A new website has been launched – www.protectbyron.com.au – which aims to inform residents on the soonto-be-decided West Byron development. The website’s content designer is local ad man Alan Morden. Alan conceived the hugely successful tourism advertising campaign 100% Pure New Zealand while art director with Saatchi & Saatchi. After arriving back from an overseas trip, he discovered ‘The horror that is West Byron’, and immediately put his energy to the cause. ‘The problem is that most people think West Byron is a done deal,’ he says. ‘So we need to explain that it’s not and that their submissions can, and will, make a difference. The website will give residents and visitors the facts they need.’ Q Q Q Q

the state was the Greens, ‘who have now progressed from 21.6 per cent of the vote in 2010 to 13.8 per cent in 2014 to barely 10 per cent in 2018, and from five seats to three to potentially as few as one.’ Ouch. Q Q Q Q

Now that the Fair Work Commission have approved the merger of Australia’s largest unions, the CFMEU, TCFUA and the MUA, will they be able to turn around rising inequality? Perhaps big business and their Liberal and National Party muppets have the answer, which is essentially to trust them instead to make the economic pie big enough so there are a few more crumbs for the 99 per cent. The big business fear campaign kicked off immediatley, calling it an ‘entity with the capacity to shut down multiple supply chains and effectively hold the economy to ransom.’ It appears it’s either big business or unions who hold us to ransom.
