NP Giving Back for the Annual “Scouting for Food” food drive sponsored by the NP Scout den’s Cubs #541, Wolves, Bears and Webelos 1. Boxes will be available for food drop off on Monday, Nov. 1st to Saturday, Nov. 13th you may drop off canned and non perishable foods at the gate houses. Thank you for helping this wonderful Community outreach effort to those in need during this holiday season. Children’s Holiday Event; Save the date, Saturday, December 11th for our Annual Holiday event. Lots of family fun. Join us at 10:30a.m.- 12:30p.m. at the clubhouse, 10 Meadow Valley, Irvine.

Please inform the Community Services office so a separate QuickPass account can be set up for the new tenant to allow them gate access and guest management capabilities. Enhancing Safety for pedestrian activity on Forest Glen; The NP board of directors at the October meeting voted unanimously to correct safety concerns voiced by some NP parents regarding the Hicks Canyon school crosswalk at Forest Glen. The board researched the issue and retained the services of a certified traffic engineer to survey the area conditions. Based upon those recommendations, the following improvements will be made: Removal of the existing stop bar and “STOP” pavement legend for eastbound traffic that is located approximately 25 feet in advance of the existing crosswalk. This will eliminate a potential second stop at the crosswalk. A new “STOP” pavement legend will be located at the proper locations with respect to the location of the existing crosswalk, thus making only one stop necessary for motorist and to maintain the integrity and safety for the pedestrian. Also a second area will be implemented at the unmarked crossing on Forest Glen at Paso Robles; with high pedestrian volume during school drop-off and pick-up periods. A marked crossing will encourage consolidation of uncontrolled pedestrian movements crossing Forest Glen at peak times. Both new areas will encourage pedestrian safety and ward off any potentially dangerous episodes. Thank you to our Northpark residents for their input in making Northpark a safe environment for all to enjoy! You will be notified when construction on Forest Glen will commence, for this area will need to be closed during construction. Every effort will be made not to cause any prolonged inconvenience to our NP residents and guests.


Did you know there is a Pooper Scooper Law in Irvine? Here’s the Scoop on Dog Poop!!! Northpark offers doggie bag stations throughout NP for our dog owner’s convenience and to protect the health and well being of other Northpark humans and canines. City of Irvine; Pooper Scooper Law (Excreata Nuisance) The Irvine City Ordinance requires that the owner or custodian of any dog must immediately remove the dog's excrement from public or private property other than the dog owner's property. Violation of this Ordinance could result in a fine of up to $100.00. This is a misdemeanor and police cannot issue a summons for this violation unless they actually view the offense; however, any citizen who sees this violation can request that an officer issue a summons for the offender. For more information about the Excreata Nuisance Ordinance, call Animal Services at (949) 724-7092. As to not cause embarrassment to Fido, please do pick up after your pet. It’s the neighborly thing to do! Here's how: 1. Pull the plastic bag over one hand like a glove. If you're cleaning up while walking your dog, loop the leash around your wrist and pull the bag over the leashed hand. 2. Pick up the poop with your bagged hand. 3. With your other hand, grasp the open end of the bag and pull the bag inside out. The poop will now be inside the bag. 4. Knot the bag and drop it into the nearest trash can. Of course, if there's no trash can nearby, you'll need to carry the bagged poop home until you find a suitable receptacle. But take heart. Soon, not even the thought of having to tote your dog's poop around town will gross you out. It'll just be a fact of life. Thank you for taking the time to read this; while it is not a refreshing topic it is one of concern and necessary to preserve the beauty of our Northpark community and the health and wellbeing of our families and friends. Vehicle Transponder Update: Getting ready to purchase a new vehicle? Please be reminded that transponder stickers are NOT transferable from one vehicle to another. Do NOT try to attach the old transponder to your new vehicle. This could cause damage to your new vehicle since the gate arm mechanism will not receive a clear signal. If you are purchasing a new vehicle and have a old transponder please remove from old vehicle and bring in with your new vehicle to the Community Services office to activate a new transponder. Replacement cost is $25.00 when you turn in the old, additional transponders are $35.00 each. Personal checks and Credit cards are the only form of payment received; please note a convenience fee of $4.00 is charged for credit card transactions. The BMP’s identify measures and practices first controlling runoff from the community into adjacent areas and storm drains that ultimately drain into the Pacific Ocean. Some of these practices include making sure homeowners’ landscape irrigation systems are adjusted properly to apply the proper volume of water to avoid excess runoff, not disposing of motor oil, paint products or detergents into the streets and ultimately the storm drains. Compliance by residents is important for several reasons. First, violation of these practices may subject the resident to penalties not only from the Association, but also from any public agency that has the right to monitor and enforce compliance. Second, violation of these practices may result in the imposition of more stringent maintenance requirements on the association, which could cause increases in monthly homeowner assessments.
