LIBRARY RECEIVES 'VISION OF FA, "IMA MS. I

Rev. Thomas McGlynn, O.P., director of the Dominic< n Fatima Center, Dover, Mass., has recently placed the original manuscript oF his well-known work, VISION OF FATIMA, in the Marian library. We are grateful to Fr. McGlynn for the addition to our manuscript collection. VISIC.N OF FATIMA tells the story of the author, a priest-sculptor who went to Fortugal to make an authentic statue of Our lady of Fatima. He had the ur; :que privilege of a tenday visit with lucy dos Santos, and during that time,. designed a new statue under her direction.

Father McGlynn is leaving shortly for Portugal anc Italy to carve a large statue (from the "original model) which will be pl:~ced in the Basilica at Fatima.

NEW IMAGE BOOK!, On February 13, Doubleday released eight new 1: nage books, including two titles which won Marian library Medals in 19!;2 and 1953: Fulton J. Sheen's, THE WORLD'S FIRST LOVE (237p., 75¢) and LIGHT ON THE MOUNTAIN by John S. Kennedy (195p., 65¢).

MAIHOLOGY- Volume 3 The first volume of the three-volume MARIOLOGY being edited by Rev. J. B. Carol, O.F.M., and >ublished by Bruce, has been on the market just about a year. This volume ·overs the sources of Mariology. Students and librarians may be interestt d in knowing the present progress of the other two volumes.

FATHER' BERNARD LEFROIS, S.V.D., ELECTED Father Bernard J. LeFrois S.V.D., scripture professor at St. Mary's Seminary, 1 Techny, Illinois, has b£,en elected third president of the Mariological Society of America at the seventh annual convention of the organization in New York. Very Rev. Pete A. Resch, S.M., provincial of the St. Louis province of the Marianists, was ~lected vice-president. Rev. Armand Robichaud, S.M., Marist College and Ser1inary, Framingham Center, Mass., was elected treasurer.

Rev. J. B. Carol, O.F./\ ., was re-elected secretary of the Society.

MARY AND THE CHURCH The Winter 1956 number of Theology Digest carries a valuable annotated bibliography of 49 references on a topia of great interest to Mariologists: Mary and the Church. Compiled by Rev. Cyril Vollert, S.J ., the list includes seven items in English. The French Mariological Society devoted three years of study to the subject from 1951 to 1953.

THE MADONNA ON STAMPS Religious stamp collectors who have not been following the series of articles, ''The M•donn• on St•mps", by Rev. Aloysius Horn, appearing in The Age of M•ry (formerly Queen of the Minions), are missing a rich source of material on Our lady and stamps. We hope that Fr. Horn will eventually publish the articles in book form. The Age of M•ry is published by the Servile Fathers, 3121 West Jackson Blvd., Chicago 12, Illinois.

MARIANIST FEATURES HUME An article by Paul Hume, music critic of the w..hington Post, is featured in the March issue of The M•ri•nist. Mr. Hume examines the subject of Marian hymns in the light of the recent papal encyclical, S•cre Music•e Disciplin• (Dec. 29, 1955). His conclusions are interesting and outspoken.
