Alternate History

American SF Classics

The old saying is the third time’s the charm—well, this is the third year of the Alternate History Track and this time, we’re pulling out all the stops and going into the past...and even back to the future! The Time Travelers’ Ball will be even bigger and better than last year, so wear your finest historical, steampunk, or fantastical garb and dance and socialize the night away. Learn about re-imagined superheroes, brave and fearless Scots warriors, steampunk and historical costuming, and even the secrets of practical time travel from experts, scholars, writers, artists and creators. You can witness spirited debates, expand your mind, and load up your smartphone with pictures of some of the best-dressed folks at Dragon*Con. And on that note, if you are dressed in steampunk attire on Saturday, we are going to try once again to make a world’s record...so be sure to program your timetraveling device to our frequencies in the Wild, Wild Westin over the Labor Day weekend!

Join us this year as we once again take you back to a more simple time. Along the way we will be joined by some old friends like Richard Hatch and Virginia Hey as well as some new ones, like Christopher Lloyd, James Darren and Howard Hesseman. You will also find some new panels, like “Match Game in the 25th Century” as well as some of your favorite panels like “Stump the Geeks” and “Faith and Fantasy.”

American SF Media Start with us to see if we cover what you watch! American SF Media is the fantrack to check out at this year’s con! Lots of guests from some of your favorite shows! We’ll be covering old favorites like Battlestar: Galactica and its spinoffs, Chuck, Eureka, Sanctuary, and V. This year though we have panels on innovative shows coming out on some different outlets like Game of Thrones and Camelot, even taking a look at what our friends at Syfy are coming up with! We’ll have a panel on the web series you should be watching. With Smallville ending we’ll be having guest and fan panels with a look back over ten years. Truly an unusual lifespan for a genre show. We’re even going to delve into the geekcentric comedy of Big Bang Theory! And don’t forget!
