2 2016–2017 AN ODE TO JOY!

WELCOME TO OUR 79TH SEASON –

AN ODE TO JOY!

From Bach, Beethoven, and Berlioz to Broadway and Bugs Bunny, our 2016-17 season is overflowing with symphonic Masterworks, dazzling Pops, and internationally-acclaimed guest artists. Whether your love is Classical, Pops or both, we’ve programmed a season that will delight and inspire you from September to May! Each concert in our Masterworks season has something for everyone to enjoy – magnificent masterpieces, star performers, and a few surprises I think you’ll love. Our Pops series, now in its second year, brings back audience favorites and introduces Kristin Chenoweth’s sparkling soprano to Des Moines. The musicians and I can’t wait to bring this season’s music to life in our new acoustic shell. As always, the best way to make sure you don’t miss out on a moment of these great performances is to become a subscriber. Our members receive invitations to special Symphony events, first access to renew their favorite seats each year and, of course, subscribers receive the greatest available savings on tickets. To learn more about becoming a part of our Symphony family, visit page 23. I hope you’ll find this season as thrilling as I do. See you at the Symphony for An Ode to Joy!
