SELECTING THE RIGHT LAWYER Hopefully you never need the services of a motorcycle injury attorney, BUT if you ever do, unless you are represented by an attorney experienced in this complicated area of the law, you will be at a distinct disadvantage when having to deal with an insurance company or insurance company attorneys. Over the years we have we have recovered substantial amounts of money for our clients in counties throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey. We have references and our clients overwhelmingly say they are happy with our services. Results are important and examples of our injury recoveries include:

The Toy Run They Couldn’t Stop Popular Philly event saved at the last minute Story & photos by Norm Keller

For 30 Years the Delaware Valley chapter of ABATE has been the host of the Philadelphia Toy Run on the second Sunday of November. Last year it was thought that it was the last ride to take toys to the kids at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). The increasing costs of the city police and resources was beyond the ability of the organizes as announced in our October/November issues the ride was cancelled. After the November issue of this magazine was sent to the printers I received an email and a phone call from Frank Staquet, event organizer, stating that it looks like this years toy run may happen after all! They had about two weeks to pull together all of the strings and make it happen and I thought they were about to do the impossible ... But they did! What happened was this. A local TV News station interviewed members of the Delaware Valley ABATE about the Toy Run and why it wasn’t happening. It didn’t take long until they received phone calls from many wanting to offer help to make it happen again. One of the phone calls came from the office of Congressman Robert Brady (D) from the Philadelphia District. Congressman Brady wanted to know what he could do to make the Toy Run happen. With his help, and the help of many others, the Toy Run did happen on the usual day and was well attended. I had been a regular attendee of this event long before I began publishing this magazine and the thought of it never happening again would have been a big disappointment. The ride started in 1980 when Mike Horton & Denny Waldman (chapter President & Treasurer at the time) started with just 50 riders. Today it is probably the largest toy run on the east coast. The event drew many riders from the tri-state area and further beyond. I’m happy that the event will continue and I’m already looking forward to the 2012 ride. These guys do an outstanding job of organizing this huge event for the past 31 years and I’d like to wish them continued success for the next 30 years and beyond.

BROS MC TOY RUN 2011 Story & photos submitted by Steve Morton

On November 12, 2011 the BROS Motorcycle Club held their Annual Toy Run to the Children’s Home in Reading. This was a year for different circumstances. The th Run was originally scheduled for October 30 but Mother Nature decided to Surprise us all with an early snowstorm on the 29th that crippled much of the area and surrounding areas as well. Many of you showed up on the original date of the run in vehicles to support this event anyway. With conditions not good we decided to postpone the actual ride to a later date and had everyone stay for Food & Drink that was donated by many businesses throughout our community. We would like to thank those who help us year after year. They are: Fred's A to Z Pest Control, Big John's Catering, Hartings Bakery, Kings Quality Foods, Berks Packing, Maiers Bakery, Temple Aluminum Foundry, Shillington Knights of Columbus, Loose Ends Magazine, the Birdsboro Fire Co, Birdsboro Police Dept, the Exeter Police Dept, the Reading Police Dept and Corropolese Pizza. We’d also like to thank WFMZ 69 News for coverage of the event. Two weeks later we decided to make the run and started to spread the word so that many of you could ride with us. Much to Our surprise many more of you showed up on November 12th. This was more then we could ask for and we ended up with about 60 motorcycles headed to the Children’s Home along with a very special guest, Santa. When we arrived at the Home the kids were waiting as well as some of the staff. After unloading the Toys and Goods we gathered, three of the boy's took to the podium. Two of them wrote a poem together that expressed their thanks and what this day meant to them to "Know" that people out there really do care & love them.” This was a very moving experience for all that attended. After all was said the Children’s Home supplied all of the riders with snacks & drinks. This year, after all that happened with the weather, turned out to be a record year for BROS MC and our toy run. We would like to thank all of our friends, the other clubs that participated and every supporter that showed up for helping us to put a bit of brightness in the eyes of these kids as they continue to grow toward being adults. We are now looking forward to next year and seeing all of you again. Please bring your friends and help us make next year’s event another one to remember. From the bottom of our hearts… Thank You

