Fun celebration this Friday This Friday night 10 November from 6pm one of Mullum’s oldest cafes will be young again as The Empire’s new management put on a bit of an ‘opening night’ celebration, with, gasp, free beer. Yes, it’s still safe to bring the young ones to come and eat burgers, and yes, you do have to eat a meal in order to get a free beer, but it’s certainly a good opportunity to put event beer sponsors Stone & Wood to the test. Much has changed in Mullumbimby since ‘oyster saloons’ were all the rage, or since The Empire cinema was adjacent to the café. For example, DJ Crucial D will be on hand to play a few tunes on the nights. However, there is still a very good spirit The Empire Cafe’s epic burgers make a tasty to Mullumbimby, it seems like a ‘real’ addition to a Stone & Wood town. On the same night, right next door to The Empire, the artisans from the ‘Made in Mullum’ gift shop will also be open (celebrating six years in business), giving you a good opportunity to do some early Christmas shopping from their range. ‘Made in Mullum’ has a lot of handmade and funky things: clothes, wooden carvings, clay Christmas decorations, jewellery, artworks, and some very cool hats and clothing from fourfeathersau. Keep it unique! The Empire. 20 Burringbar Street, Mullumbimby. Ph: 6684 2306. Facebook/Insta: @EmpireMullum. Made in Mullum. 24 Burringbar Street, Mullumbimby. Facebook/ Insta: @MadeInMullum.
