On the Move Women in Business help fund Amber Alert

Body by Me opens in Bountiful

BOUNTIFUL — A fitness center catering to families has recently opened at 145 S. Main St. in Bountiful. Known as Body by Me, the facility is operated by partners Andrea Newbould and Torri Smith, whose goal is to provide a wide range of options, including classes not offered by other area gyms. “For example, we offer plus-size fitness classes for larger people, and we offer kids classes for children age 3 and up,” Newbould said. “We really want to promote being healthy as a family. My partner and I have been in the fitness industry for years teaching classes, and we have heard so many things about what members want and don’t want.” In addition to the above, Body by Me offers pilates, yoga and teen classes, which makes it possible for kids and their parents to work out in different classes at the same time. Drills and skills programs even offer cardio training, smaller weights, resistance bands and ball workouts for kids from age 3-16, teaching youth to use them correctly for their specific ages. Body by Me offers three levels of services: (1) unlimited monthly classes for a set monthly price, (2) smaller classes with nutrition training and body fat testing, for a cost that averages about $9-$10 per class, and (3) one-on-one individual training. There is even a family pass for four. The company does not require longterm contracts.

Three Little Monkeys adds a location

WEST BOUNTIFUL — Three Little Monkeys, a children’s toy, game and book store, has recently opened at The Commons in West Bountiful, next to Paradise Bakery. The new store is in addition to the company’s existing store, which has operated in Fruit Heights for the past year. In addition to offering a wide selection of games, toys and books, the new store seeks to offer fun activities for children. Free Storytime sessions are conducted every Wednesday and Thursday mornings at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. Storytime activities include reading books and singing songs – plus doing a craft tied to a different theme each week. The story also offers Kidivities each Tuesday at 11 a.m. for children age 3-6, and again at 4 p.m. for children age 7 and up. Company officials say the new store is operated by “fun staff’ and offers “super awesome” products for children of all ages.

Spring Mobile to aid Toys for Tots

WEST BOUNTIFUL — Spring Mobile, the Utahbased retailer of AT&T wireless phones, has announced today that their 36 Utah locations will serve as donation drop-off points for the annual Toys for Tots drive. In South Davis, Spring Mobile’s store is located at The Commons in West Bountiful. New and unwrapped toys will be accepted at Spring Mobile locations until Dec. 23. Each person donating a toy at Spring Mobile store locations will receive a $10 Spring Mobile gift card. “Giving back to the community is a core mission for all of us at Spring. I hope that’s an attitude that our customers appreciate in our stores, every day,” said Jason Ellis, Spring Mobile CEO.“We’re committed to the many families and children who benefit from Toys for Tots in Utah. We hope we can make a difference this holiday season.”

LAYTON — The memory of Rachael Runyan is still inspiring Utahns to help abducted children. Elaine Runyan-Simmons, a Layton businesswoman and the mother of the 3-year-old girl who was abducted and murdered in Sunset in 1982, asked the Davis County Chamber of Commerce Women in Business to honor her daughter by raising money for the Utah AMBER Alert Plan, and they responded. Women in Business raised $6,605—the entire 2010 budget for the Utah AMBER Alert Plan. Last year the organization raised $5,230 — the entire 2009 budget for Utah’s AMBER Alert. “Most people don’t realize that Utah’s AMBER Alert Plan is not supported by taxes but is a labor of love by volunteers and supporters,” said Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff. “My heartfelt thanks goes out to Elaine Runyan-Simmons and the Women in Business for giving every child a fighting chance to survive an abduction.” Women in Business raised the money this year at the sold-out “Come As You Aren’t Party” on Oct. 24. The event featured a dinner, silent auction, comedy from Keith Stubbs, music by Road Bound and a slide show about AMBER Alerts featuring pictures of Rachael Runyan. “The Women in Business gave their hearts for the cause,” said Runyan-Simmons. “I am proud to serve on the committee with them and for their support of this worthy cause. We will work tirelessly to make our state safe for our children. We do

not want to lose another child to abduction.” Runyan-Simmons is on the Women in Business Board and a member of the Utah AMBER Alert Advisory Committee. The Utah Attorney General’s Office coordinates the state’s AMBER Alert Plan

but it takes volunteers from law enforcement, broadcasting, transportation and the general public to make sure the system runs effectively. The donation will be used to pay for training and training materials. The State Legislature passed a law so donors to the Utah
