Intensive Services

A high school student with a significant history of trauma was being sent home 3-4 times a week and facing frequent suspensions because of physical aggression and inappropriate behaviors. Easterseals MORC worked closely with the school’s education team, and as a result, the student found academic success on the honor roll at the end of the school year

A student with an IEP and frequent severe self-injuries, was out of school for almost three years. The student’s school was working closely with an ABA provider to provide educational services outside of a school setting When the student’s parents discovered Easterseals MORC Children's Intensive Services program, we were able to collaborate with the ABA service provider and a school behaviorist to provide the best care for the student After several months, the student could transfer to a specialized school and later began attending full days of school.

A student who was experiencing severe aggression was injuring themselves and putting their peers at risk The student was out of a traditional school setting for almost 4 years In collaboration with the student’s school, and our Children’s Intensive Services program, we were able to utilize trauma informed behavioral interventions. They went back to attending half days, then faded into full days. We are happy to report that this student successfully transitioned to middle school at the beginning of this school year and is doing great!

For more than 5 months, a young adult with borderline, impulsive, lifethreatening behaviors, and thoughts of suicide, was frequently in and out of psychiatric facilities, hospitals, and emergency departments. The Adult Intensive Services program at Easterseals MORC supported community stabilization and offered a multi-disciplinary and intensive approach, including meeting with a case coordinator, therapist, and community health worker 3 times a day, 5 days a week, for about 3 months We are thrilled to report that since this young adult has been involved in the Adult Intensive Services program, there has been no further hospitalizations and they have demonstrated progress with more selfcontrol, insight, and ability to follow a safety plan As their systems management has improved, they have transitioned to less frequent appointments as progress is maintained.
