Byron Shire Council Notices ADOPTION OF AMENDMENT TO BYRON DEVELOPER CONTRIBUTIONS PLAN 2012 AMENDMENT 2 At the Extraordinary meeting of 26 June 2014, Council resolved to adopt draft Byron Developer Contributions Plan Amendment 2 subject to minor amendments to the works schedules. The plan comes into force on 15 July 2014. This plan repeals and replaces Byron Developer Contributions Plan Amendment 1. BYRON SHIRE DCP 2014 AND RELATED DOCUMENTS APPROVAL AND COMMENCEMENT Byron Shire DCP 2014 At Council’s Extraordinary Meeting held on 26 June 2014 Byron Council resolved (14-315) to approve the “Byron Shire Development Control Plan 2014” (DCP 2014) for commencement on 21 July 2014. In accordance with clause 21(2) of the EP&A Regulation 2000, Council gives public notice that the “Byron Shire Development Control Plan 2014” is effective from 21 July 2014. Once effective, DCP 2014 repeals Byron Shire Development Control Plan 2010 as it applies to land to which Byron LEP 2014 applies. The purpose of DCP 2014 is to give effect to the aims of Byron Local Environmental Plan (LEP) 2014 and provide guidance for development that is permissible under that Plan.

New Year’s Eve events An opportunity to showcase your local event style! Byron Shire Council is seeking expressions of interest from suitable incorporated organisations to project manage and deliver one or more of the key Byron Bay New Year’s Eve 2014 events: 1. Soul Street NYE, 2. First Sun NYD and the 3. Youth Event. Council is offering seed funding for each event and looking for innovative ideas and passionate people to achieve the objectives and outcomes, in collaboration with Council to deliver on the ten key strategies to support a vibrant, inclusive and family orientated Byron Bay New Year’s Eve in 2014. An Expressions of Interest (EOI) document outlines the details, along with the Plan for New Year’s Eve in Byron Bay 2014, and is available on Council’s website below. The new TPO amends the previous TPO to clarify that it only applies to land to which Byron LEP 1988 applies. The TPO will not apply to vegetation on land to which Byron LEP 2014 will apply. “Chapter B2 – Preservation of Trees and Other Vegetation” of “Byron Shire Council Development Control Plan 2014” will apply instead to vegetation on this land.
