WC All-Americans
Gary Worthy and Brandon Tisdale are part of Wilkmington College’s All-American tradition. Worthy, a three-time All-American running back for the Quakers, still owns every single-season and career rushing record 30 years after his storied WC career ended. A standout defensive tackle, Tisdale was the last Quaker to earn multiple All-American honors. He was honored in 2003 and 2004 for his exploits on the gridiron. Nearly a decade later, he still holds the career record for sacks and tackles for loss. Since 1972, 76 Quakers have earned All-American honors, the most recent being Bryce Martin in 2010. In the classroom, the Quakers have been equally accomplished with 25 WC football players receiving either Academic All-American or Academic All-District honors since 1982.
