FULLY INTEGRATED Positioning the battery behind the seat tube is a tradition at Kalkhoff because it gives the bike a better centre of gravity, and thus offers a considerable advantage in terms of riding stability. What’s new, on the other hand, is the elegant look achieved by its perfect integration into the frame construction. This is achieved by our consistent implementation of the concept of component integration.

Our toughest critics are the people in our quality inspection department. We have one of the most modern test centres in Europe, and our engineers monitor this centrepiece of our production. They test practically everything – from the frame and fork to the crank. Quality controls are carried out throughout the production process. Once assembled, each bike undergoes a 100% functional check. Everything is done in Germany, by us – from concept and development through to production on site. For some that may be something exceptional. For us it is simply what we do.