Bringing Down The House Reck Room Choppers Pro Street Warrior Story by Norm Keller, Photography by Jack McIntyre www.bikerpics.org

Let’s start of our tenth anniversary off right. I wanted to have a radical bike with some truly spectacular paint topped off with a totally awesome model. I got both with an old friend, Vincent “Enzo” Ribaudo at Reck Room Choppers, check out his website for more information at www.reckroomchoppers.com. We’ve featured one of his bikes several years ago and I’m really excited about what he’s brought us for this issue. Enzo has always had a passion for building motorcycles. His interest grew into a hobby, however he found it difficult to work on his creations while living in a row home in South Philly without the use of a garage. The framework for each bike began in his mind. He knew that his ideas were something special and that there was no stopping his ambition to make his imagination come to life. Enzo started building his bikes in his family room, or what he refers to now as his Reck Room. In 2004, when the creation of his first bike was put to work, he began his business as Reck Room Choppers. His newest piece of art work, the Pro Street Warrior shown on this month’s cover, was completed in 2010. This bike is a true example of the many creative ideas that Enzo has brought to life. This beautiful beast boasts a 127ci Ultima Engine with a six speed Ultima Trans and a 49 degree total rake. The massive 330 rear tire hits the road running. Custom made handlebars and Accutronix forward controls add to the sleek look of this beauty. Add an Arlen Ness headlight to light the way for this rolling piece of artwork. Speaking of artwork, Fred Sicoli from Killer Kreations www.killerkreations.biz (we’ve seen a lot of his work in the East Coast Biker) did a totally awesome job on the paint. The custom made crocodile seat is the finishing touch that makes this bike really stand out in a crowd. Adorning this months cover is model Michelle, spokes model for Biker Pics photographer Jack McIntyre www.bikerpics.org. Check out his site for some great pictures from events all over the country. Jack has provided us with photos from time to time and I hope that we will be seeing more of his work in our magazine and on our website in 2012. Check out his site, there’s a lot of great information there. So there you have our first cover for 2012 and our 10th Anniversary. A beautiful bike, a beautiful model and some really photography. Now that’s what I call getting our anniversary year off to a good start. We hope that you enjoyed this month’s edition and our choice of bike and model. When you see Enzo, Michelle, Jack or Fred (from Killer Kreations) tell them that you saw the Pro Street Warrior in the East Coast Biker and it really looked great!

Motorcycle Outpost 1016 Gap Newport Pike, Cochranville PA 19330 Daily hours: Mon-Thur 10-7, Fri 9-5 and Sat 9-3 Sun closed Phone 610-593-5939 Fax 610-593-5938 Email motorcycleoutpost@verizon.net Story and photos submitted by Bri Sisti

If you are looking for a bike shop that's big on customer service, know-how and cool ideas, check out Motorcycle Outpost. The shop is managed by Gail Szandrowski, a 20 year employee of the motorcycle retail business and motorcycle enthusiast with 25 years riding, racing and touring experience. Gail brought all of her passion for bikes to this shop. On one side of the store I found a Swap Shop, the perfect spot to sell things from that box of cycle stuff that came off your bike and is bound to sit in a box until your ol' lady tosses it. And what do you know, it's also the perfect place to pick up some hard to find items that someone's been holding onto! New parts are neatly displayed along other walls in the shop and what she doesn't have she can get within two days for most items. The Motorcycle Outpost also has a tool rental service. Perfect for the do-it yourself owner who doesn't have everything to do-it him/herself. At $25.00 per 24 hour rental, you can't beat that price. There's also a tech station that is for customer use, no more hunting for service and parts manuals‌ they are right here at your fingertips. After wandering around the shop, checking out parts and t-shirts, I had to wonder where all the bikers were. The lot was full, but I only saw a handful of people on the sales floor... and then it all made sense. There is a lounge area with hot coffee, tea and hot cocoa. After a frigid morning ride, everyone was warming up and checking out the maps, books, cake and comfy seating. Gail says "the coffee is always on". So what are you waiting for? Take a country ride to a cool destination spot, check out some neat stuff, buy a shirt and come back again soon.

