Cuando

fui universitaria leí el libro obligado Teoría del Arquitectura de José Villagrán. Uno de los capítulos que más llamó mi atención fue el del Carácter en la Arquitectura. Hablaba de cómo el lenguaje de la arquitectura debe ser tan claro como preciso para que al ser leída el mensaje sea el correcto. Así, el ver y el saber, que es una casa, o una escuela o una iglesia y no, al contrario, aquello visto resulte ser un hospital y no una escuela. Lo recordé porque cuando vi la imagen poderosa de lo que abajo develaré, poco a poco, hube de preguntarme una y otra vez: “qué sería o, para qué sería”. Al final pude concluir que su enigma es justo provocadoramente intenso, al mismo tiempo que te invita a saberlo. Hay un efecto de introyección o de inducción en su propuesta. Me refiero a una fotografía digital que me mostraba un monumental prisma rectangular blanco diseccionado con una disruptiva perforación, provocada por cinco (a la vista) prismas interpuestos en forma de pequeñas casas con cubierta triangular; todas dispuestas una sobre otra como si se quisieran abrir el paso entre ellas para ganar cada una visibilidad notoria. Entre tanto, al mismo tiempo, se da a luz un cuerpo latente pero invisible que, como el agua toma la forma horadada para dar cuenta de la enorme fuerza del vacío naciente. Entonces, cuando miras ese poderoso vacío detectas que debajo de esas casas existe una fuerza tan fantástica que las eleva, como si se tratase de una levitación deliberada (que lo es). Me estoy refiriendo a una obra arquitectónica que se desplanta atrayente a tu paso cotidiano entre las calles de la alta sociedad.

Tal pieza de arquitectura emula una caja blanca perforada, ésta presume cuatro números de metal sobrepuestos en su esquina superior derecha. Se trata del 0914 en la calle Gangnam-gum de la ciudad de Seúl en Corea del Sur. Este número representa prácticamente el nombre de este particular edificio de arquitectura contemporánea concebida por el despacho de arquitectos TRU Architects + Eho. Cuya propuesta formal invita al diálogo a profusos conceptos que dejan ver a todas luces su intención dialógica, no únicamente entre los elementos que dan forma al objeto construido en sí; también está su enigmática manera de llamar la atención ineluctablemente a quienes, por alguna razón nos topamos con esta caja blanca. El vacío de la etérea forma hundida no se subyuga al primer plano blanco que se sabe perforado, pero tampoco se subyugan las extrusiones prismáticas de ladrillo. Su pujante equilibrio dialogiza silenciosamente. Mientras, el místico interior es evidencia del misterio complejo que guarece este espacio. No sabes tan fácil qué oculta a pie de banqueta, así que entrar es inevitable; hasta entonces es develada la interconexión entre una supra atmósfera (pisos superiores) y una infra atmósfera (pisos inferiores) atrapantes en cuya cosmogonía descubres un mundo distinto de experimentar y disfrutar el encuentro humano en un original interespacio lleno de contrastes. Los mismos que abren paso al disfrute de restaurantes, galerías de arte, cafés, talleres de artistas y diseñadores. Creo que la idea sigilosa es atraparte entre el vacío, la forma, el tiempo y los límites numéricos que impone la Plaza 0914 flagship Store.

