Cars & Couples Article & Photos by Marissa DeRosa Campbell

I can’t believe it’s July and all the amazing jam packed fun weeks and weekends we have been fortunate enough to share with beautiful car people and couples over the last month! Doug always says “car people are the best people,” and month by month as we journey along in this world of car enthusiasts together, this absolutely rings true. What I love most about being a car couple is there is ALWAYS an event around the bend. I am finding living this way together keeps our car dreams alive, fresh, sparks massive creativity within, and deeper connections with others. I mean how many times do we hear or have we told ourselves, “Man, that car is my dream!” Or what about the line we hear from so many super people, “This car is a dream I’ve had since I was a teen.” Well, in my humble opinion, the events and the people keep the dreams alive. What’s happening for us as we drift from week to week cruising to different cities along the California Coast is that we’re becoming more inspired to create and live out more of our dreams in the car world. It’s like anything you are passionate about, when you get out there and change it up and are present and grateful for the experience, magic happens. Either the person, the car, the inspiration, the idea, or sometimes just the feeling of self-love living in the moment of surrounding yourself around a bunch of heal and toe drivers and tripping out as you engage in conversation with them, thinking to yourself, “did that really happen?’ So this last month we are grateful for many of those experiences week after week, and realizing how blessed all of us are in California to have so many awesome car events and people right at our fingertips to launch into. We like to fuel our dreams with a combo of neighborhood events, people and cars mixed in with brand new experiences all across California to keep us connected and forever grateful for where we live. We have our favorites which are local and true to us, and part of our immediate car community we love being a part of and the friendships run deep. It’s cool to see those that come from all over the world pop in and enjoy what we have in our own backyard. Keeps us in a constant place of gratitude over this amazing car culture and for where we live. Our Sunday favorites that are local and true to us and part of our immediate community, the Balboa Car Show coined as “The World’s Largest Small Car Show,” which happens every week on Sundays in Orange County, and then of course, the world famous “Super Car Sunday” in Los Angeles. Our favorite once a month car event is hands down, Malibu Wheels & Waves, every second Sunday of the month. In a given month in our journey with cars as a couple, we then like to venture out a little further and explore some new roads. The sprinkle of keeping it fresh in the car world this month have been awesome car enthusiast events invitations to the Highway Earth Car Show in Franklin Canyon Park, and the Steve McQueen Car Show and Commerative Dinner themed from the movie “Bullitt.” We are so grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of both. Friendships launched with different people around beautiful, fun, different cars is what it’s all about. Hearing people’s personal journey and how cars are weaved into creating the life of their dreams, steeped in love, creativity and passion and with elements of giving back is what true California Dreaming, Cars & Couples is all about. Life at full throttle is about keeping your dreams alive. Super car enthusiast people get out there and show up in the car world for the experience of it all and for the inspiration. Take the month to get out there and experience a new event, give back or give in. And don’t forget to drive healthy because beautiful cars, couples, people and California is waiting for you.

