niciamos el segundo semestre del año y con ello las fiestas de bienvenida del inicio del nuevo ciclo escolar, las elecciones de las nuevas sociedades de alumnos y reinas de cada escuela y por supuesto que dos8 estará ahí para traerte las mejores imágenes de todos esos eventos. En esta ocasión nuestra portada la engalan los hermanos Gemma y Orvin Ramos León quienes muy amablemente accedieron a ser imagen de nuestra portada de Agosto, la sesión fue en el Restaurante Sonora Grill, los invitamos a que lean la interesante entrevista que tuvimos con los hermanos Ramos y aprovechamos para agradecerles su tiempo para la sesión.
Welcome back to classes! We are just starting the second semester of the year and that means that there will be a lot of welcome parties at the beginning of the school year, the election of the new students’ society and the queens of each school and of course dos8 has to be there to bring you all the best photos. In the cover of this month, we can read about two siblings, Gemma and Orvin Ramos Leon. They happily accepted our offer to be part of this month’s cover. The session was done at Sonora Grill Restaurant. We invite you to read the interesting interview we had with them and we want to thank them for being here with us.

infidelidades El 15 de julio en el Hotel Sheraton se ofreció una rueda de prensa por parte del actor Omar Fierro, esto para realizar la presentación formal de la obra teatral Infidelidades. Un día después, el 16 de julio, el telón del teatro Vallarta se abrió para llevar a cabo la puesta en escena con la participación de actores de la televisión mexicana como Omar Fierro, Alfredo Adame, la actriz y cantante Laura Flores, Erika Buenfil y Natasha Dupeyrón. La obra de comedia fue disfrutada por la sociedad de Vallarta, la cual pasó un rato divertido y ameno con la gran actuación de cada uno de los participantes.
Theater Play “Infidelity.” On the 15th of July, there was a press conference at the Sheraton Hotel. The actor Omar Fierro organized this event to present the theatre play “Infidelities” formally. One day after, on the 16th of July; the curtain of the Vallarta Theatre went up so that people could enjoy this play. The cast was Omar Fierro, Alfredo Adame, the actress and singer Laura Flores, Erika Buenfil and Natasha Dupeyron, who are famous actors and actresses of our Mexican Television. The comedy play was enjoyed by Vallarta society, who spent a very funny and pleasant night with the performance of these great actors and actresses.