WhenI went to university I read the mandatory book Theory of Architecture by José Villagrán. One of the chapters that most caught my attention was Character in Architecture. He talked about how the language of architecture must be as clear as it is precise so that the message is correct when it is read. Thus, seeing and knowing that it is a house, or a school, or a church and not, on the contrary, what is seen turns out to be a hospital and not a school. I remembered it because when I saw the powerful image of what it revealed below, little by little, I had to ask myself over and over again: “what would it be or, what would it be for”. In the end I was able to conclude that his enigma is just provocatively intense, at the same time that he invites you to know it. There is an effect of introjection or induction in his proposal. I am referring to a digital photograph that showed me a monumental white rectangular prism dissected with a disruptive perforation, caused by five (visible) interposed prisms in the shape of small houses with triangular roofs; all arranged one on top of the other as if they wanted to open the way between them to each gain notorious visibility. Meanwhile, at the same time, a latent but invisible body is given birth that, like water, takes the perforated shape to account for the enormous force of the rising void. So, when you look at that powerful vacuum, you detect that under those houses there is such a fantastic force that they lift them, as if it was a deliberate levitation (which it is). Such a piece of architecture emulates a perforated white box, it boasts four superimposed metal numbers in its upper right corner. It is about 0914 on Gangnam-gum street in the city of Seoul in South Korea. This number practically represents the name of this particular building of contemporary architecture conceived by the firm of architects TRU Architects + Eho. Whose formal proposal invites dialogue to profuse concepts that clearly reveal its dialogical intention, not only between the elements that shape the built object itself; there is also his enigmatic way of inevitably drawing the attention of those of us who, for some reason, come across this white box. The emptiness of the ethereal sunken form does not subdue the white foreground that is known to be perforated, but neither do the prismatic extrusions of brick. Its powerful balance dialogues silently. Meanwhile, the mystical interior is evidence of the complex mystery that shelters this space. You don’t know so easily what a banquet foot hides, so entering is inevitable; Until then, the interconnection between a captivating supra atmosphere (upper floors) and an infra atmosphere (lower floors) is revealed in whose cosmogony you discover a different world of experiencing and enjoying the human encounter in an original interspace full of contrasts. A Magical Forest in the Urban Jungle

As the first high-end project of the “City Series” that are planned for Changsha, the City Gather Park is situated in the Xiangjiang New District, a strategic planning area of the Belt and Road master plan. Anchored by the burgeoning development in the areas surrounding the city’s center, the project is located in close proximity to various high-profile amenities such as the Tianxin District Commercial Center and the Yuelu Cultural Center. It is accessible via main arteries Tanzhou Avenue and South Xiaoxiang Road, and lies adjacent to the 7,200-acre Yanghu National Wetland Park, creating an opportunity for a new kind of project encompassing green, ecological, and progressive values. Focusing on the integration of natural ecology and urban life, Dean Design takes the concept of human experience enriched by art, and applies it to the design of all landscape elements in the project by taking the theme of an Urban Forest and applying it to planting arrangements, pathways, outdoor furniture, and sculptures. Drawing on the archetypal imagery of deer in the forest, the languages of contemporary art and landscaping complement one another to create a synthesis of culture and nature for visitors to the park. This unique combination of forest community and activities park creates a memorable urban experience, both tactile and poetic, in a setting close to nature.

Plants and trees, light and shadow, sculpted deer and winding paths are interwoven into a series of vivid scenic tableaux. By designing the plantings to correspond with the pathway’s views as it winds through the park, the designers have re-created the experience of visiting a natural wooded environment. The deer sculptures, as the focal point of the scene, bring a sense of vitality and light-heartedness to those walking through the area.

Along the winding paths, visitors come across lively installations composed of circular forms within the landscape. The designer has explored the structure, rhythm and artistic aspects of geometry to create a strong contrast with the surrounding natural elements. Every time visitors walk here, they will have the opportunity to discover and enjoy new subtleties in this unique environment.

By incorporating the principles and sensibilities of contemporary art into the park’s abundant natural features, a new kind of design language has been created which addresses not only contextual beauty, but the coexistence of art and nature – and how their relationship may be continuously explored beyond a traditional understanding of what constitutes a landscape.

The playground integrates parent-child interaction, play activities, and opportunities for visitors to socialize, with unique playground elements such as the “deer house” slide, and the colorful ground surface, seesaws, and fitness equipment all providing a tactile connection to the park for the local community. In this way, the park’s concepts of “deer the lake” and “children playing in a forest” are brought life, supporting visiting children’s well-being and sense of wonder.