Pedal Drives Social Media For The Automotive Enthusiast Article by Erik Lunseth

Pedal is what you get when you combine the passion for all things automotive and a desire to do social media the right way. Like many of you I can trace my passion for cars back to the early days of childhood. It is that same passion that continues to fuel the spirit and love of the automobile within me to this day. This passion, the digital age, and the changing environment of how individuals, organizations and businesses interact and market to one another, is the formula for what led us to create a new social media app for the automotive enthusiast. Everyone knows a vehicle can’t run without power, and it doesn’t stop without brakes. Since pedals enable these functions to happen, it was natural to call the app Pedal, and use the tagline, Passion for What Moves. Since Henry Ford had thousands of cars rolling off the assembly lines we’ve wanted to hit the open road and share stories and pictures of our cars and journeys. This is still true today, only the medium has changed. Social media has its place in car culture and Pedal wants you to be excited about the endless possibilities. A lot of people either embrace and love social media, or they completely stay away from it. Pedal wants to do social media the right way. Pedal was created and built to give everyone in the automotive world a social media platform they can enjoy; from the casual car observer and cars and coffee fan, to the diehard collector, as well as those that not only play in the automotive sector, but market to and work within it. The world moves quicker today than it ever has. A lot of changes have driven our way over the last decade and continue to do so. It can be argued that in the history of the automobile it has never been talked about more than it is today. Communication has drastically changed during this same period as well. New devices and methods to communicate have been brought on line and continue to be developed, thus changing how we all capture and share moments and memories. Go to any event, car show, cars and coffee, concours, you name it, odds are pretty solid that you’ll see great cars, meet great people and hear wonderful stories. Further, odds are spot on that you’ll see man, woman, and child, anyone with a smartphone, taking pictures and posting to social media. Pedal’s place is to bridge the car culture of today with these new communication tools to build an incredible community. The goal with Pedal is to be automotive centric. Members show their enthusiasm by revving posts. Also, you can embed links in all posts to share and promote what you’re doing. Like any race car driver, he/she doesn’t and can’t do it alone. And Pedal is fortunate to have a talented team in the pits. Co-founders Erik Lunseth and Caroline Connor created and run Pedal along with advisors Mattox Gardner and Dale Ferrera. The formidable team of Shane Zilinskas and Kara McGehee at ClearSummitt oversaw the creative and innovative app architecture. Pedal is the must have, free app for automotive enthusiasts and everyone, organization and business connected to, and working within the automotive industry. Pedal is a social media community to capture, share, and discover the passion that moves. We hope to see you all on Pedal. Pedal is available in app stores: Pedal – Passion for What Moves Website: pedaltheapp.com Email: info@pedaltheapp.com

Cruising With Cynthia Summer is here and our Southern CA car community is already rockin’ and rollin’! Chances are you've tidied up your ride, a little buff, a little polish, some clean sparkly wheels and you hit the road! The year has started off with several fun car events that I've attended, including the Classic Auto Show at the LA Convention center in the beginning of March. Just a bit of a re-cap, it was hosted by Michelle and Mike Brewer from the cable tv show ‘Wheeler Dealers’ and The Velocity Channel, this show has quickly become a must-see car event! With over 1000 classics on exhibit, there was everything for the collector, the enthusiast, the wrenchers, all the passion for classics under one roof. Tons of vendors, and if you wanted to meet one of your favorite auto celebrities, chances are that you did. They were walking around all weekend, taking photos with their fans and talking shop! Just by eavesdropping you could pick up on some great tips and stories. So, as March brought The Classic Auto Show, it included something extra special in its second year, which was the All Girls Garage corral! I was thrilled to have my 1965 Dodge Dart GT convertible on display along with Bogi’s Chevy Montage All Female Build 1957 Chevy Pickup, Kathy Garner and her pristine 1932 Ford Cabriolet/ High Boy, winning Best in Show Hot Rod, a 1964 Ford Falcon, a Boss 302 and several other awesome rides owned, maintained and driven by women. The Women ‘N Wheels panel, included the legendary Race Car driver, Lynn St.James and several other fascinating gals, all sharing their stories and knowledge under one roof, it was inspiring to say the least! It revealed an avenue for gals that want to get into or advance in the automotive industry! It was a fast paced weekend that fueled everyone’s love of Cars! The end of March was just as exciting with The Automobile Driving Museum and their All Girls Garage Car show! In its second year, this show delivered a spectacular array of cool cars and their female owners! We had a great display of pickups,Peggy’s 1946 Ford, a purple Riviera, low riders...these gals wrench on their cars, they give them quite a bit of tlc...some are daily drivers and some are weekend cars, and all of them get driven with smiles behind those wheels! The year’s schedule at the Automobile Driving Museum, quaint yet sophisticated, hosts some of Southern California's best car shows events, and every Sunday 3-4 of our vehicles come off the showroom floor and our docent drivers take you for a ride around the neighborhood. I'm one of the drivers and I give tours of the museum as well, so come on down and go for a cruise! You can get close and personal with our cars, take advantage of photo opportunities while sitting in the cars and imagining for instance, what it was like to drive a Model T in the early 1900’s, or hop in a1970 Dodge Challenger and remember those crazy days. There is a kids corner, an ice cream parlor, special events room and the docents are friendly and willing to share the history, motivation and spirit of the collection of automobiles. For more info check out the website at theadm.org. Every weekend there is an endless list of cruise-ins,events and car shows in and around SoCal. NSX CORRAL DAY at Supercar Sunday Story by: Dee D’Orazio with Photos by Ted Lighthizer

