Fantasy Football Rankings Kelvin Butler Reporter @KelvinButler19 UNIVERSITY CENTER — After the trade deadline has passed, we got who we got. Hopefully we all have some good consistent players and if not, I’m sorry for the L’s you're about to take. This season, just like the current state of the world, has hit the tip of the iceberg when it comes to feeling annoyed. Out of nowhere illnesses, injuries and games being pushed back or delayed. The tight end position is a waste and if you have an okay one, you hit the jackpot. Seeing how we’re closing in on the playoffs, team owners who are barely in or out the playoffs seedings are facing some tough decisions. Especially with players who we all had promising starts or had an injury filled season. Here’s a list of 10 players who we are all scared to drop. However, they might cost us the game if we remain loyal. Also, if you think there are players that should be on this list, that were not included, email the Delta Collegiate or hit us up on Instagram with your opinions!

Top Ten Drop Worthy Players 1. Carson Wentz (QB) Philadelphia Eagles 2. Micheal Thomas (WR) - New Orleans Saints 3. Ezekiel Elliott (RB) Dallas Cowboys 4. Melvin Gordon III (RB) - Denver Broncos 5. Darrell Henderson Jr.

(RB) - Los Angeles Rams 6. Leonard Fournette (RB) Tampa Bay Buccaneers 7. Ronald Jones III (RB) Tampa Bay Buccaneers 8. CeeDee Lamb (WR) - Dallas Cowboys 9. Jarvis Landry (WR) Cleveland Browns 10. DeVante Parker (WR) - Miami Dolphins

Rise in COVID-19 cases sends Michigan into lockdown Jordan Green Editor-in-Chief @Jordan_Green6 UNIVERSITY CENTER — As our snug mitten state embraces the winter, and the always accompanying cold and flu season, a recent rise in COVID-19 cases has put the state on a three week pause.

The order from Governor Gretchen Whitmer is to last from November 18th through December 9th. The new restrictions will shut down schools, indoor dining, movie theatres and casinos, and mandate work from home for those with flexible jobs. The shutdown also suspends youth sport activities for the three week period. While the shutdown puts a temporary pause on life, many businesses

and events are still open. Barber shops, kindergarten through 8th grade in-person instruction and professional and college sports with-out spectators are still in full-swing. The new lockdown under Governor Whitmer comes as a response to the record-breaking streak of 5,000 confirmed cases a day starting on November 10th, and a trend that has been continuing to rise. In the worst of the

pandemic in April, the most cases reported in a day was almost 2,000. As the cold and flu season begins to work its way around the state, be mindful of the other cold and flu-like symptoms that accompany COVID-19.

10 ways to say goodbye to sedentary Haeley Huggard Managing Editor @HaeleyHuggard

SAGINAW — The year 2020 in general has been one of the craziest years we have had so far. We have faced killer bees, COVID-19, self-quarantining, society having its own curfew, job losses, protests, our own president testing positive for COVID-19. The only nightmare that’s missing from this list would have been a visit from aliens. Couch surfing certainly looks like a prettier option when you compare it to all of the things going on in our world today. For many Delta students who are still having classes on campus, as of November 11, 2020, it was announced that classes will be reverting back to an online format until the first three weeks of the winter semester are over. Since many of us will be back home once more, it is important to remember to stay active. Sitting on the couch, watching movies is fine in small incriments. But when it becomes an all day event is when it begins to affect our health. Here are 10 helpful tips to help keep you active while we are back at home:

for us to sit down and stay that way for an entire day, but instead of sitting down while having a conversation (whether that’s on the phone, or in person) try standing up for the entirety of the conversation.

1. Five-minute breaks are a must - Since COVID will be keeping us home once more, try to remember to take a minimum of a five-minute break for every hour you sit. This can erase some of the long-term effects that sitting has on our bodies.

2.

3.

Park towards the back - I know we all want that front row parking space, but an easy way to get some extra steps in is by simply parking towards the back of the parking lot. You’ll get a lot more steps in and it won’t feel like a crazy workout. For tips that are similar to this one you can visit verywellhealth.com.

6.

Speak while standing - Though this one may sound a bit foolish, it's easy

Don’t forget to walk - Whether you decide to go out for a walk because it’s a nice day or simply walk for five minutes around the house, walking is important. According to Harvard.edu, walking for a minimum of five minutes every two hours is a great way to help you make sure you stimulate your muscles every day. Use those annoying advertisements to your advantage - We all dread having to sit through advertisements, it doesn’t matter if it’s YouTube or on T.V. they are very annoying. But one way to put those breaks in your show to good use is to use them as an excuse to move. When a commercial shows up, get off that couch and walk away.

Exercise videos don’t have to be only DVD’s - It’s true. Though

traditionally DVD’s are fun to use, there are many different workout videos available for free on YouTube. There is also a huge variety, so you won’t be left feeling tired of doing the same workout over and over. 4.

5.

7.