With city life comes dwelling in concrete buildings and a detachment from nature. In the Changsha City Gather project, the designers aim to allow urbanites to rediscover and explore nature within the city, by promoting an innovative ecological system combined with a poetic, aesthetically refined environment. Dean Design has created a mythic forest within an urban park where art and nature are gracefully intertwined. In addressing the complexity of a city setting, has not only created a natural landscape compatible with urban life, but also a vibrant gathering place for public activities – providing a place of friendly interaction between city workers, the local community, and visitors, opening the way towards new possibilities, ideas, and lifestyles.

Los propietarios de 1000 Ocean audicionaron a varios diseñadores antes de que se eligiera a Perla Lichi para renovar su lujoso condominio junto al mar. The homeowners of 1000 Ocean auditioned several designers before Perla Lichi was chosen to renovate their luxurious oceanside condominium. The extensive remodeling had Lichi select an all-new color pallet and textures for the bathrooms and bedrooms. Thoughtful consideration was put into bringing the coastal ambiance into the unit; the refreshing greens from the palm trees and crisp blues of the Atlantic ocean became recurring motifs throughout.

The serene waterfront became the motif of this home and Perla Lichi’s innovative design concepts were implemented seamlessly. The entire suite feels cohesive as the foamy ocean blues are accented via strategically placed accessories and glass mosaic inserts.

Various shades of blue hues speckle the master bath like the spray of an ocean. The main feature is a 15-foot wall made from Sici’s glass tiles. This breathtaking wall creates a palpable atmosphere in the room and the way it catches and bounces light off its many faces emulates the shimmering sparkle of the ocean on a bright day. This wall could have been any piece of art, but Perla Lichi chose an ambitious installation that not only makes the room feel fresh but also shares the same core design philosophy in other rooms.

Perla Lichi’s sensibilities when renovating the unit for 1000 Ocean are meticulous. The home’s new contemporary coastal aesthetics reinforce the homeowner’s appreciation of the “on the water” lifestyle. Masterful color coordination, space planning, and the elite echelon of craftsmanship are on full display in this unit; making every square foot look and feel high-end. The nonpareil artistry from Perla Lichi’s discerning eye elevates what could have been a routine remodeling, into a full-blown reinvention.

Transitioning to the master closet, you are met with a stately island dressing table. This unit not only solves daily storage quandaries but also makes a powerful impression with its cool gray, slab marble top. Sandy earth tones take precedence over the cool hues from the master bath and the effect makes the environment feel warmer and sophisticated. The looming abstract aqua chandelier highlights the island centerpiece of the master closet and reinforces the exclusive oceanfront ambiance.

In 2008, Horn embarked on an expedition aboard the Pangaea sailing yacht, a custom-built vessel designed specifically for scientific research and exploration.

Pero no todos saben que la mixología es un arte que ha evolucionado solo en las últimas décadas y que ahora está de moda en todos los clubes de moda.

Pero, ¿qué es la mixología?

Mixología deriva del inglés “mixology” (realmente no es traducible al español), y se refiere a ese arte u oficio de mezclar licores y otras bebidas complementarias para crear una experiencia única en un cóctel: el mixólogo es un artista de la bebida, que sabe reproducir a la perfección cualquier tipo de cóctel y muchas veces crea el suyo propio.

El arte de crear bebidas ciertamente tiene raíces muy antiguas: desde la antigüedad a los hombres les encantaba inventar bebidas de todo tipo, desde el vino mezclado con especias y aromas, hasta las primeras versiones de la cerveza. Durante la época de los antiguos romanos, por ejemplo, el vino producido era realmente muy fuerte y concentrado, y por lo tanto había que diluirlo: así nacieron muchas variaciones del “néctar de los dioses”, con ingredientes como miel, clavo, azafrán, frutas, y muchos otros.