Miraculously, the 3rd Annual NSX CORRAL DAY at Supercar Sunday took place at Pierce College as scheduled but only after barely dodging the threat of an early morning rain shower. I’d like to imagine that Aryton Senna, looking down, had something to do with that! Come to think of it, he’d probably relish the idea of rain since he liked racing in it! Nevertheless, by 7am there were several eager NSX owners already positioning their

polished, prized possessions into the exclusive cordoned-off, NSX corral. Mario C. jockeyed his 800 hp, raceprepped 2017 Curva Red Gen II adjacent from Anthony V’s highly modified 2001 Silver Gen I with the outrageous rear spoiler!! Then, Jack & Yolanda A. cruised in from Tehachapi (some 103 miles away) in their brand new 2019 Thermal Orange Gen II acquisition. Whilst Ken Cheung showed off those “dihedral doors” on his 1992 Gen I, Avi Novel (a new father, congrats!) arrived

fashionably late in his Red & White wrapped “powered by Honda” 1993 Gen I (originally Spa yellow) with his wife! All the owners seemed proud to display their fine examples of Japan’s 1St Super car. And, to say there was a good cross section of all years & colors representing the marque would be apropos! In fact, I counted 25 Gen I’s (1991-2005) and 6 Gen II’s (2017-19). After a leisurely 3 hours of kibitzing and telling tall tales

of track days and sharing upgrade modifications, we headed off to the Malibu Hills on our customary somewhat spirited-drive led by Greg W. The view at the top of the Topanga Lookout is a great place to relax and take pictures if you ever get a chance. But we still had the last leg of our NSX Sunday to complete. Cruising down from those majestic hills, we finally arrived at our final destination – Lavaggio - the Art of Auto Detailing!

Tips

For Maintaining & Protecting Your Ferrari From the Mattioli Automotive Group

DETAILING In addition to keeping a car looking its best, consistent detailing is an important step in protecting a vehicle’s finish. Contaminants such as dirt, pollen, tree sap, and bird droppings can scratch and deteriorate painted surfaces if left over long periods. Given the value of a Ferrari, It is important to ensure that “best practices” are followed when performing a car wash; here are just a few from Mattioli Automotive Group’s (MAG) very own detailing specialists. • Use the proper products: Ensure that the soap and other cleaning products being used have been formulated specifically for automotive use. Excessively strong chemicals and detergents will not only strip the wax off but can also dull the finish on paint and trim. • All Towels are not equal: Microfiber towels offer low friction and can absorb more than seven times their weight in water, making them less abrasive and more effective than other towels. It is best to use a separate towel for each function (i.e..washing, drying, applying chemicals, etc). Also, towels should never be used if they are contaminated or have fallen on the ground; washing your towels often will help ensure that they are free of debris. • Two bucket Technique: To help prevent the re-introduction of dirt and contaminants It is best to employ the “two bucket technique” when washing your car. One bucket should contain the diluted soap and a second bucket should have clean water. After each pass with the soap, rinse contaminants off of the sponge in the clean water before re-introducing into the soap solution again. • Nooks and Crannies: Dirt and water can gather in the seams of the doors, trunk, and hood. It is important to clean and dry these areas thoroughly to prevent dripping onto clean surfaces. • Avoid Direct Sunlight: Water evaporates quickly in direct sunlight which can result in watermarks. Is your Ferrari in need of a thorough and professional cleaning? Feel free to reach out to one of the MAG’s four service centers to schedule a complete detailing service. PROTECTIVE FILM Stones, road debris, chemical stains, and UV damage are all potential dangers when exposing your prized Ferrari to the road and the elements. But owners can save themselves from headaches and costly refinishing bills simply by installing protective film over their immaculate finish. This nearly invisible film can be applied just to the most vulnerable surfaces or the entire vehicle depending on your needs and driving habits. Protect your Ferrari against road hazards and the harsh elements before it's too late. The Mattioli Automotive Group contracts several of the top protective film installers to perform the service in our facility and can guarantee timely turnaround and flawless results. To learn more about protective film options for your Ferrari, or to schedule an appointment please contact one of the MAG’s four service centers. CERAMIC COATING Ceramic Coating is another popular option for protecting paint and other vehicle finishes. When compared to protective film, it can be a more comprehensive and economical alternative. Ceramic coating is a special chemical compound that is applied to various vehicle finishes to form a permanent bond with the surface. The result is a 9H+ hard coating that repels water and offers protection from UV rays, chemicals, oxidation, and corrosion. It can be applied to paint for protection against light scratches, wheels to prevent the build-up of brake dust, and glass for increased visibility in wet weather. The MAG contracts several of the top ceramic coating specialists to perform the service in our facility and we can guarantee timely turnaround and flawless results. To learn more about ceramic coating, or to schedule an appointment please contact one of the MAG’s four service centers.