New Starting Location for Toy Run Brings larger crowd Story & photos by Norm Keller

The 14th Annual Clarence D. Bell Memorial Toy Run, hosted By BACA Delaware County, was held this past November with one change from the past. The run had a new starting location, the ride began at the Tri-State Mall in Delaware then proceeded to the Chester City Hall in Pennsylvania. The new location provided more space for staging the bikes and made it easier to form up and ride out. The large parking lot was easy to find as was evident by the number of people that attended this event. For Years the ride met at the Chichester Municipal Building off of Route 95 but the parking lot was getting more crowded every year. To help the event grow and make it easier for the registration and formation of the ride a new location had to be found. With that in mind the ride was moved to this new location in Delaware and I think that it was a very good move. Riders showed up from the tri-state area to participate in this event. The ride is dedicated to Clarence D. Bell who was a Pennsylvania State Senator until his death in 2002. He was the longest serving public official in Pennsylvania. This ride can only get bigger and better for 2012 and I hope that you will add it to your list of events. See you there in 2012.

1-888-CYCLE-LAW LeeGaber@cycleattorney.com www.cycleattorney.com

In today’s digital world with everybody utilizing the Internet, Facebook, Twitter and all sorts of social media for virtually everything, it has become extremely easy for anyone to design a web page, throw a couple of pictures on it, write an article and claim that they are an expert in virtually any field you can think of. It has become the modern version of “padding your resume” and hoping that a potential employer doesn’t dig too deep into your background.

I am discussing this because occasionally I go on the Internet to check out other attorneys who claim they handle motorcycle accidents. While I do not know every attorney who advertises, after twenty years in the motorcycle community, I am familiar with those attorneys who have a reputation for focusing their practice on motorcycle accidents and ave the knowledge and experience needed to fully and competently represent a seriously injured biker. However, when I search for motorcycle attorney’s, I am amazed by some of the attorney’s whom are claiming to be “motorcycle accident attorneys”. I believe many of these attorneys couldn’t tell the difference between a Harley and Vespa, and have limited experience with motorcycle accidents, if any at all. While this doesn’t necessarily mean they aren’t competent to handle a motorcycle case, in my opinion, if an attorney holds himself out as specializing in, or focusing their practice on motorcycle accidents, they should have significant experience with motorcycles and/or involvement in the motorcycle community, rather than simply paying a web designer to show them standing next to a motorcycle and throwing some generic articles about motorcycles on their website. I suggest that if you ever need an attorney, rather than going to the internet and blindly choosing one who “claims” they handle motorcycle accidents, ask a friend or co-rider for a referral, or simply call me. While it may not be required to ride a motorcycle to represent a biker, wouldn’t you rather deal with an attorney who not only rides, but supports the motorcycle community, has personally handled thousands of motorcycle accidents and truly does focus his practice on representing bikers? At this point in my career, although most of my new clients come from referrals, those that I have met at motorcycle events and through lectures I give at motorcycle clubs, I am in the process of updating my web presence to make sure that if anyone needs to reach me and doesn’t have a magazine handy, I will be easier to find. Many of you have heard the phrase “I am not a doctor, but I play one on TV” well, I am a real motorcycle attorney …. I don’t just play one on the Internet! I hope you find this information informative and if you would like additional information on this topic, or any other, I can always be reached at LeeGaber@cycleattorney.com or by calling me at 1-888-CYCLE-LAW (1-888-292-5352). Sincerely, LEE D. GABER, Esquire The one and only, “Cycle Attorney”

Allentown Toy Run a Success Lehigh Valley Chapter of ABATE hosts a great event. Story & photos by Norm Keller