Sin embargo, la mixología tal y como la entendemos hoy en día nace tras la revolución industrial, con el nacimiento de los licores y destilados creados con gran destreza. Desde el siglo XIX empiezan a nacer los auténticos cócteles: el primer concepto de “cóctel” nació en Gran Bretaña, y era similar a un ponche, con zumos de frutas y especias.

El término actual se define en 1806 en Nueva York, cuando el periódico “The Balance and Columbian Repository” afirma que el cóctel es “un licor con una composición estimulante de cualquier tipo de azúcar, agua y amargos, comúnmente llamado honda amarga”.

En 1862 fue Jerry Thomas (llamado “Profesor” Thomas), un hábil cantinero estadounidense nacido en Connecticut, quien finalmente escribió el primer libro de recetas de cócteles, “The Bartender’s Guide”, una útil enciclopedia de bebidas mezcladas.

Con la llegada del hielo producido industrialmente, la coctelería también evolucionó, hasta la llegada de la Prohibición en América, que frenó el consumo de alcohol pero no frenó por completo su avance. Después de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, los cócteles nacidos en América sufren la fascinación de países extranjeros, evolucionando aún más; en el siglo XX, sin embargo, nacieron algunos de los cócteles aún más famosos como el Manhattan o el Martini.

El estilo Mixology se introdujo más recientemente, especialmente entre el Europeo. En comparación con el Flair, tiene un atractivo decididamente más serio y elegante, proponiendo un verdadero retorno a los orígenes, gracias a la recuperación de métodos de vertido de una historia menos reciente pero no poco fascinante, al contrario.

Hoy en día, la mixología está muy extendida en todo el mundo, trayendo un factor típico desde el punto de vista histórico de la globalización, para bebidas hechas a escala planetaria pero declinadas cada vez con un estado de ánimo local diferente.

Aún hoy, el arte de la coctelería es cada vez más famoso y evolucionado, tanto que el barman clásico puede evolucionar hasta convertirse en el coctelero más refinado: un artista de las bebidas alcohólicas capaz de recrear clásicos y reinventar cocteles cada vez más particulares. Otra adición a esta profesión es la coctelería flair, un complejo de técnicas acrobáticas utilizadas para preparar bebidas; estas técnicas, bastante complicadas y a menudo difíciles de dominar, incluyen tirar botellas, servir varias bebidas al mismo tiempo y mucho más. Sin embargo, la coctelería flair nunca debe perder de vista la calidad y bondad del cóctel que prepara para favorecer el espectáculo acrobático.

Las técnicas de la coctelería incluyen básicamente las clásicas del combinado y se sabe: el hombre está acostumbrado a mezclar y experimentar desde el principio de los tiempos, utilizando lo que tiene disponible en ese preciso momento. Los métodos que subyacen a este estilo se llevaron adelante dentro del mundo árabe, para luego ser perfeccionados durante el Renacimiento y actualizados durante la Revolución Industrial.

Aunque más reciente, la mixología flair también es muy popular, y esta técnica también debe su nacimiento al gran bartender Jerry Thomas.

But what is mixology?

Mixology derives from the English “mixology” (it is not really translatable into Spanish), and refers to that art or craft of mixing liquors and other complementary drinks to create a unique experience in a cocktail: the mixologist is an artist of the drink, who knows how to perfectly reproduce any type of cocktail and often creates his own.

The art of creating drinks certainly has very ancient roots: from ancient times men loved to invent drinks of all kinds, from wine mixed with spices and aromas, to the first versions of beer. The current term is defined in 1806 in New York, when the newspaper “The Balance and Columbian Repository” states that the cocktail is “a liquor with a stimulating composition of any kind of sugar, water and bitters, commonly called bitter slingshot”.

In 1862 it was Jerry Thomas (called “Professor” Thomas), a skilled Connecticut-born American bartender, who finally wrote the first cocktail recipe book, “The Bartender’s Guide,” a useful encyclopedia of mixed drinks.

With the advent of industrially produced ice, bartending also evolved, until the arrival of Prohibition in America, which curbed alcohol consumption but did not completely stop its advance.

