Every year the world-class St Magnus Festival brings international orchestras, acclaimed soloists, theatre and dance companies, poets, authors, bands and visual artists to Orkney. There is a packed schedule giving you several performances to choose from every day. You can expect interesting venues, such as St Magnus Cathedral, the Italian Chapel or even a parish hall. Drama, circus and cabaret are represented at the fringe festival, Magfest, and there are always family-friendly performances that children will love. The Pier Arts Centre in Stromness houses one of the most remarkable collections of 20th century British art anywhere in the UK.
