Reflex-drainage

In Chan’beauté and Dien Chan, preparation for the client is essential for best results. This protocol is simple, gentle massages which, thanks to the sensitivity of our face, communicate directly with the brain. It can be applied at the beginning of the session to relax the client and to relieve surface pain that causes stress to the skin. We “prepare the ground” to be more responsive to precise stimulations. Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) requires a certified therapist to perform the treatment, however as the Reflex-drainage protocol, (also called the 6 zones massage) does not work directly on the major lymph node clusters placed along the larger of the lymph vessels, there is no possibility of creating a lymphatic blockage. Rather, it sends signals to the brain, which in turn, activates the nodes to drain themselves.

Preparation

The Reflex-drainage protocol is based on the Dien Chan diagram of the reflection on the face of the extremities (red man/ blue woman). To obtain the best results select the multireflex tool best adapted to the shape and skin type of the face; the triple end of the Comet detector nº133, or the smooth sphere of Detector n°101. Both permit a soft and steady sweeping action. If, during the treatment the skin is pulling, use a drop of light oil or light moisturizer to reduce friction. Sweep each area noted in the steps about 30 times, twice a day. This can be repeated up to four times a day if there is a lot of edema (water retention) in the feet, ankles, legs and arms.

Though clients come to resolve visible issues and restore their beauty, we know that Chan’beauté allows us to add a therapeutic dimension to the æsthetic treatment. —2—

OBJECTIVES

࿤࿤ Enhance skin tone. ࿤࿤ Enhance hydration and cell regeneration. ࿤࿤ Improve lymphatic system to facilitate drainage. R E S U LT S

࿤࿤ From the first session.

Six easy steps

PROFESSIONAL CARE

࿤࿤ Twice a week.

1

Inner corner of the eye On the side of the nose gently sweep up and down from the inner corner of the eye towards the inner edge of the eyebrow. Starting on the left, work both sides. The diagram reflects the neck, the armpit; the area where the lymphatic liquid reaches the bloodstream, and the arm. As in Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD), it is the first step to opening the lymph nodes that correspond to the left and right internal jugular vein and the left and right subclavian arteries.

2

The nose Gently sweep up and down the centre of the nose about 30 times. This area corresponds to the thoracic duct, (the longest and largest lymph vessel, which starts in the abdomen and ends at the base of the neck) and the right lymphatic duct. Both ducts drain lymph liquid into the circulatory (blood) system, so that excess fluid and toxins may be expelled by the body. On the diagram, the nose is the reflection of the spine and back.

3

The nasal wings Following the small crease, sweep up and down about 30 times from the top of the nasal wing to the bottom of the nostril, starting on the left side, then repeating on the right. On the diagram, this area corresponds to the inguinal lymph nodes (the groin), the popliteal lymph nodes (the hollow at the back of the knee) and the legs.

4

Rictus line Sweep up and down along both rictus lines (smile) where it meets the top edge of the nasal wing down to the corner of the mouth, again 30 times starting on the left side. On the diagram this area corresponds to the inguinal lymph nodes (the groin), the popliteal lymph nodes (the hollow at the back of the knee) and the buttocks and thighs. As well, the diagram of the Viscera on the face (internal organs) reflects the lymph nodes in the small intestine and the abdomen.

5

Chin crease Sweep the chin along the horizontal crease about 30 times. As seen on the diagram, as well as the ankles, often an area for edema (swelling), here we are also stimulating the lymph nodes in the abdomen and groin area, as reflected on the diagram of the Viscera on the face.

6

Lateral of the ears As in MLD, the “lymph node net” must be closed to complete the treatment. Sweep around the ears, coming from the back to the front, about 30 times. For ladies with long hair, a clip to keep it back will prevent it from being tangled in the multireflex tool. The lymph nodes in the neck and the retroaruicular lymph nodes just below the ear are reflected on the neck of the Dien Chan “Penfield” diagram. —5—

History of Dien Chan

The roots of Multireflexology - Dien Chan, began in 1975 with the work of Professor Bùi Quôc Châu. Following the end of the war in Vietnam, Professor Châu started treating many patients suffering with a variety of ailments and injuries. From his early work he developed a hypothesis, that parts of the body, internal and external as well as the complex body systems (Cardiovascular, Respiratory, Endocrine, etc.), were reflected on the face. He began his work on this theory by treating many people with severe addictions to drugs (a byproduct of the war) and correctly verified his hypothesis in 1980. Approximately 20 years later in 2001, Patryck Aguilar Cassarà met with Prof. Châu and became a passionate student of the modality. It was Patryck’s goal to share this knowledge with the western world. In 2002, by working in close collaboration with Prof. Châu and his sons, the International School of Multireflexology - Dien Chan (EiMDC) was created in Barcelona, Spain. Soon after creation of the school Patryck published Multifreflexology course books in a variety of languages and in 2013 developed and made available Faceasit, an interactive App available at AppleStore. Faceasit’clinic is an essential tool for therapists to build formulas for treatments and share those treatments with clients, complete with diagrams to allow them to continue working on themselves at home. In addition the research department of EiMDC also developed the æsthetic facial technique called Chan’beauté now also available as an App from the brand page. The EiMDC with a membership of over three thousand students worldwide, has over 15 years of teaching experience, counts with more than 15 teachers worldwide and is your best resource for Multireflexology - Dien Chan. —6—