Another addition to this profession is flair cocktails, a complex of acrobatic techniques used to prepare drinks; these techniques, quite complicated and often difficult to master, include throwing bottles, serving several drinks at the same time, and much more. However, flair cocktails should never lose sight of the quality and goodness of the cocktail it prepares to favor the acrobatic show.

Although more recent, flair mixology is also very popular, and this technique also owes its birth to the great bartender Jerry Thomas.

Manifiesto entregado en el Tianguis Turístico de México destaca la importancia del turismo comunitario y de naturaleza en Maya Ka’an.

Enel manifiesto, las comunidades mayas muestran su visión de un turismo vivo y basado en la naturaleza, que permite el desarrollo sustentable de las comunidades, en profundo respeto a su cultura y naturaleza. Se destaca la importancia del turismo comunitario basado en la naturaleza en Maya Ka’an como una oportunidad para demostrar que el desarrollo rural puede ser sustentable, justo y equitativo.

El manifiesto fue entregado en manos del Secretario de Turismo Miguel Torruco y atestiguado por la gobernadora Mara Lezama y la presidente municipal de Carrillo Puerto Mary Hernández, en el marco de la inauguración del Pabellón Caribe Mexicano.

Las comunidades mayas del Destino Maya Ka’an, la zona maya de Quintana Roo, presentaron hoy un manifiesto en el marco del Tianguis Turístico de México, entregándolo a las manos del Secretario de Turismo Miguel Torruco Marques. El manifiesto, que fue elaborado por las empresas de turismo comunitario, destaca la importancia del turismo comunitario basado en la naturaleza en Maya Ka’an como una oportunidad para demostrar que el desarrollo rural puede ser sustentable, justo y equitativo.

El modelo turístico desarrollado en la región ha sido construido con la participación activa de las comunidades, y se enfoca en la conservación de la biodiversidad, la preservación de la cultura y la generación de empleos y oportunidades de desarrollo para las familias. Este modelo tiene su raíz en la bioculturalidad, concepto que representa la relación profunda y complementaria entre la naturaleza y la cultura.

Este manifiesto es una muestra del compromiso de las comunidades mayas de Maya Ka’an y las empresas de turismo comunitario para el desarrollo sustentable de la región, y la implementación de un turismo comunitario que contribuya al nuevo acuerdo propuesto por la gobernadora de Quintana Roo Mara Lezama, de un turismo que respete la cultura y la naturaleza de la región con prosperidad y justicia social.

Las comunidades mayas y las empresas de turismo comunitario que suscriben el manifiesto hacen una petición respetuosa a las autoridades de turismo y medio ambiente de los 3 órdenes de gobierno y demás tomadores de decisiones que promueven el desarrollo del turismo en el estado de Quintana Roo. Entre las peticiones se encuentran el fortalecimiento del modelo turístico Maya Ka’an, el reconocimiento de las comunidades y sus derechos, la facilitación del diálogo entre los intereses de la conservación del Patrimonio Natural y Cultural y los intereses de la industria del Turismo, la comunicación sobre la importancia del turismo comunitario sustentable y la promoción y gestión del turismo comunitario sustentable en sus diversas modalidades.

Las comunidades mayas también hacen un llamado a las autoridades para adoptar los “Lineamientos de Turismo Comunitario Sustentable”, y a formular políticas y programas concretos que promuevan el desarrollo del turismo comunitario sustentable basado en la naturaleza que contengan objetivos medibles y estrategias para la puesta en práctica de criterios de biodiversidad y salvaguardas sociales y ambientales.

Un encuentro con las mitológicas sirenas

Roo es un estado en donde lo imposible puede suceder, como fue el caso de mi snorkeleada con una familia de manatíes.

