INTRODUCTION This is a very flexible and varied trip that touches the highlights of Amalfi Coast and Calabria Regions. Every day we have more cycling possibilities : short and easier route and a longer or more demanding route for the keener cyclists, walking and culinary excursions. The trip start in Rome or Naples airport when the company pick up and transfer the tourists to the farm in Amalfi Coast, It was an extremely important maritime republic and it holds some of the world’s most famous monuments and an amazing landscape. During the stay in this area the trip include one day to the famous Positano village and the famous island of Capri. The travel continue with transfer service (2,5 hours by minibus) to the Calabria Region where will explore ancient villages of Calabria Region, forests and olive oil valleys. Normally the journey is enriched by the presence of Mr. Jerry that with his knowledge of people and territories will help you to have an unforgettable experience. Breakfasts, lunchs and dinners are made only with local typical and natural products.

1th DAY LANDING IN ROME or NAPLES. Transfer from the airport or railway station of Naples by minivan to Amalfi Coast. Accomodation in B&B Farmhouse at AGEROLA where we will have a drinking welcome cocktail, small workshop with illustration of all trip details and lunch with typical local products. In the afternoon we will have 2 solutions : - If you land in the morning we will have a cycling excursion in Agerola to the panoramic terraces and to the “painted” land of ‘Furore’ and his monument dedicated to Fausto Coppi or in alternative transfer and walking excursion in Positano, retourn at the B&B Farmhouse for the dinner and sleep. - If you land in the afternoon we will have only a walking tour to the panoramic terraces of Agerola, retourn at the B&B Farmhouse for the dinner and sleep.

2nd DAY : CYCLING EXCURSION OF AMALFI COAST. After the breakfast transfer by minivan to the center of Amalfi where we will pick up bicycles and start our exploration of the coast, from AMALFI to MINORI, MAIORI and CETARA. The excursion start from the port of Amalfi to Cetara direction. The distance from Amalfi to Cetara is of 15km along the hills. About the time of riding we recommend a slow ride for enjoy the beauty of landscape. The tour can be arranged with short and easier route or a longer or more demanding route for the keener cyclists. At the end of excursion in Cetara we will eat in local restaurants where will taste the ‘colatura di alici’. (dripped anchovies) At the end of the lunch can go to the beach for swim and / or sunbathe. At the end of day we will retourn to the B&B Farmhouse with the minivan where will have a dinner and sleep.

3rd DAY TO THE FAMOUS ISLAND OF CAPRI In the first hour of morning transfer by minivan to the port of Amalfi when we will take a boat to Capri Island (50' navigation – departure 9.15), where we will have the tour of island and will explore by boat the famous places of this island. Lunch in Capri at local restaurant or pizzeria. Around 5pm we will retourn on Amalfi by boat and transfer by minivan to the B&B Farmhouse for the dinner and sleep.

4th DAY TO THE FAMOUS ANCIENT VILLAGES OF CALABRIA REGION Transfer by minivan to Longobardi, a small town located along the coast of Calabria Region where will have hotel accommodation. From this day we will explore the calabrian area famous for his ancient villages in the pristine nature. This will be a free day with the possibility to make a slowly walking excursion on seafront and on the beach, near 0,5 miles from your room. Lunch, dinner and sleep at the hotel.

5th DAY – Bike Excursion : Olive grove’s valley and courses for learn to make cheese After the breakfast transfer with minivan bus to Aiello Calabro, a small ancient village immersed in olive grove’s valley, where will have a walking tour in the center. In the past the Vatican have ordered 2 Popes and 8 bishops from this ancient village. This town is famous for the production of original ‘Pan Speziale’ (spicy bread). After the walking tour will ride by bicycle in downhill roads along forests and inside the pristine nature to the Sant’Anna Farmhouse where we will meet Ms. Maria (biologist by profession and a pastor for the passion). Maria will teach us how make the cheese with a quick lesson on the theory and practice. At the end of this lesson we will set at the table for eat fresh and seasoned cheeses, home cooked and typical products and good Italian wine. At the end of the day we will retour at the hotel for dinner and sleep.

6th DAY – Cycling and Walking Excursion : Ancient villages and courses for learn to make bread with ancient recipes After the breakfast transfer by minivan to Fiumefreddo Bruzio, a medieval village near to sea where we will admire nobiliary buildings, churchs, the Castle of Valley and the works of art donated to the town by the artist Salvatore Fiume. At the end of this walking tour we will ride by bicycle along the original Bourbon road to a small rural farmhouse. This road, with a very low traffic, in the past connected the town of Reggio Calabria to Salerno. At the rural farmhouse we will assist to the ancient rite of the homemade bread and we will taste this, when it is still hot, with other typical homemade cheeses and various kinds of homemade cold meats and salami. Transfer by minivan to the hotel. Free afternoon, dinner and sleep at the hotel.

Regional products 7th DAY – Cycling and Walking excursions to AMANTEA After the breakfast will start a cycling tour from the hotel to the historical center of Amantea where we can visit the open market (opened from Tuesday to Sunday). This market was wanted by ‘Durazzo D’Angiò III°’ in the 1432 with this words :’must be perennial, in every sunday and without duties’ . The market of Amantea town have his highest expression on Sunday, but from April to October , except Monday, is open daily. All sellers are producers of the goods : fruits, vegetables of seasons, honey, tomato sauce, homemade preserves, cheeses and fresh ricotta. After the market we will ride by bike to the San Bernardino’s monastery where we will look art works by Cagini and Bernini. After this visit we will ride to ‘Largo Chianura’ where we will meet a folk man, Mr. Fortunato Pagliaro, a naïf artist, nicknamed ‘The Ligabue of Amantea’, along the way we will look and stop at ateliers of local artists. The lunch will be arranged at Le Clarisse a charming and awarded restaurant in the historical center of the town where we will enjoy a refined and creative cuisine. The building of this restaurant was former nunnery, built in 1602, now completely restored. Inside this restaurant is visible to the public a unique art gallery – more than 100 works, all of false-author. In the restaurant you can admire a pillar of Arab, the only evidence found of the ninth century when Amantea with Tropea and Santa Severina was an Arab emirate. We will have lunch at ancient convent converted today in a lovely restaurant, where from the terrace you can see Saracen tower and landscape.
After the lunch we will stop at historical ice cream shop and will ride back to the modern town where you can make shopping (Italian products : shoes, bags, ecc) . At the end of the shopping activities will ride back to the hotel where will have the dinner. Before our transfer to the hotel we will stop at the atelier of Colavolpe, a famous historical producer (since 1910) of dried figs. In the afternoon we will come back to the hotel where we will have last dinner and sleep.
