Henry Banks and Banks Farm Market is an institution in Delaware County. Banks not only draws business from long-time customers who come regularly but he also sees new customers from points both in and outside the county. Banks notes he has even drawn raves from visitors from South Carolina and Georgia, areas well-known for barbecues. “They have nothing on you,” he has been told. Selling his well-known barbecues for 24 years now, Banks attributes his success to consistency. He began operating out of a small tent before he retired working for the county and PPG, progressed to a small shed, then came inside once he began expanding his menu. “My ribs are no different than they’ve been when I started,” he said,

He especially enjoys working with both his kids and grandkids. “I just believe in treating people right,” Banks said. “You have a relationship with your customers.” In addition to the ribs, Banks pulled pork is another local favorite. The market also offers a variety of other meats as well as produce, homemade pies and sides such as macaroni and cheese and cheesy potatoes. He also prepares food for events. Bank’s is located at 304 London Road, Delaware. Hours are 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and noon to 3 p.m. on Sundays.