Todo inicio cuando mi hijo me platico que había ido a filmar varios cenotes para realizar un programa de televisión, y en un cenote de difícil acceso pudieron observar en sus ambiente a varios de estos seres marinos . Le pedí los contactos para yo ir a testificar tan bonito acontecimiento, así fue como me comunique con un joven que admiro por su compromiso con el medio ambiente muy bueno en el buceo en las cuevas, Luis Leal quien gustoso nos dio los datos y hasta prometió acompañarnos.

Acordamos vernos en la carretera que te lleva a Chetumal el domingo muy temprano . Con tiempo de sobra arregle mi equipo de snorkel asi como el de fotografía submarina

Llegamos puntuales a la cita, en esta ocasión le había pedido a mi esposa Cristina y a mi primo Alejandro ( que fue una de las personas que me introdujo al mundo del buceo ) que me acompañaran.

Al llegar al sitio nos encontramos con un cenote abierto, rodeado de manglar y agua muy clara. Sin perdida de tiempo nos calzamos nuestros visores y aletas y nos metimos al agua, que era muy clara y con algunos pequeños peces. Nadamos quizá 30 minutos tratando de hacer el menor ruido posible y teniendo la vista en todos lados

De pronto a lo lejos una mancha oscura se distingue entre el manglar, era la figura inconfundible de un manatí, el cuan se oculto rápidamente. Luis nos indica que nos quedemos cerca y sin movernos. No tuvimos que esperar mucho para que por arte de magia fueran apareciendo hasta 5 de estos bellos y tranquilos mamíferos marinos

Era para mi como estar en un sueño, pues cada día que pasa es mas difícil observar estos seres.

Hoy en día es una especie en peligro por la invasión a su entorno por el hombre Espero con ansias que algún día podamos vivir en paz con este y otros seres que por no poder comunicarse como mostros, si sienten el mismo dolor cuando mueren asfixiados atrapados en las redes o son victimas de un arpón.

Era tan bello el lugar que al terminar el recorrido me acorde de una frase de Víctor Hugo que dice ; Es increíble que la naturaleza hable y el ser humano no escuche.

Antiguamente se les podía ver en casi todo el sureste de México, su habitad es muy extenso. Suelen vivir en lagunas, ríos y esteros y ocasionalmente en el mar cuando están emigrando . A pesar de su gran tamaño y pesos son muy tímidos y totalmente inofensivos. Se alimentan de algas.

Cuenta la leyenda que cuando los españoles llegaron a América y vieron a estas criaturas amamantando a sus crías con tanta ternura, las confundieron con las místicas figuras mitológicas de las sirenas de ahí el titulo de este articulo

We arrived on time for the appointment, this time I had asked my wife Cristina and my cousin Alejandro (who was one of the people who introduced me to the world of diving) to accompany me.

Upon reaching the site we find an open cenote, surrounded by mangrove swamps and very clear water. Without wasting time we put on our visors and fins and got into the water, which was very clear and with some small fish. We swam maybe 30 minutes trying to make as little noise as possible and having the view everywhere Suddenly, in the distance, a dark spot is distinguished among the mangroves, it was the unmistakable figure of a manatee, which quickly hid. Luis tells us to stay close and not move. We did not have to wait long for up to 5 of these beautiful and calm marine mammals to magically appear.

It was for me like being in a dream, because with each passing day it is more difficult to observe these beings.

Formerly they could be seen in almost the entire southeast of Mexico, their habitat is very extensive. They usually live in lagoons, rivers and estuaries and occasionally in the sea when they are migrating. Despite their large size and weight, they are very shy and totally harmless. They feed on algae.

Legend has it that when the Spanish arrived in America and saw these creatures nursing their young with such tenderness, they mistook them for the mystical mythological figures of mermaids, hence the title of this article.

Today it is an endangered species due to the invasion of its environment by man.

I look forward to one day living in peace with this and other beings who, because they cannot communicate like we did, feel the same pain when they die of suffocation trapped in the nets or are victims of a harpoon.

The place was so beautiful that at the end of the tour I remembered a phrase by Victor Hugo that says; It is incredible that nature speaks and the human being does not listen.
