• Strong pitching has been one of STAC’s major strengths this season. Della Vecchia, a senior lefthander, leads the team in wins and strikeouts and threw a no-hitter against College of Staten Island. Landrum, a freshman righthander, has pitched five shutouts. • After a slow start, STAC turned its season around by winning 12 of 14 games that included a six-game win streak. The Lady Spartans have been ranked ninth in the first two NCAA Div, II East Regional weekly polls. They’ve now reached the 20-win plateau for three straight full seasons. • STAC has received offensive contributions from a wide array of players to form one of its deepest lineups in recent memory. Emilie Olivier and Carissa Della Vecchia provide extra-base punch while Abbie Landrum and Amanda Castro have added consistent hitting and run production. In conference play, Olivier and Castro sport batting averages over .400 and Olivier leads the team in homers and RBIs.
