Pitahaya

It is the fruit of the columnar cactus. It is rich in fiber and vitamin C and B. Also is known as “dragon fruit”; it looks like a fireball with the size of a grapefruit. It has a white flesh with tiny black edible seeds, very similar to Kiwi. The flesh is soft and refreshing and even a little crunchy. It

is not very sweet, actually has a slight acidity. To serve; the fruit is cutted in the middle and carefully the white flesh is removed in one piece with a big spoon. Cut the flesh into cubes and then; put it into the hollow halves which function as a bowls. Are you planning a party? To liven up your “hors d’oeuvres”. Serve small pieces of pitaya and other fruits united with toothpicks, organize the different pieces on a plate.
