• Danielle Wilken was named the University of Bridgeport’s twelfth President in May of 2021. • Being in the 2022-23 academic year, the University of Bridgeport increase its athletic offerings with the addition of varsity men’s and women’s indoor & outdoor track plus men’s lacrosse. • UB women’s soccer program claimed the 2018 NCAA Division II National Championship with a 1-0 win over Grand Valley St. marking the first NCAA Division II team championship in school history.

The last time came in 2017 when they also made a NCAA tournament appearance. • The Firebird defense and goalkeepers have forced six shutouts this season • The Firebirds had an eight games unbeaten streak this season, their longest since joining the ECC. • Senior Forward/midfielder Vitor Gomes has scored the game-winning goal in five games (four of them conference games) this season.