Since my first days of riding years ago I have always enjoyed the Toy Run hosted the Lehigh Valley Chapter of ABATE. This event is always held on the third Saturday of November and I do remember some years that the weather was a little bit on the freezing side but it seems as though they have always had the sun in their favor as far back as I can remember. This year was the 28th Annual Toy Run and it seems to be growing every year. This event has been supporting the Volunteers of America Children’s Center www.voapa.org located in center city Allentown which provides services for children and their families. The ride also supports Turning Point of Lehigh Valley www.turningpointlv.org, an organization that helps families dealing with domestic violence. This event has been organizing at the Walmart shopping center located on Hamilton Blvd. in the Wescosville area and riding into town as one long parade of motorcycles, cars and trucks to share a little joy with those less fortunate. Thousands of motorcycles and their riders gather with toys loaded and ready to share the Christmas joy. It’s surprising at how quickly the parking lot at Walmart, filled with the thousands of motorcycles, quickly empties out in a well organized and orderly fashion. I have to really give credit to the guys and gals who put this event on year after year. When it comes right down to it they know what they are doing. It seemed as though right up to a half hour before leaving that they weren’t granted their permit to hold this event. The authorities weren’t sure if it was going to be safe enough, after all they’ve only been doing this for 27 years without one incident. The finally left and again it was a huge success. This is a great ride to participate in and I’m always happy to be there and meet up with a lot of my old riding buddies. You should have been there, but it’s too late for this year. We’ll see you next year on the third Saturday in November. For more info: www.lvabate.com

The holidays have begun as the riding season ends but there were many events to keep tri-state riders on their bikes in November. A.B.A.T.E „s For the Kids 31st Annual Toy Run to collect toys for sick children at the Children‟s Hospital of Philadelphia took place on November 6th after almost being cancelled. Due to the last minute efforts of Pa Congressman Bob Brady, the city of Philadelphia‟s fee and the hospital‟s concerns about traffic were overcome. On the warm sunny morning of the run, thousands of bikes laden with toys lined up on Delaware Avenue to follow the Philly Fanatic and Santa Claus to Citizens Bank Park in South Philadelphia, where the collection took place this year. Toys “For the Kids” were dropped off at the Citizen’s Bank Park in South Philly. Drexel University„s toy drive for Philadelphia children and Children‟s Hospital provided bins so people could choose where the toys would go. A small group of bikes delivered some toys to the hospital after all the toys were collected which solved the problem of thousands of motorcycles surrounding the hospital‟s access areas. Biker‟s Against Child Abuse, Delaware Valley Chapter, provided an opportunity for area riders to donate toys to abused children on November 13th. The riders left Price‟s Corner on Namans Road in Wilmington, Delaware at noon and rode to the city park in nearby Chester, Pennsylvania where they dropped off their toys. Operation Warm provided an opportunity to give a needy child a new winter coat on November 19th at the Hannum‟s Harley-Davidson dealership located in Chadd‟s Ford, Pennsylvania. Around noon bikes and the antique cars from the Car Show Team left the dealership to ride up Route 1 to the Riddle Memorial Hospital in Media where the participants dropped off the supply of coats. Afterwards Hannum‟s provided a lunch for everyone at their nearby Media dealership. Members of Tri-State HOG left the Granite Run Mall located in Media with eleven cars to visit the Renault Winery in Egg Harbor, New Jersey on November 12th and joined other members at the winery to create a group of thirty-six. After the group learned how wine was made during the tour they found out that due to the excessive rain in the area, the winery had a rare late harvest which extended from the end of September to the first two weeks of October. Next they had a lunch of Italian food complemented with as much wine as they wanted to taste. Afterwards the group enjoyed walking around the Italian villa style garden which surrounds the winery before driving home.

Waiting for the ride to begin on Delaware Avenue in Philly.

Last minute check of cargo to ensure that everything will stay till the end of the ride.

Chapter A of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association enjoyed their Thirtieth Annual Banquet on November 19th at The Days Inn Hotel located in West Chester. After the buffet dinner, there was a gift exchange game, a 50/50 drawing and a special gift giveaway. The members of the Keystone Chapter of Women on Wheels had a chance to ride on some “smaller wheels” at the Cain Roller Rink after their monthly meeting held at Smaltz‟s Harley-Davidson localted in Eagle on November 19th.