Keep your Ferrari ready for your next drive. SKID PLATES The most common dangers for Ferrari owners are steep driveways and parking curbs. Even with the optional lifter, which is available on newer models, there are still some obstacles that are too big to maneuver over unscathed. To add protection against marring the underside of the front bumper, many owners elect to install a skid plate. This sacrificial piece of durable plastic polymer is precision cut to fit precisely on to the underside of the front bumper. The result is a nearly invisible layer of protection against costly paint and autobody repairs. To learn more about skid plates for your Ferrari, or to schedule an appointment please contact one of the MAG’s four service centers. Each MAG location stocks an extensive inventory of skid plates for various models and can complete the installation in a matter of hours. BATTERY MAINTINENCE The phrase “if you don’t use it, you’ll lose it” has never been more accurate than with regards to automotive batteries. When a battery is in a discharged state for an extended period of time the lead sulfate crystals inside the battery begin to increase in size. The bigger the crystals get, the harder they are to dissolve which ultimately blocks the chemical reaction that allows the battery to charge, and eventually leads to battery failure. For this reason, Genuine Ferrari offers Battery Re-conditioners which are designed to maintain a battery’s charge and combat the growth of sulfate crystals. A Battery Re-conditioner should be utilized any time a vehicle is parked for long periods of time. This is especially vital for new vehicles which contain more electrical components that put a drain the battery. For specific questions regarding the use of the Ferrari Battery Re-conditioners or to order one for your vehicle, feel free to reach out to one of Mattioli Automotive Group’s four service centers. "STICKY INTERIOR TRIM" Over time, environmental factors and harsh chemicals can take a toll on the interior components of a mature Ferrari resulting in sticky buttons, controls, and trim pieces. The only remedies to this condition are to replace the deteriorated components or have them re-finished. Either way, the process is very involved. Thankfully, the Mattioli Automotive Group’s service centers are very experienced with this issue and can help advise owners of their options when restoring their interior to like-new condition. If your Ferrari is in need of interior trim restoration, we invite you to reach out to one of MAG’s four service centers to learn more or schedule a service appointment.

Mattioli Automotive Group’s service centers are happy to help with any inquiries about these and other services offered to help protect and maintain your Ferrari. s I walked up the short stair ladder to enter the $25 million Gulfstream G280 Executive Jet the gentleman behind me mentioned that he lived in Georgia about an hour from the Gulfstream factory in Savannah. We entered the cabin and admired the amazing cockpit layout and the impeccable finish on the interior wood work and perfectly stitched leather surfaces. I casually asked if he was in the market for a jet. He stated he was trying to decide between a Cessna Citation and a Gulfstream. Fortunately for him, there were also a couple of Cessna Executive jets on display that day too to make comparison shopping easier. Welcome to McCall’s Motorworks Revival where a number of the attendees actually have the means to make these sorts of purchases. For the past twenty-seven years McCall’s Motorworks Revival has grown to become the must attend “official” kick-off event to start Monterey Car Week. This year the event coincided with host Gordon McCall’s birthday so it was an extra special gathering for all. With so many activities located in and around the Monterey Peninsula occurring in just a few days, the lucky 3,000 attendees of the “Jet Party” were fortunate to have their event filled week start off on a very positive note. We arrived early and decided to walk through the parking lot before the event started. We saw a Bugatti Chiron, a Singer Porsche and a Ruf Porsche CTR3 Clubsport to name a few low production vehicles. The lot was adjacent to the airport so we also viewed the numerous planes on the apron nearby. This was a top-tier event as we were soon to experience. They exceeded their goal in providing access to affluent, influential guests in a private social setting. Everybody who attended the event was treated like a VIP. As we walked down the red carpet to enter we saw a woman dressed in a Las Vegas showgirl costume complete with feather boas suspended a few feet above our heads. She was seated in a free swinging metal crescent moon and there was a larger diameter metal octagon shaped ring above her with hundreds of strings of white beads hanging down surrounding her. I was already impressed by the first fifty feet through the entrance. The event was held at the Monterey Jet Center and the adjacent tarmac and included an amazing collection

