Château d’Ygrande A privileged situation Going across France from the North to the South or from the East to the West, you'll find ata bend in the path Ygrande and its castle in front ot the Bourbon country. Lovers of large spaces will be quite satisfied in this XIXth century magnificent castle giving over the Bourbonnais bocage, from the heights of its hill. Coming from Moulins (29km) From Moulins, cross the Allier by the bridge of Regemortes and at the 2nd turnover, take the direction of Bourbon l'Archambault by the D 953. Go through Saint-Menoux..By-pass Bourbon by the D953 and go on in direction of Ygrande. 6 kms after Bourbon, take the D18 on the left toward the Castle of Ygrande and follow road signs. Coming from Montluçon (40km) Leaving Montluçon by Désertines (N144) then take on the right the D94 direction the entrance of A 71 motorway to Bourges. Just before the tollgate, take on the left toward Cosne d'Allier by the D94 Cross Cosne d'Allier ; at the turnover at the exit of the town, take twice on the left toward Moulins then Ygrande by the D94. Arriving in Ygrande, take on the right direction Bourbon l'Archambault and Château d'Ygrande. 2,5 km after leaving the village, take the D18 on the right direction Château d'Ygrande and follow road signs to the castle. Coming from Vichy (68km) Cross Saint-Pourçain and take the direction Monmarault by the D46. 2 kms farther, take the D1 on the right, toward Le Montet. Cross Le Montet and take at the edge of the village on the left the direction of Bourbon l'Archambault by the D1. Cross Saint-Pourçain and take the direction Monmarault by the D46. 2 kms farther, take the D1 on the right, toward Le Montet. Cross the D11 going on towards Bourbon l'Archambault. Cross the Gros Bois forest. At the edge of the forest, take on the left, direction Saint-Aubin by the D 192. Cross the village of Saint-Aubin and take the direction of Ygrande by the D192. 2 kms farther, the castle can be seen on the right. Take the first small road on the right and follow the road signs to the castle. Coming from Clermont Ferrand (85 km) Going out of the motorway at Montmarault and take the direction of Moulins by the N145 11 kms farther, take an exit sliproad direction Le Montet. Cross le Montet and take the direction of Bourbon l'Archambault by the D1. Cross Saint-Hilaire, then Saint Hilaire station. Cross the D11 going on towards Bourbon l'Archambault. Cross the Gros Bois forest. On the edge of the forest, take on the left, toward Saint-Aubin by the D192.
Cross the village of Saint-Aubin and take the direction of Ygrande by the D192. 2 kms farther, the castle can be seen on the right. Take the first small road on the right and follow the road signs to the castle. Coming from Paris by the A6 and the A77 (299km) and Nevers (57km) Leaving Paris by the South motorway (A6), (Porte d'Orléans or Porte d'Italie – km 0). After leaving Nemours, take the direction of Nevers by the new motorway A77 (km 81). Around Briare, area of the Jardin des Arbres (km 124) : only filling station between Paris and Nevers. After Cosne sur Loire (km 188) temporary end of the motorway over 10 kms. The motorway bypasses Nevers (km 229). After the by-passing of Nevers (km 245), go on by the N7. Cross MagnyCours (circuit km 252). 500 meters after the fork towards Bourges (N76), leave on the right towards Saint-Pierre le Moutier, Decize, Le Veurdre. Cross Livry. In Le Veurdre, take the D978A on the right, Lurcy Lévis and Bourbon l'Archambault. Cross Limoise, go on towards Bourbon l'Archambault by the D1. Cross Franchesse. By leaving the village, take the direction of Ygrande on the right by the D135. Arriving in Ygrande, at the junction of the D135 with the large road D953, take on the left and go out of Ygrande. 2,5 km later, after the edge of the village, take the D18 on the right, direction Château d'Ygrande and follow road signs to the castle. Coming from Paris by the A71 (325 km) and Orléans. Take the motorway A10, towards Orléans, then A71, toward Clermont-Ferrand. Go out at Saint-Amand Montrond At the turnover, after the tollgate, take the direction Town Centre and Bourges. Cross the town keeping the direction of Montluçon. Go out of Saint-Amand by the N144, direction Montluçon. 14 km farther, take the D978A on the left, direction Cérilly. Cross Tronçais forest. At the « Rond gardien », take the D953 on the right direction Cérilly and Bourbon l'Archambault. At the red lights, in Cérilly, take straight away the direction of Ygrande by the D953. Cross Ygrande and take the direction of Bourbon l'Archambault by the D953. Cross Ygrande and take the direction of Bourbon l'Archambault and Château d'Ygrande. 2,5 km later, after the edge of the village, take the D18 on the right, direction Château d'Ygrande and follow road signs to the castle.
