CNA students graduate On Nov. 15, the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program at Rockingham Community College graduated 17 students from its evening program. The students began classes in August. In North Carolina, students must complete a minimum of 75 hours of CNA course work and 100

hours of clinical rotation before they are eligible to take the CNA licensing exam. All graduates of the RCC program complete those requirements prior to graduation. The graduates are: Nicole Dowless, Gabriela Eaves, Melissa Ellison, Velvecia Herbin, Holly Hockett, Amy Hundley,

Brittany Hylton, Kala Keen, Annie King, Antonette Miller, Shadarius O’Neal, Tamara Pickard, Sandra Rinehart, Debbie Stinson, Starbeth Stout, LaToya Valentine, Ciara Wiley. Instructors are Vivian Moore and Cindy Jones.

Lydia Ryan, Sarah Holmes and Lorrie Norwood attended the State 4-H Council Conference in Raleigh

State 4-H Council Conference On November 3-4, 2012, Rockingham County teen 4-Hers attended the State 4-H Council Conference held in Raleigh. Three 4-Hers; Lorrie Norwood, Lydia Ryan and Sarah Holmes attended the event with involved workshops focused on leadership skills. The workshops that they were involved in were focused on improving yourself through improvisation, teambuilding through swing dancing and also youth standing up to bullying. Along with workshops they participated in an awards banquet, dance, district meetings and state meetings

Our youth learned about new ideas and gained important leadership skills that will enable them to come back to the county and be a leader in the community! We are very proud of our Rockingham County 4-Hers for all of their hard work and representation of our county during the State 4-H Council Conference.