festejó su quinceavo aniversario El Campus Vallarta celebró su XV Aniversario Institucional con diferentes actividades que enmarcaron este importante evento, en la cual se contó con la presencia del Lic. Jorge Richardi Rochin, Rector de esta Universidad; donde se realizó un Desayuno con los alumnos más sobresalientes para felicitar y reconocer su mérito académico. Para la celebración se hizo la tradicional partida pastel, realizado por los estudiantes de gastronomía, en donde más de 200 alumnos se dieron cita para disfrutarlo, también se develó un muro conmemorativo de los quince años donde alumnos, docentes y personal directivo plasmaron sus huellas para la posteridad. Finalmente el Rector de Universidad Vizcaya, Lic. Jorge Richardi cerró con una emotiva conferencia titulada ¿hay que fracasar primero para triunfar después? En donde compartió con los jóvenes su experiencia personal y empresarial.
VIZCAYA UNIVRSIY CELEBRATED THEIR FIFTEENTH ANNIVERSARY Campus Vallarta celebrated their first XVth Institutional Anniversary with different activities through all the event. One of the activities was, the breakfast in which Lic. Jorge Richardi Rochin, Rector of the University; congratulated and recognized the academic performance of the outstanding students. Over 200 students were gathered to enjoy the traditional moment of sharing the cake, which was prepared by the Gastronomy students. There was also the unveil of a commemorative XV-year wall where students, teachers, directors and administrative staff placed their hands to be handed down. Finally, the rector of the Vizcaya University, Lic. Jorge Richardi closed the celebration with a touching talk called “Do we have to fail in order to succeed?” where he could share with the young people his personal and entrepreneur experience. Av. En nuestra portada Vallarta, dos8 trae para ti a los hermanos Gemma y Orvin Ramos León, quienes nos platican un poco de lo que hacen, lo que les gusta y les apasiona en la vida. Gemma Elymar, tiene 26 años y su signo zodiacal es Sagitario. Actualmente se dedica a la administración de una constructora pero desea continuar estudiando una segunda carrera universitaria para crecer profesionalmente y de manera personal luchar por ser mejor ser humano y vibrar siempre en positivo. Durante la charla que tuvimos con la guapa Gemma, nos platico que los hombres detallistas, caballerosos y seguros de si mismo son los que la conquistan. Ella se describe como una mujer emprendedora, con valores, trabajadora, decidida y muy femenina. Para mantenerse en forma cuida su alimentación, hace ejercicio y descansa. Una de las cosas favoritas que le gusta hacer es practicar el baile además le gusta leer novelas de Nicholas Sparks y su cantante favorito es Alejandro Fernández. Respecto a quién admira, Gemma Elymar respondió que admira a sus padres, “son un ejemplo de amor, dedicación y lucha constante para hacer de cada día algo especial. Son mi fortaleza y mi refugio a la vez. Todo lo que soy, es el resultado de sus esfuerzos, amor y paciencia”. Una de las cosas que más le llaman la atención a Gemma es la situación actual en la que se encuentra nuestro país, a lo que ella opina, “México tiene gran potencial y nos corresponde a nosotros los jóvenes dejar en claro que podemos hacer la diferencia basándonos en la educación y en la calidad moral”. “Uno llega tan lejos como se lo propone. Se requiere perseverancia y esfuerzo constante para alcanzar las metas.” Una de las frases favoritas de Gemma es “100% actitud positiva” así como condidera que los jóvenes deben de tener confianza en sí mismos porque al final de cuentas eso es lo importante. Finalmente, para ella, participar en la portada de dos8 fue una experiencia padrísima. Ya que le gusta la frescura e interés que tienen por la juventud de su ciudad.
In our cover, dos 8 invited two siblings Gemma and Orvin Ramos León, who told us a little bit about the things they do, the things they like and what they really love doing. Gemma Elymar is 26 years old and Sagittarius. Nowadays, she is the manager at a construction business, but she wishes she would keep on studying. She would like to study a second bachelor to grow more in the professional area. In her personal life, she is not only trying to be a better human being, but also a very positive one. While we were talking, the beautiful Gemma told us that the men who are thoughtful, gentle and self-confident are the ones who can win her heart. She describes herself as an entrepreneur woman with a lot of values who is a hard-working, decisive and very feminine one as well. To keep fit, she takes care of her food, and practices some exercise, but takes time to rest which also helps her. One of her favourite hobbies is to dance. She also likes to read Nicholas Sparks’ novels and her favourite singer is Alejandro Fernandez. Talking about the person to whom she admires, Gemma Elymar told us that she looks up to her parents and addressed that “they are an example of love, dedication and constant effort to make every day a very special one. They are my strength and shelter, too. All I am is because of their love, patience and effort. ” Something that calls her attention is our country’s actual economic situation. She told us, “Mexico has great future and it is up to us to make the difference. We can do it based on education and moral quality.” She also told us, “we can go as far as we want. Perseverance and constant effort are needed to reach a goal.” One of her favourite phrases is “100% positive attitude”. She thinks that young people should be confident, because that is what matters. For her, to be part of the cover of dos8 was an incredible experience. She likes the freshness and interest young people in her city have.

