approximately eight hours. Do you think sleeping late on weekends is a good idea? It’s not. Too much sleep isn’t beneficial unless we are sick. Our bodies go into healing mode when we’re asleep. When we’re sick, we need as much rest as possible, but when we’re healthy, eight hours is all we need — and we do need it. Some great sleeping aids are lavender and chamomile teas and essential oils, either in massage oil or in a diffuser. Enjoy a nightly ritual before bedtime such as a good book or a warm, relaxing bath, unplugging at least an hour before bedtime. It’s also important to remember to avoid caffeine within six hours of bedtime and avoid late meals, because that will give you a head start on a good night’s sleep. A proper diet nurtures us, both physically and mentally. Certain ingredients in processed foods, such as sugar, cause illness and mood disorders. Find more healthy ways to get real sweeteners, such as Stevia and local honey, which is always best because it introduces us to pollen and helps us avoid seasonal allergies. Gardening is great therapy and it provides our family with fresh and organic vegetables and herbs. Our bodies crave fresh, live food — not processed food riddled with chemicals. Our brains and hormones react wonderfully to real food. Adding a bit of laughter, good quality sleep and a good diet into your life is not only simple, but it’s well worth it. You won’t be the only one who enjoys the newer, healthier you. Everyone around you will enjoy you even more than they already do. a Kelly Baker is an author and freelance writer. featuring this month: Tools for Self-Healing

Ho’oponopono and cleansing repeating patterns by Eric Putkonen At Christmas 2013, my brother-in-law gave me a copy of ZeroLimits: The Secret Hawaiian System for Wealth, Health, Peace & More, by Joe Vitale and Ihaleakala Hew Len. I had never heard of the technique before, but the book gripped me and I read the whole thing over a weekend. That book started me on a journey of practicing it and delving into the subtleties of Ho’oponopono. It has become my everyday tool for self-healing. Modern Ho’oponopono, as Hew Len teaches it, fundamentally is a prayer or petition to the Divine. The technique removes your ego from the process. It is not something you do at all, but it is done to and for you by Divinity. The technique revolves around four simple phrases. However, the power of these phrases can be felt in how each opens you and helps you release. Sometimes, opening and releasing is all you need to do to heal yourself. The four simple phrases are: • I am sorry. • Please forgive me. • Thank you. • I love you. Say each phrase aloud as a petition or prayer to the Divine. You are opening yourself up to change as the Divine sees fit in cleansing your repeating patterns. Do not say it with the purpose to change the issue or problem you have. As Hew Len teaches it, you simply ask the Divine to cleanse (through these four

phrases) the repeating memories and mental patterns within yourself that are manifesting themselves as the problem or issue you are experiencing in the world. The phrases are innocent, as well. What follows is an example. “I am sorry for not being aware of the repeating pattern within me that is manifesting as this issue. Please forgive me for not cleaning on it sooner. Thank you for this opportunity to cleanse it and thank you for relieving me of this pattern. I love you.” This is how I often think of the phrases as I say them, but you could add other contexts, as well. You could also say them in any order you wish. With each phrase, I find that I continue to open (in my being). With repentance and forgiveness there is an opening. With gratitude there is an opening. With love there is an opening. It removes barriers and helps one let go of what one has been holding onto (i.e. repeating memories and patterns). It also creates a space for change to occur. Sometimes that is all that is needed…a space for change to occur and being open to a change. In practicing Ho’oponopono, you just pray to Divinity through these four phrases. You may find that the issue or problem goes way. It may return, in which case you cleanse again. Also you may try to find the root issue, because you could be hacking away at the greenery and leaving the roots intact and so

it comes back. If an issue returns, you cleanse again. I have used the technique for all manner of daily issues or problems that are encountered in life, but I especially like using it for internal self-cleansing. Due to our cultural programming — how we were brought up and experienced life at an early age, and believed concepts that we were taught — we all suffer in varying degrees for them. Many of us feel incomplete — “I am not good enough,” “I am unworthy,” “I am worthless,” or some other negative (and untrue) phrase we tell ourselves. Over the years, I have developed a series of guided Ho’oponopono sessions to cover issues in our basic circuit imprints caused by our early conditioning. I have even taught these methods at retreats that I have attended. Everyone I have taught the technique to seems to get some value and healing from just opening up, letting go, and being open to change. Many tell me that they continue the practice this technique to this day. I do recommend learning the technique fully. Ho’oponopono works for me for selfhealing on a daily basis, and it may work for you. a Eric Putkonen started his spiritual journey in 1990. He focuses on Nonduality and Direct-Path and also practices and teaches Ho’oponopono. If you have questions or want to speak with him about Ho’oponopono (or Nonduality or Direct Path teachings), email him at eputk@icloud.com. Copyright © 2017. All Rights Reserved.