of vintage and new aircraft, cars and motorcycles. Since the Jet Party began at 5PM it changed character completely when the sun went down and the entire area outside was lit up by well-placed lighting. Most car related events are held during the day or at night and very few overlap between day and night. As the sun started to set the national anthem was sung to officially start the evening’s festivities and kick off Monterey Car Week. Soon thereafter as a tribute to the late Dan Gurney, a vintage front-engine top fuel dragster was fired up and quickly grabbed everybody’s attention. The deafening sound didn’t stop the crowd from moving a little closer to view this vintage racer since I’m sure many guests had never actually experienced a running top fuel dragster in person. It was great to see the flames pop out of the short headers reminiscent of the numerous drag races I enjoyed at Irwindale Dragstrip when these “diggers” actually competed. Of the many unique vehicles on display, a group of note was the amazing collection of six race winning Lancia Rally and Endurance cars adored in Martini livery. They were owned by a single collector from Florida and I’m not aware if they have been previously shown together. It was really a rare treat since most or all of their racing days took place outside of the United States. In addition to the continual serving of gourmet lite-bites and beverages, another unique aspect of the event was the never ending bowl of Paella. The large four foot diameter metal bowl was refilled at least three times. It was huge and the best Paella I have ever tasted. That sentiment was shared by others I met in the perpetual line leading up to the table to enjoy the delicious calamari, shrimp, chicken and rice mixture. In addition to providing an enjoyable social gathering for attendees, the McCall’s Motorworks Revival also has given back in a huge way by donating major funds through the years to the California Highway Patrol 11-99 Foundation. This year they had a raffle for one lucky person to take home a 2019 Bullitt Mustang in traditional Highland Green. Please make plans to attend this great event in the future. Meanwhile, please enjoy Greg’s accompanying photos of some highlights this year.

Huracán Performante Spyder Article by Dustin Troyan Photos by Lamborghini

“The Huracán Performante Spyder takes the zenith of Huracán developments, combined with the enhanced emotion of driving a convertible,” says Stefano Domenicali, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Automobili Lamborghini. “The Huracán Performante already provides the most heightened feedback and emotion from road and track, and the Huracán Performante Spyder puts the driver even closer to asphalt and air, as well as the unique resonance of a naturally-aspirated Lamborghini engine.” With its inimitable 5.2 l V10 naturally-aspirated engine, the permanent four-wheel drive Performante Spyder accelerates from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.1 seconds, 0-200 km/h (0-124 mph) in 9.3 seconds, and with a top speed of 325 km/h matches its coupé stablemate. Braking from 100-0 km/h is mastered in 31.5 m. Like the Performante coupé, the Spyder outputs 640 hp (470 kW) at 8,000 rpm, producing 600 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm, and with more than 70% of torque already available at 1,000 rpm. With a total dry weight of just 1,507 kg, the Spyder returns a weight-to-power ratio of 2.35 kg/hp, with weight distribution front/rear of 43/57%. Design and engineering technology in exhilarating harmony The inherent design, technology and performance features of the Huracán Performante are as fundamental in the Spyder, thus adding a new dimension of driving pleasure to the supreme driving experience of the Performante. Its open-top design clearly differentiates the Spyder from its coupé counterpart, with roof both open and closed. The Performante design cues of Super Trofeo race cars and performance motorcycles with their naked, open-frame streetfighter characters remind that the Huracán Performante Spyder is a super sports car as capable on the track as the road.