Orvin Antonio, tiene 29 años y su signo zodiacal es escorpión. Actualmente se desempeña como médico estético con aspiraciones a que más personas conozcan su trabajo, así como encontrar pareja y en un futuro formar una familia, además desea convertirse en referencia de la medicina estética. Durante una amena charla que dos8 tuvo con Orvin, nos cuenta que a él lo conquistan por el estomago (ríe), y que la seguridad y honestidad son algunas de las cualidades atractivas que busca en una mujer, así como unos lindos ojos. Orvin se describe como un hombre leal, seguro y comprometido. Para mantenerse en forma, él cuida su alimentación, acude todos los días al gimnasio y practica futbol. Le preguntamos a Orvin, a quién admira, a lo que respondió “a mi padre”. El apuesto joven, no tiene una marca de ropa preferida, puesto que considera que mientras le queden y sean de buena calidad, basta. La frase favorita de Orvin es “too blessed to be stressed”, teniendo un fuerte significado para él. Un consejo que le da a la juventud de hoy en día, es que no pierdan el tiempo. Para él, su familia es amor y algunas de las cosas que más disfruta hacer es escuchar a Francisco Céspedes, jugar futbol e ir al gimnasio. Su libro favorito es La Novia Oscura de Laura Restrepo. Finalmente, en la charla que tuvimos con Orvin, expresó que participar para la portada de dos8 fue una experiencia agradable, “agradezco mucho la invitación y sin duda lo volvería a hacer, porque son una excelente revista de sociales”.
Orvin Antonio is 29 years old and his zodiac is Scorpion. Nowadays, he is working as an aesthetic doctor (cosmetic surgeon). He wants more people to know about his job and become a good reference when talking about the aesthetic medicine. He would also like to find his perfect match and in the future, to have a family. While dos 8 was having this amusing talk, he told us that his heart can be easily won by his stomach (laughter). He also told us that security and honesty are two of the most important and attractive qualities he looks for in a woman, and of course, two beautiful eyes. Orvin describes himself as a loyal, self-secure and passionate person. To be in shape, he takes care of the things he eats. He goes to the gym, every day and practices soccer. We also asked him who he admires, he answered that he looks up to his father. This handsome man doesn’t have a favourite clothing brand, because he thinks that it is not important. For him, it is more than enough to see that the quality of the clothing he wears is good and that the clothing fits him well. His favourite phrase is, “too blessed to be stressed,” and it has had a great meaning for him. If he has to give advice to the young people nowadays, he would tell them not to waste their time. For him, his family represents love, and some of the things he enjoys the most are to listen to Francisco Cespedes, play soccer and go to the gym. His favourite book is “La Novia Oscura” by Laura Restrepo. Finally, Orvin mentioned that to be part of the cover of Dos8 was a very nice experience. He told us, “I really thank you for the invitation and without hesitation I would do it again. You are an excellent magazine.”

iNauguración aula magna de juicios orales Buscando siempre la excelencia académica en la formación de sus estudiantes, la Universidad Vizcaya de las Américas inauguró su Sala de Juicios Orales, espacio que servirá para la práctica de los jóvenes en material de oralidad para sus alumnos de Derecho y Criminología. El evento estuvo engalanado con la presencia del Dr. Miguel Carbonell, cuya sala de juicios fue nombrada en su honor, de igual forma la presencia del Rector de Universidad Vizcaya de las Américas Lic. Jorge Richardi, quien destacó la importante trayectoria académica del constitucionalista y el Director del Campus Vallarta Lic. Manuel De la Mora, quien agradeció la presencia de autoridades de primer nivel a la ceremonia inaugural entre los que destacan jueces y directores de Instituciones del Poder Judicial de la ciudad.
OPENING OF THE MAIN LECTURE HALL DEVOTED TO TRIALS AT VIZCAYA UNIVERSITY Vizcaya de las Americas University is always looking for the academic excellence when talking about education for their students. Therefore, the university inaugurated their trial hall. This space will be used for the Law and Criminology students to practice their trial material. The event was decked out for the presence of Dr. Miguel Carbonell. In fact, the hall was named after him. The rector of Vizcaya de las Americas University, Mr. Jorge Richardi, was there as well, and he addressed the importance of the academic career of the founder and headmaster of Campus Vallarta, Lic. Manuel De la Mora, who thanked the presence of the first level authorities to the opening ceremony. Among them, there were some judges and headmasters of several institutions of the Judicial Power of the city.

bachilleres univa Por Carmina López Con una asistencia superior a las 300 personas se efectúo la cena-baile tradicional que ofrece la Univa, Campus Puerto Vallarta, para celebrar a sus graduados de Bachillerato. Padres de familia y amigos de los 46 graduados llegaron a conocido hotel de la Región entusiastas, alegres y vestidos de gala dispuestos a bailar toda la noche. El menú fue del agrado de todos, el personal de cocina sirvió ensalada de frutas, salmón en salsa de champiñón y tiramisú de moka. Tras concluir el ambigú fue momento para celebrar durante horas al ritmo de la música oldie, electrónica, pop, salsa, banda, rock y merengue. El maestro Luis Ignacio Zúñiga, director general de la Univa-PV deseó el mejor de los éxitos a los egresados de Bachillerato y a sus padres agradeció la confianza depositada en la Universidad Católica.

