Cino Bambino have said goodbye and an exciting new project – Table View cafe – has seen the old cafe gutted and refurbished (very tastefully). New owners and brothers, Allen and Marc Shubitz, have had a globe-trotting education when it comes to hospitality. ‘I’ve been in Copenhagen working for the Coffee Collectors – one of the world’s best coffee roasters – and also as head barista at Harry’s in Bondi,’ Marc told me. ‘We’ve both of us travelled the world for five years tasting and collecting interesting dishes and ideas to add to the new cafe menu,’ Allen explained. ‘Table View is a metaphor for these travels. It’s also the name of the suburb in Cape Town where we are from and we just so happen to look out over the tables in the park too,’ Allen added.
