The overall sha pe of Virginia's scenario does not d iffe r in any basic way from the other abduction accounts we have been examining. Despite its science fiction aspects, Virginia 's nar· rative is supported by i n t e rn al evidence. First, there is the deta i l of the blood on her blouse . Its presence is confirmed by her fami1y, and it was even recorded on film. The bl ood was the result of a probe of some kind inserted into her left n ostril to take blood a nd tissue samples. In another case, Betty Andreasson4 was abducted in 1967, though the encounter was not investigated for a decade. Under hypnosis, Betty recalled being on t he examining table: BA:
