April 2012 Northeast Region News

So far the spring season has simply been a continuation of our busy winter.

Our first trip out was to Oak Creek in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania for the 2nd Annual Chapter Leader Summit. We had a great time with our region leaders and a few Heartland friends. Those camping for the weekend included John & Deb Bylinski, Greg & Beth Dean, Mike & Ann Walker, John & Mary Ann Proto, Jim & Colleen Marigliano and Jim & Geri Reyes. We were visited on Friday by Glenn and Fran Schaaf who were camping in the area. We also had a visit on Saturday from Paul and Vicky Lopiccolo who were going through HOC withdrawl! The leaders held a 2013 planning meeting on Friday attended by John & Deb, Greg & Beth (NY), Mike & Ann (MD), Cheryl & Jim Horst (DE) and Nona Gruner (PA). Naturally, there was some eating to do and we opted for a group photo after dinner at the Shady Maple.

In addition to the Shady Maple there was a home-style dinner at the Plain and Fancy Farm Restaurant and an Easter Sunday ham and pot luck feast. There were a few campfires before the winds set in and an Easter Egg Pluck for a couple of the new Northeast Region coffee cups. Congratulations to the winners! Please remember that Easter weekend is the Annual Northeast Chapter Leaders Summit and you all are invited to camp with us where ever we are for the weekend. We will be holding this event in the Lancaster area again next year so please plan come and join us as you are all welcome!

All state level rallies in the region have been announced and planning is well underway! Please try to attend at least one of these events this year. If you have not been to a HOC Rally, once you do you will be pleasantly surprised with the company and the events. Our chapter leaders put on some really nice rallies and their hard work always gives dividends repaid by the smiles on your faces. When you attend one rally you will then become a member of “Rally-holics”. Rally-holics meetings are held where ever we happen to congregate for the weekend. Be it at a scheduled rally or an informal camp-out, you will truly enjoy your Heartland product more once you have experienced the friendship that attending a rally will foster.

After that date there may or may not be sites available with the group. If you are on the fence about attending this rally, please give it some serious consideration now. We would like to have all of our members sited together except for Jim Beletti. Jim will be flying in for this event and will be leaving his Landmark at home! We will do what ever we can to make his stay in his rental quarters a pleasant one. We are pleased that he will be on hand when we make history. This will be an event chock full of activities on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Our draft agenda is nearing completion but here are some highlights we think you will be interested in.
