Online Databases Tutorials

Page 1

Access full text journal article databases for free. How? 1) As a QPL account holder of State Library of Queensland. The first section of this tutorial shows you how to register and begin using the State Library Online Databases through the Cairns Library website. 2) Via our institutional membership of JCU The second section of this tutorial shows you where to go at JCU library to search for journal articles and save them onto USB. Sound files of many items can be saved too. NB Why are these options important for teachers and senior students? The Resource Centre no longer subscribes to ProQuest databases. The monies have been put towards an upgrade of our Library Management System to VLibrary. V-Library is coming at the end of May. V-Library will be a file manager for the entire network, a source of 24hr Educational TV, a tool for parcelling ELearning, and a confederated catalogue of any compatible online databases we obtain permission to access.
