Gossip
Café
is
a
twisted
version
of
Harvey
Daniel’s
literature
circle
 phenomenon.
It
allows
students
to
“gossip”
about
various
literary
or
content
area
 text
with
their
peers,
while
enhancing
their
reading
and
writing
skills.
Practical
 content
area
literacy
strategies
are
implemented
to
activate
prior
knowledge,
 monitor
comprehension,
generate
questions,
and
ultimately
evoke
higher
order
 thinking.
