IMPROVE TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT OF ALL YOUR PORT CALLS, REDUCE DELAYS AND MITIGATE RISKS

THE WORLDS MOST ADVANCED PHYSICS-BASED VESSEL TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

IMPROVED SCHEDULING SUPPORTS SHORT AND LONG-TERM SCHEDULING OF ENTIRE FLEET Managing a large fleet efficiently requires careful long-term planning and flexible scheduling. NCOS ONLINE provides an integrated planning module that incorporates long term planning several years into the future with dynamic scheduling adjustment based on running 7-day forecasts. Long term planning schedules utilize the most advanced considerations of predicted water levels and hydrodynamics in combination with statistically occurring seasonal weather conditions, while the 7-day dynamic scheduling utilizes high resolution deterministic forecasts, which allows for final adjustments in case of unforeseen rough weather conditions. Combining long term and dynamic vessel scheduling into one system improves planning efficiency, unlocks hidden capacity and greatly reduces delays.

ACCURACY REDUCE DELAYS THROUGH ACCURATE DETERMINATION OF SAFE TRANSIT WINDOWS AT PORT CALLS NCOS ONLINE is a physics-based vessel traffic management system that incorporates the accuracy of high-end Full Mission Bridge Simulators with regards to ship response under power and at berth. Vessel response calculations utilize highly detailed global forecasts of winds, waves and hydrodynamics that are resolved at port scale, offering unsurpassed resolution of variations in coastal areas, through the shipping channel and at berth. Utilizing a physics based system for vessel response integration means that any capacity potential or constraint related to vessel operations are evaluated much more accurately.

OPTIMIZED FOR PASSENGER COMFORT Energetic wave and wind conditions can lead to significant vessel roll, pitch and heave motions, which can cause discomfort for onboard passengers and restrict access at piloting grounds. The traffic scheduling module in NCOS ONLINE implicitly evaluates vessel motions and accelerations for the forecast metocean conditions. Through this evaluation, our system optimizes transits to minimize the risk of excess motions leading to passenger discomfort and assures that timely pilot access is secured.

IMPROVED RISK MANAGEMENT AND TRAINING SIMULATOR INTEGRATION

INTEGRATION FLEXIBLE INTEGRATION WITH 3RD PARTY SYSTEMS Communication between stakeholders is critical to effective marine operations. In many cases, the tools stakeholders use to inform their actions are unique, limiting their ability to communicate efficiently. The NCOS ONLINE user has been developed in close collaboration with port and waterway operators and provides a suite of tailored dashboards that accommodates the needs of Pilots, Harbourmasters and VTS traffic controllers. In addition, the system offers seamless integration with 3rd party systems such as VTS systems, PPUs and Onboard System displays using a secure cloud-based web API.

Full Mission Bridge Simulator training is an important tool in assuring that vessel officers are trained to handle challenging situations at sea and in port. NCOS ONLINE provides a unique feature for swiftly exporting detailed environmental scenarios forecasted for the shipping channel and in port into a simulator. This allows for a rapid hands-on manoeuvrability assessment of any potentially challenging situation in advance.

NCOS has been a game-changer for the Port of Brisbane. By boosting the Port’s capacity to handle larger vessels without compromising safety, we have added value to our customers and maximised efficiency for all Port users”