• Design and engineering delivers sublime combination of performance, driving dynamics and fresh-air exhilaration • Forged carbon fiber technology contributing to 35 kg weight reduction over Huracán Spyder • Naturally aspirated 5.2 l V10 engine with 640 hp at 8,000 rpm • Acceleration 0-100 km/h in 3.1 seconds and top speed of 325 km/h • The technologies and performance prowess of the Huracán Performante in a Spyder model including active aerodynamics: “Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva” (ALA)

The first go-kart came about as a way for Air Force airmen to pass the time at a California air base in the mid 1950’s. Art Ingels however, is credited as being the ‘father of go-karting’ by making the first manufactured go-kart. Mr. Ingels was a builder at Kurtis Kraft, a company that began designing and building race cars in the 1930’s. His first kart was built in his garage at home and tested at the Rose Bowl parking lot. He quickly gained a following and karting spread throughout the United States and into Europe. Soon after, other manufacturers joined the fray. Similar to everything with wheels on it guys began racing them, staging go-kart races in parking lots all over the country! Those who could not buy or make their own karts could lay down some cash and rent a ride. There was Pepe’s Kartland in Van Nuys and Chatsworth, Malibu Grand Prix in Northridge, and now the indoor karting sensation MB2! Go-karts have come a long way since the 1950’s. Originally, able to reach speeds of 25mph, today’s sophisticated karts can reach speeds well over 100mph. While some of you may find them silly, however, racing greats such as Kyle Petty, Michael Schumacher, and Tony Stewart all started their careers in go-karts. Karting’s popularity has reached all over the world, with go-kart track skill levels ranging from the tame to high-end, high speed grand prix circuits. Still, even if you only have a lawn mower engine, when you’re sitting 2 inches off the ground, it feels fast!

Singer-Williams DLS Article by Steve Ellis @GetBTW

When an artist paints a picture, they draw inspiration from all over. The combination of what inspires them, the colors they’ve chosen, each brush stroke all result in the creation of a masterpiece. Rob Dickinson, the founder of Singer Vehicle Design, based right here in Los Angeles, has shown the world his Mona Lisa. From the first reimagined Porsche, built by singer that I saw, was during an episode of Top Gear. Back when Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May, were at the helm of the show…you know, back when it was bearable to watch. From those few years, Singer has become a household name, for creating some of the most captivating, and stunning cars to ever grace pavement. And yet, the Singer-Williams DLS, that was revealed to the world at this years Goodwood Festival or Speed, may be the most ravishing car made to date. The lines, the curves, the performance, combined in the most elegant way, this is the Singer DLS. A joint effort between Williams Advanced Engineering, the DLS is built on a 964 911. Packing a 4.0 liter, flat-six-cylinder engine, running to a redline of 9,000 rpms, using dual overhead cams, titanium valves, a redesigned lubrication system, Lighter throttle bodies, and an F1 derived upper and lower fuel injector system, making 500 horse power, I would say that this was a match made in heaven for this car, and it doesn’t stop there. DLS stands for Dynamics and Lightweight study. A standard 964 911 weighted 3,031 lbs, the DLS tips the scale at 2,180 lbs. That is roughly 850 lbs removed from the chassis, arguably THE best diet better than any Jenny Craig program! The body panels are designed using computational fluid dynamics, like those used in Formula One cars. The drastic weight loss comes in the form of customized carbon fiber body panels, with the air intakes incorporated into the rear quarter windows seamlessly, channeling fresh air down the carbon fiber funnels. To further improve weight distribution, a lighter six speed gearbox, developed by Hewland, which sits further forward in the chassis. Those stylish 18-inch, forged magnesium, centre-lock wheels are provided by none other than BBS. Those feather light wheels are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, sizing 245/35-18 front, and 295/30-18 in the rear. Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, along with adjustable damping, Bosch ABS system, traction control/ESP, keep the car in line on both the street and track. The interior of the DLS is just as much a work of art as the exterior. Carbon fiber bucket seats from Recaro, a bespoke carbon fiber Momo steering wheel, paired with exposed magnesium, and titanium linkage, leaves the cockpit with a space like feel. Unfortunately, things have a price, and the staggering price to put a Singer-Williams DLS in your garage come at $1.8 million dollars, but can you really put a price tag on the most bespoke Porsche 911 in the world? Only 75 examples of the DLS will be made, each being assembled at the Williams facility in the UK.

