Bringing quality furniture back from the dead and making it hauntingly beautiful. Discovered in an antiques fair in Nantes, France this fabulous salon chair has been covered in a Victorian Lady's, black velvet, riding jacket. The original buttons run down the centre of the back rest. The seat is made from a vintage gold and black, narrow stripe lining, edged with black velvet. The whole chair has been double piped. Now for a surprise, when you turn the chair around the strap, that would have fixed the riding jacket to a skirt, has been attached to the backrest and inside it has the Lady's name - Miss Anne - written on it. The strap is held together with its original, tiny hook and eye. The chair frame has been in a matt taupe coloured paint from a range bought in Paris. It is beautifully ornate with a centre post at the back. This chair has a history that is evident the minute you cast an eye over it. Measurements: 192 cm High x 47cm Wide x 45cm Deep Height to seat 45 cm

Bringing quality furniture back from the dead and making it hauntingly beautiful. This beautiful Louis chair, found in a Brocante in Northern France had seen better days but after some restoration it started to shine. Some areas still have the marks of age so we thought it fit to cover it in a vintage, black canvas fabric and write a famous quotation by the late Salvador Dali - 'Have no fear of perfection you'll never reach it' What could be more apt? The lettering has been applied in the same paint that was used on the chair frame - a deep rich copper. A shining example of Ghost Furniture. Measurements: 94cms High x 62cms Wide x 53cms Deep. Height to seat 38cms

Bringing quality furniture back from the dead and making it hauntingly beautiful. We have owned this Singer sewing table since the 1980s. Bought from an antiques dealer in Newcastle upon Tyne. It was time to part with it but not before we did something very special. The table has been finished with a pale grey, matt paint from a range bought in Paris. The lid of the table has been finished in matt black with a stunning array of trompe l'eol, vintage sewing items.Take a really close look and we defy you not to want to pick them up. Thread and ribbon trail off the lid onto the table, crochet hooks, buttons and old spools of cotton defy the eye. This table has a deep well inside which would have originally held the sewing machine but can now be used to store your own sewing implements. A true work of art done by Sabina Rose, an artist of note, who lives in our region of Northumberland. Measurements: 74cm High x 89cm Wide x 42cm Deep.

Bringing quality furniture back from the dead and making it hauntingly beautiful. We found this console table with a lion's leg in a car boot fair in Penrith. It was in a sad state and was given to a carpenter to give it some emergency treatment. Once it was back on its feet it was obvious that the lions leg should be just that. The finish is so realistic you have to touch it to realise it is only painted. Painted in Farrow and Ball off-Black eggshell and treated with Ghost's special smooth wax finish this sad old lion became king of the jungle. Measurements: 78cm High x 89cm Wide x 45cm Deep

Bringing quality furniture back from the dead and making it hauntingly beautiful. This table belonged to an artist - an ideal piece to create a still life in 3D. The bowl, vase, gorgeously ornate spoon, the delightful ice cream bowl with two delicate pigeons and the glorious tassle were found at an antiques fair in Paris. We gave all but the tassle a copper finish and fixed them to the table. We needed deep rich colour so the fruit and vegetables found at The Ham Fair in Paris, (from an old chacuterie), were left untreated and placed in the bowl - not fixed. Two gorgeous perpetual roses, treated to remain soft and fresh to the eye and touch, placed in the vase surrounded by reindeer moss. The table itself is just as we found it apart from highlighting the ornate decorations in copper. It was originally laquered. This has faded and worn but we felt this added to its charm and for once we left it alone. A still life portrait in 3D.

Bringing quality furniture back from the dead and making it hauntingly beautiful. This elegant little chair was found in a Country House clearance. Small enough for a child and beautifully proportioned. The Girl's Sunday Best Hat came from an old Hat Shop in France that was being cleared and it was found in an old storeroom, it dates from the 1920s. We bought 7 of them so watch out for more. The hat has been stiffened and finished in the same colours as the chair Taupe and Copper. The taupe paint was found in Paris and is the best matt finish ever, the chair was then treated with Ghost’s special smooth wax finish. A new seat was made and covered in a vintage herringbone Russian Linen. This linen gets better with age becoming soft and tactile. The Hat is fixed to the chair as if waiting for the owner to pick it up and put it on for Sunday Best. Bringing quality furniture back from the dead and making it hauntingly beautiful. This otherwise ordinary coffee table found in a Depot Vente just outside Paris needed a lot of TLC. Drawn by its elegant shape we set to and transformed it into a piece of art by draping and sculpting a damask napkin, fixing a milk jug, sugar bowl and coffee pot, all found in the same Depot Vente, to the table top. The whole piece was then finished in Pewter. This would make a wonderful statement in maybe a cafe as it could be suspended and tilted with a spotlight pointed on it - just one idea! Bringing quality furniture back from the dead and making it hauntingly beautiful. Found in a very interesting house clearance in Northumberland this original Danish retro chair is of the highest quality. To add a new twist to it we upholstered it with a very interesting fabric. Voyage was a fashion store in London that was very particular about who they allowed through the door, hence the reason they eventually closed. This fabric - a faux leather with the most amazing gold embroidery - was made available to us from their stock. We finished the chair with a matt black paint and Ghost’s special smooth wax finish. This was a brave and bold thing to do to a retro chair but we think it was so worth it and above all else it is comfortable beyond belief. Measurements: 99cm High x 72cm Wide x 70cm Deep. Height to seat 41cm.

Bringing quality furniture back from the dead and making it hauntingly beautiful. Well what can we say? We found this footstool in an antiques centre in Ely, Cambridge and the owner of the place thought we were mad to buy it, yes even the owner. It was covered in a disgusting fun fur but we saw it's potential immediately. Being made from 4 ball and claw feet from an antique bath makes it very heavy. The chosen fabric to replace the awful fun fur was to be from Voyage which was a fashion store in London that was very particular about who they allowed through the door, hence the reason they eventually closed. This fabric - a faux leather with the most amazing gold embroidery - was made available to us from their stock. We love this piece beyond belief, it's quirky, fun and elegant all at the same time. I finished the frame and all the accessories in a gorgeous matt black paint found in Paris also then these were all treated with Ghost’s special smooth wax finish.