Univa, Campus Puerto Vallarta organized the traditional graduation ball to celebrate with their graduated students. There were over 300 people invited to the party. Parents, family and friends. of the 46 graduates, arrived in the well-known hotel from the region. All the people were enthusiastic, happy and dressed formally willing to dance all night long. The menu which was delicious, was fruit cocktail, salmon in mushroom sauce and as dessert a slice of Mocha Tiramisu. After dinner, it was time to celebrate to the rhythm of some oldie, electronic, pop, salsa, banda, rock and merengue music which was played for hours. Teacher Luis Ignacio Zuñiga, headmaster of UNIVA- PV; wished the best and a lot of success to the graduated students and thanked their parents for trusting the Catholic school and for letting their children study here.

Fuentes La generación 2012-2015 de Bachillerato de la Universidad del Valle de Atemajac campus Puerto Vallarta recibió sus documentos de manos del presbítero Licenciado Paulo González Enríquez, director de Desarrollo Institucional del Sistema Univa. El solemne acto tuvo lugar en conocido hotel de la región, donde padres de familia y amigos acompañaron y celebraron este emotivo momento. Cabe destacar que egresaron con especialidad en Higiene y Salud Comunitaria (grupo A), Administración Turística (grupo B) e Informática (grupo C). Además Paulo González Enríquez, con la representación del padre rector, presbítero licenciado Francisco Ramírez Yáñez, entregó un reconocimiento especial a los jóvenes con mejor promedio así como el premio “Joven Capaz” para los egresados con excelencia académica. Al concluir el acto académico, de las manos de los graduados despegaron sus birretes; pletóricos de felicidad recorrieron el salón hasta llegar con sus invitados de honor. Sus padres los recibieron con abrazos y sonrisas.

The 2012-2015 Generation from the University of Valle de Atejamac High School, Campus Puerto Vallarta received their official papers from Priest Paulo González Enríquez, headmaster of the Institutional System at Univa. This formal act took place in a well-known hotel, where parents, family and friends accompanied the students to celebrate with them in a very touching way. Some of the specialities the students did were Community Hygiene and Health (group A). Tourist Management (group B) and Computing (group C). Besides giving their official papers, Priest Paulo González Enríquez, as the representative of the headmaster and priest Francisco Ramírez Yáñez; gave some awards to the students with the best average in school and a very special award to the students with academic excellence. The award was called “The Most Capable Student” When the ceremony was over, the students threw their birettas as a sign of their happiness. Then they walked through the room until they arrived to where their honour guests were. Their parents received them with hugs and smiles.

On the 23rd of July, there was a presentation of the program “Liveliness” of the San Javier Hospital. The event was held at the Beach Club Mango´s. This program is about helping all the personnel from the member companies, with an exclusive model of yearly integral exams through check-ups, and a welfare plan depending on the patient. Liveliness can be adapted to each person’s necessities. It can be for hotel members, educative institutions, airports and enterprises. Liveliness means vivacity, and represents the lifelines that emerge as extension of San Javier Hospital. We reach the patient and adapt the environment to have a doctor’s office. We accompany the patient to his activities bringing working medicine and agreements with the companies to take better care of their personnel.

La pequeña Camila Vega fue bautizada el 11 de julio en una bonita misa, sus papás el Dr. Horacio Vega y la señora Gabriela Macías estuvieron muy contentos porque su bebé recibió el primer sacramento teniendo como padrinos a la señora Aracely Peña de Vega y al Dr. Hugo Vega. Después de la celebración eucarística los papás, padrinos e invitados se trasladaron al Club de golf El Tigre, donde pasaron una agradable tarde y disfrutaron de la deliciosa comida.

Camila Vega was Christened On the 11th of July, little Camila Vega was baptized in a very nice mass. Their parents are Dr. Horacio Vega and Mrs. Gabriela Macias. Both of them were very happy because of Camila’s baptism. Her Godparents are Mrs. Aracely Peña de Vega and Dr. Hugo Vega. After the religious ceremony, Camila’s parents, Godparents and guests went to Golf Club El Tigre, where they spent an excellent evening and enjoyed their delicious food. egresados del pepe se convierten en embajadores de Jalisco ante el mundo
Con la participación de 35 estudiantes procedentes de 18 universidades de otros países como Canadá, Estados Unidos, Alemania, Reino Unido y Corea, se dio por terminada la primera edición del Programa de Español Para Extranjeros (PEPE) en una emotiva ceremonia realizada en el centro Universitario de la Costa (CUCosta) de la Universidad de Guadalajara (UdeG). El curso, se realizó del 26 de junio al 26 de julio y fue impartido por profesores del CUCSH y del Centro Universitario de Ciencias Económico Administrativas (CUCEA). Tres semanas en el CUCEA y una semana más en el Centro Universitario de la Costa (Puerto Vallarta). Como parte del programa, 70 estudiantes de la Universidad de Guadalajara (35 de CUCEA y 35 de CUCOSTA) participaron en actividades de internacionalización, tales como las sesiones conversacionales denominadas Tándem, las cuales les permiten desarrollar sus habilidades interculturales, además de practicar y reforzar sus habilidades comunicativas en una lengua extranjera. Las actividades incluyeron visitas al lago de Chapala, Tlaquepaque y Tequila, así como una visita a una función de lucha libre, en la arena Coliseo.
Graduated students from PEPE program became ambassadors from Jalisco to the world 35 students from 18 universities from countries such as Canada, The United States, Germany, Great Britain and Korea were part of a program called Spanish program for foreign people, or PEPE as the Spanish abbreviation. At the end of the course, there was a very touching ceremony held at the University Centre of la Costa (CuCosta) of the University of Guadalajara (UdeG). The course was given from the 26th June to the 26th of July by teachers of CUCSH and of the University Centre of Economical and Administrative Sciences (CUCEA). They were three weeks at CUCEA and one week at University Centre of la Costa (Puerto Vallarta). As part of the program, 70 students from the University of Guadalajara (35 from CUCEA and 35 from CuCosta) participated in the internationalization activities such as conversational sessions called Tandem, which help students not only to develop intercultural abilities, but also to practice and reinforce their communicative abilities while learning a foreign language. The activities included visits to Chapala lake, Tlaquepaque and Tequila. They also went to a freestyle wrestling performance at the Coliseo Arena.

Gathering for the elementary school graduates at Arisocale School There was a very nice breakfast enjoyed by the good friends Daniela, Ximena, Rubén, David, Osmar, César and Brian and their families to celebrate the ending of a stage in their lives. They finished their elementary school studies at Arisocale School, as part of the generation 2009-2015. All of them tasted very delicious dishes prepared by Maluck Restaurant. The event was organized by the mothers of the graduates. Graduates and guests had a great time remembering the most emotional moments at school and enjoying the present at breakfast time.

Graduated Ceremony at J.J. Fernandez de Lizardi School On the 10th of July, J.J. Fernandez School prepared the academic ceremony for the graduated students of the elementary school section, generation 2012-2015. The directive staff of the school gave recognition not only to the graduated students, but also to the teachers in charge of their civic education. The students with the best performance of each generation received a medal, as an award and as a way to encourage them to be better every day. Congratulations to all of them!

concluye campaña de limpieza de playas El 1 de agosto, concluyó la campaña de limpieza de playas de Puerto Vallarta, la cual estuvo patrocinada por la empresa Barefoot Wine, quien junto con la coordinación del sector empresarial a través de la Cámara Nacional de Comercio (CANACO) presidida por Teresita Marmolejo. El informa de labores tuvo lugar en Mantamar, donde se dieron cita representantes de las empresas así como los organizadores del evento. Después de dar a conocer los resultados finales de los trabajos realizados desde el 27 de julio con la limpieza de playas, los invitados disfrutaron de un coctel por parte de los anfitriones.
Barefood Wine, Beach Cleaning Campaign is over. The first of August, the beach cleaning campaign in Puerto Vallarta was over. The campaign was sponsored by the Barefoot Wine Company along with the coordination of entrepreneur sector through the National Commerce Chamber (CANACO) whose headmaster is Teresita Marmolejo. The report was held at Mantamar, where the representative people of the companies and the organizers of the event had the opportunity to review the outcome of the work that was done at the beaches since July the 27th.