RoadStr App

Article & Photos by Stephen Kneubuehl

We’ve all been there. You just purchased your long-awaited car, the one you’ve been dreaming of for years, that one you’ve been saving towards, that you’ve aligned your personal goals towards acquiring. You head to the dealer, or the private seller, or the auction where you’ve purchased it, or maybe the garage where you’ve built it. You take the keys and the excitement builds in your chest as you open the car door and get in. You grasp the steering wheel, turn on the engine, and drive off into the sun. You push it hard, or for some of us, gently care for it and not dare leave a scratch. It’s a moment and feeling you don’t want to let go of. You want to drive that passion forward, share it with friends, and find others who held a similar feeling. But after a few congratulations from friends and some photos shared on Instagram, where do you turn to next? The RoadStr app was built to drive that same passion and level of excitement forward. It creates genuine connections in local communities, bringing new ways of interacting that

aren’t available on other apps or platforms. Spontaneous meetups, events and groups discovery, and high-quality car content come together in one unique place, on a social networking platform built 100% for car enthusiasts with a beautiful and simple design. And best of all, it enables real connections between real people like you and me. One of the most exciting features of the app, called RoadSharing, allows users to share their vehicle and location information in real-time on an integrated map. With a simple notification or a quick glance, users can see whether their friends, fellow group members, or the local RoadStr community are willing to meetup or are going for a drive nearby. Ad-hoc meetups can be created through a simple RoadSharing request process, and more participants can join on the fly. Cruising local routes, meeting club members, or making new friends who share a common passion was never so easy. The map feature is further enhanced with nearby events taking

place in the upcoming days, and with quality local automotive businesses waiting to be discovered. RoadStr raises the standard even further through its high-quality content generated by its users, groups, and businesses, all packaged in an easily discoverable manner through automatic suggestions tailored to your interests and favorite car brands. And it’s all encapsulated in a beautiful, simple, and familiar design. The idea for the app stemmed from the lack of a robust and comprehensive social platform focused on the auto enthusiast community. Currently as auto enthusiasts, we have to visit multiple websites, check out YouTube videos, join chats on various platforms, find events by word-ofmouth, and post on complicated forums often without any local emphasis, making it difficult and time-consuming to follow your favorite auto topics or to meet other enthusiasts. Generic platforms like Facebook and Instagram offer plenty of methods to share, but they lack the depth of features like

groups, events, and spontaneous meetups that bring us together as auto enthusiasts in the real world. “The auto enthusiast community is a very social group”, said Alberto Moreno, Co-Founder and CEO of RoadStr. “The best moments often occur in person, when randomly spotting your favorite car on the street, at local auto shows, or getting a coffee with your local car club” RoadStr is free and was just launched for iPhone and Android devices. You can download the app today and start driving your passion forward. Available on the Apple App Store and Google Play: RoadStr – For Car Enthusiasts Website: www.roadstr.io Email: hello@roadstr.io Instagram: @roadstr_app

Garden Secrets Summer has arrived and gardens are abloom. We are fortunate enough to live in a climate that allows is to maintain our garden's health year-round. Here are our 10 favorite simple tricks for every home landscaper: 1. Coffee K-cups make great seed starters. Instead of discarding used coffee pods, use them for seedlings and clippings to cultivate new plants. 2. Milk jugs can double as perfect watering cans. Just punch a few holes in the lid and you can create a receptacle with less evaporation than a traditional watering can. 3. Fill those empty wine bottles with water then place them upside down

in your planter. The slow drip will satisfy any thirsty plant and require much less maintenance. 4. One of our favorite hints for those who use coffee filters: Placing them in the bottom of flower pots keeps the dirt from spilling out of the bottom weep hole. 5.
