Time: 1:30PM – 4:30PM NJ CE Credits: 3 NJ CORE Credits Instructor: Randy Ketive Course Description: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to have a general understanding of the history, health effects, causation, professional services and renovation of lead paint. This knowledge will allow them to successfully assist their clients in the process of purchasing and selling a home or property. Having a better understanding of what lead is and how it should be addressed is certainly a benefit to the Real Estate community because lead is prominent in pre1978 homes which is a huge part of this country's housing stock. This course will highlight not only how to identify lead hazards but how to target the cause of deterioration and then renovate properly to ensure the safety of those who live there.

Name of Course: Radon Testing & Mitigation for REALTORS Time: 1:30PM – 4:30PM NJ CE Credits: 3 NJ ELECTIVE Credits Instructor: Keith Baicker Course Description: Radon continues to be a major factor in many real estate transactions. A Realtor who does not know the basics in Radon testing and mitigation is at a disadvantage and cannot serve his or her client to the fullest potential. Additionally, changing Radon laws in other states will eventually alter the landscape in the tristate area. The Realtor who has a broader awareness of these laws and regulations will be better equipped to manage expectations and educate clients coming from outside the region. 6

For that reason, real estate licensing was instituted to assure a certain standard of ethical conduct in the industry. Further, a requisite for membership in the National Association of REALTORS is the commitment to adhere to NAR's Code of Ethics and ongoing ethics training is now mandatory for new and existing members. This course will provide the foundation for ethical conduct, introducing the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice, the enforcement of professional standards and the resolution process.

Description: To acquire a real estate broker’s license in New Jersey you are

required to be at least 18 years of age, have a high school education or the equivalent, have three years full-time experience under the supervision of a broker immediately preceding the date of application for broker’s license, successfully complete 150 hours of instruction in an approved school concurrent with the holding of a salespersons license and pass a state examination. A broker candidate must be a legal resident of the United States, but need not be a citizen. The three-year experience required to qualify for licensure as a broker must be full-time during normal business hours, meaning at least 40 hours per week, any five of seven days in the week. Nevertheless, no more than 25 hours per week of non-real estate employment may be engaged in during this threeyear period.
