THE UNIVERSITY Established in 1924 as a teacher’s college, Delta State University is a regional public university committed to supporting the aspirations of its students. That commitment is reflected in our focus, not only in academics, but in athletics, the arts and service to the community.

SCHOLARSHIPS AND FINANCIAL AID FINANCIAL AID The Office of Financial Assistance works with students to meet their financial needs. The department can assist you with Federal and State financial aid programs, student loans, state scholarships and federal work study. The office is staffed with three, full-time, financial aid counselors, so your questions will not go unanswered. Remember, the school code for Delta State University is 002403. STUDENT EMPLOYMENT Delta State University offers part time employment opportunities for students through the Federal Work Study (FWS) program and through Regular Student Employment (RSE). In order to participate in the FWS program, students must first complete the FAFSA. Students may contact the Career Services office to determine what employment opportunities are available. CAREER SERVICES Career Services offers students a wide variety of career development assistance including resume writing, job/career fairs, mock interviews, career coaching, workshops, internship and job search assistance.
SCHOLARSHIPS Delta State University recognizes students through its scholarship and award program. A scholarship application is required, and the deadline for submission is April 1. Scholarships and awards are available for undergraduate study up to the completion of 124 earned hours; summer terms are excluded. Note that annual renewal conditions must be met to maintain all scholarships and awards. Transfer Academic Scholarships may be available to Mississippi resident transfer students with a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.00. The award amount, along with state aid, may cover 50%–75% of tuition and is dependent upon: number of hours, CGPA, and financial need. Phi Theta Kappa Scholarships are available to members with a minimum 3.00 CGPA. This scholarship, along with state aid, covers 100% of tuition. Out-of-state residents may be eligible for a scholarship to cover 100% of out-of-state fees. Transfer students must have a minimum 2.50 CGPA to be considered. In addition to the out-of-state scholarship, transfers with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 may be eligible for a Transfer Recognition Scholarship ranging from $500–$1,000 per year.

ADMISSION CHECKLIST MEET YOUR RECRUITER
We encourage you to meet with your recruiter prior to applying for admission to the University. Your recruiter will arrange a campus tour, assist you in meeting with an academic advisor, review your transcripts and help you through the application process.
APPLY FOR ADMISSION The application for admission begins the process. Visit admissions.deltastate.edu to apply online and pay your non-refundable application fee of $25.
TRANSCRIPTS Official transcripts from all colleges or universities you have attended must be sent to the Admission’s office.
IMMUNIZATION RECORDS Proof of immunization for measles, mumps, and rubella is required of all students, unless exempt because of (1) actual, suspected, pre-planned pregnancy, (2) medical contraindication or (3) birth prior to 1957.
TRANSFER ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS Any student who was not eligible for regular admission and who has not successfully completed the Summer Developmental Program must attend an accredited institution of higher education other than those under the governance of the Board of Trustees and must attain a “C” average (2.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale), as calculated by the admitting institution, in the following 30 transferable semester credit hours to be eligible to transfer to an IHL institution: 6 semester hours | English Composition 3 semester hours | College Algebra, Quantitative Reasoning or higher math 6 semester hours | Natural Science 6 semester hours | Social or Behavioral Sciences 9 semester hours | Humanities and Fine Arts *If the above listed courses have not been completed, submit official high school transcript and ACT
(school code 002190) or SAT (school code 1163) scores
TRANSFERABLE COURSES When students transfer to an IHL institution from a Mississippi community/junior college, IHL institutions will use the Articulation Agreement between the Mississippi Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning and the Mississippi State Board for Community and Junior Colleges to articulate the transfer of courses.