Make a daily workout difficult to ignore - Sure we can ignore it all we want or even forget but by taking small steps (no pun intended) such

as laying out only workout related clothes, putting sticky notes on your bathroom mirror, or setting a daily reminder on your phone, will help remind you to take action. Let’s face it it's harder to forget when you have constant reminders all around you. 8.

Set some ground rules - If you like to snack a lot, a good rule you set for yourself could be to go for a walk (or do some type of workout) and have a snack later. Who knows, by the end of that workout you may not even want that snack.

9.

It helps to set goals for yourself - For many of us, goals give us motivation. Setting a goal could give you that kick you need to get going. Set a goal for how much workout time you want to reach for working out. Maybe you want to work out up to two hours a day or maybe just a half an hour, either way goals are great!

10. Soup is the best medicineNot only is soup delicious but you can use soup cans (unopened) as weights and do arm curls. Not only can this be a good arm workout, when you're done you can make yourself a bowl of soup.

Put some spice in your Thanksgiving this year Kelvin Butler Reporter @KelvinButler19 UNIVERSITY CENTER - Hello to all my fellow comrades, can you get a whiff of that patriotic autumn air? Thanksgiving is coming near, and it's time to cheer! But, we’re not cheering for your bland Thanksgiving feast unless you take the time to revamp it. We can only tolerate the same Turkey and mashed potatoes year in and year out. Let’s face it, our 2020 Thanksgiving feast needs to be out of this world. Lucky for you, here are some fresh ideas that will keep your family members from dissing on your dish behind your back, at least the food part, that is... Let's get sweet with dessert, since it’s the only

thing everyone is looking forward to. How about we go from the same ole’ pumpkin pie, to a very diverse Pan Sheet Pie. You could fit two, four, or however many different dessert sections onto a pan sheet, by separating each section with graham crackers. For example, you can divide the pan sheet into four sections and put two different pies and include brownie flavors; then BOOM you have four different desserts. Next, let’s address the sides. A healthier switch on the boring, bland, box stuffing is a homemade sausage and herb stuffing. By adding quality sausage meat, your family will be fighting over it and it will be all the rave. Another side dish you can glady attempt, if you’re looking to make a bold statement, is fried ravioli. This is a great dish to make if you prefer spending a

longer time in the kitchen, or you want to do something untraditional. You can even get the cute little kiddies involved by making these. These can be made out of anything your passionate, cooking-hearts can handle. Instead of following the traditional marinara sauce and cheese, you can make your own Thanksgiving raviolis with turkey and gravy, stuffing and cranberries, or sweet potato and marshmallows. If you know how to do it you can even use pastry dough, biscuit dough, or cookie dough for the pasta part of the ravioli. For all the parents who have kids who wake up early yelling and bugging you about when the food will be done, a simple fix can be a Pumpkin-Spice-FrenchToast casserole. It can be prepared at night and baked the next morning to hold off those starving munchkins. This dish sounds very

scrumptious if you’re looking for an appropriate Thanksgiving breakfast. Finally, here comes the main event ladies and gentlemen. The iconic Turkey, now, I’m not going to say abandon it, I’m not that savage yet. But, how about you put a maple and bourbon glaze on it? You know, change things a little bit. You know we all like sweet things and

a little alcohol here and there just to calm our nerves. But using this will help make the Turkey taste different enough to respark our taste buds that have become used to the generic Turkey taste. So, just like that there goes three little recommendations for new Thanksgiving day meals you and your family will enjoy and be surprised with.

Let's hope the Lions won’t Gobble Gobble (CHOKE) Kelvin Butler Reporter @KelvinButler19 UNIVERSITY CENTER — During the pandemic a lot of what we call normal is at a halt right now. But, fortunately the Detroit Lions will never leave us hanging. As tradition, the Lions will play against the defunct Houston Texans; where out of sheer desperation I have the Lions winning 41-34 in a shootout. The Lions have shown the defensive ability to lock teams down. But they have a tendency to always let teams get back into the game. Their problem is that they can’t manage to play at a high level for all four quarters, that’s why they're in the position they’re in now. Offensively if everyone is healthy, the Lions have more

talent than the Texans; therefore they can easily put up points on the poor run and mediocre pass Defense. With quarterback Matthew Stafford, gunslinger mentality, and an okay offensive line; outside of the Texans defensive end J.J Watt they should have no worries protecting Stafford or opening up running lanes for the running backs. The only way the Texans would be competitive is if they put the ball in the hands of their playmakers. Quarterback Deshaun Watson has to play a great game from start to finish to have a shot at winning. This means his weapons Will Fuller V, Brandon Cooks, and David Johnson (if Healthy) have to step up and do their jobs. The Texans defense is playing poorly, they don’t have the defensive talent like the Lions. All they can hope for is to either just ball out and have their best

game of the season or hope that the Lions have a terrible game in which everything that happens ends in favor of the Texans. Hopefully this game is a shootout like I predict. After all

there’s nothing worse than watching a boring game while starving. For some reason people prefer to have the food done around 6pm. So let’s wish for a competitive game to take our mind off of our hunger pains.
