FY 2011-12 Parking Fees and Estimated Fees for FY 2012-13
Following the distribution of my April 6, 2011, letter asking for your suggestions and comments about the proposed FY 2011-12 parking fees, we received several comments and inquiries about the services offered by Transportation. Your feedback plays an important role in helping us tailor parking and transportation programs to address the needs of the campus community. The parking fees to be implemented effective January 1, 2012, except for those individuals for whom the University is engaged in collective bargaining negotiations, and the estimated increases for FY 2012-13 are shown below. (DP) permits are priced at the Yellow permit rate, but have the full mobility privileges of X permits. July 1, 2011.
As mentioned in the April 6 letter, as part of UCLA’s ongoing commitment to promote alternative transportation, in February of this year Bruin Commuter Park (BCP) replaced the RideCard program for those who utilize alternative transportation to commute to work or school. BCP allows faculty and staff alternative mode commuters who present their valid University ID (BruinCard) to a parking kiosk attendant to purchase up to 40 daily parking permits (per fiscal year) for the discounted price of $5 per day, for those occasions when they need to drive alone to campus. UCLA encourages and supports all forms of ridesharing because doing so enhances the quality of life for students, staff, and faculty, as well as the community, and is critical in the campus’ effort to reduce traffic, improve the environment, and facilitate compliance with regulatory requirements. UCLA Transportation has partnered with Zimride to deliver free carpool ridematching services. Use Zimride to find one-time rides or create a carpool with fellow Bruins by logging on to www.zimride.com/ucla. For more information about www.transportation.ucla.edu.
