HEART OF YOGA Travelling through India from north to south, this retreat focuses on your inner journey and personal practice as we experience the culture and spirit of India; the birthplace of Yoga. If India has been calling you we would be honoured to share this land where the sacred is woven into the fabric of everyday life. This unique retreat will blend daily yoga, breath, mantra and meditation practice, wisdom sessions and travel to sacred sites balanced with time for contemplation and the space to absorb the powerful places on our itinerary. We have designed this retreat for longtime practitioners and newer students alike to retrace the history of Hatha Yoga and deepen their practice whilst experiencing traditional practices that will awaken your most potent experience of Yoga. Josh and Irene have been returning to India yearly and have formed a deep bond with the land and its people. Join them as they retrace the origins of Yoga and share with you the most powerful places and masters who they have encountered and share with you the power of this land, its culture and its people.

North:

15th Oct evening: Arrive Rishikesh (North India) - Evening Kirtan and asana practice w Wisdom and knowledge session Day 2: Silent day - Morning Yoga session - Followed by Ganga puja - Excursion to top of shiva temple - exploration and journaling - Free time to wander and explore - Afternoon / evening Yagya Day 3: Vasista Gopa + Yagya Day 4: Maharishi Ashram Day 5: Anandamayi ma samadhi site Day 6: Aryuveda Spa Day Day 7: Flight to Chennai

South: Transfer to Boolenath shiva temple, Tiruvanamanali - day hike. Ramana Transfer to Narayani Ashram 26th - Final day Transfer back to Chennai Please let me know if you have any more questions.


FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

WHEN WILL THE RETREAT BEGIN AND END? The retreat will begin with dinner on October 15th and ends with breakfast on 26h October 2019.

WHAT IS THE DEPOSIT & IS IT REFUNDABLE? The deposit is $500, and it is non-refundable and cannot be transferred to other trainings.

WHICH AIRPORT SHOULD I FLY INTO AND OUT OF? Option 1: Fly into Delhi, and arrange a connecting flight to Dheradun Airport Option 2: Fly into Mumbai, and arrange a connecting flight to Dheradun Airport Option 1: Fly out of Chennai airport. Option 2: Fly from Chennai to Delhi or Mumbai and fly internationally from there

WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE AND DEPART? Ideally we always reccomend for people to have as many days possible to land and arrive in India to save themselves from jet lag and allow time to acclimatise to the land. It’s always nice to give yourself 1 or 2 days afterwards to explore the area before you depart. Of course this is dependant on what time constraints you have.

HOW DO I GET FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE ACCOMMODATIONS (and back)? The hotel will arrange a taxi for you. Please provide them with your flight arrival information and they will organise a pick up for you. *This is additionally charged at 1800INR

DO I NEED A VISA? Yes. You will need to coordinate your visa in advance of travel. India no longer has a Visa on Arrival system. They have replaced it with an e-Visa system, which is available to travelers from many countries. Details can be found on the Indian e-Tourist Visa website. You can submit your e-visa request 120 days before you travel and it must be done at least 4 days before travel. In other words, if you were arriving India on December 28, the earliest you could get an e-visa is August 30 and the latest is December 24. We highly recommend starting the process on August 30 or in September.

HOW DO I EXCHANGE MY MONEY? You can exchange currency at the airport. In addition, if you have an ATM card that does not charge a fee for currency exchange, you will additional options. Check with your bank to confirm this.
