DOWNTOWN SAFETY REPORT 2nd HALF OF 2015 Significant reduction in violent crime. Overall larcenies are down. Continue to stress the Clean Car Campaign through Downtown partners. Reach out to Visitors and Event Attendees prior to their arrival where possible to be informed about Clean Car Campaign to apply simple practices.  Addressing Quality of Life issues – some violent crime related to this area.  Continuing Community Policing throughout the City, but especially in Downtown.  Predictive Policing, Video Integration Center (VIC), and local (Zone 5) monitoring enhancing prevention and enforcement initiatives.

CASINO GAMING STUDY CAP is facilitating a study of the opportunity and impact of casino gaming in Atlanta Intended to educate business community and policy makers and inform policy decision as to what it would take to realize such a gaming attraction Explores ultimate impacts, positive and negative, as well as • ability to generate additional revenue for economic development /or other specific causes • impact on hospitality, arts, and other related industries • impact on “societal ills” including crime, gambling dependency, homelessness rates, etc.


MEMORIAL DRIVE ATLANTA • By some estimates, more than $1 billion in new investment is coming to Memorial Drive neighborhoods over next few years • This position grew out of Imagine Memorial study performed by planning students at Georgia Tech. It builds on years of planning and organizing by local residents and developers, including active CAP members like Urban Realty Partners, Integral, and Paces Properties • Greg Giuffrida is the Corridor Executive working with neighborhoods, property owners, developers, and public agencies to make Memorial Drive a safer and more attractive mixed-use corridor and connection to Downtown.
