Welcome to our Parish

About our Church

Join a Ministry!

Welcome to St. Marguerite d’Youville Parish! Our goal is to provide an environment where you can grow and develop on your faith journey.

St. Marguerite d’Youville Parish has flourished since its humble beginnings on the First Sunday of Advent in November 1992 with just 80 households. For eleven years, we celebrated our Masses at St. John Bosco School. But it was always our goal as our Parish family grew to build and create a new, larger, permanent home.

It’s easy to become an active member of the parish because of our wide variety of ministries! Find one that suits you for volunteering and participating in social gatherings.

We try hard to preserve the family spirit in our parish. There are many opportunities for meeting and making friends and for offering your service to one another. Through Baptism, we become God’s sons and daughters, brothers and sisters to each other in Christ. In fact, we feel blessed to have a very active spirit-filled community here at St. Marguerite d’Youville. May your faith flourish and may you always feel welcome and at home here. “All are welcome in this Place!” Yours in Christ, Fr. Peter Marr Pastor

In April 2003, we moved into a new church. Today we have over 3,800 registered households - twice as many as when we began construction of the church. The parish now serves six elementary schools and shares in meeting the needs of two secondary schools, two seniors’ residences and Brampton Civic Hospital. Today, there are over 30 distinct ministries at St. Marguerite d’Youville. We invite you to join our vibrant community of welcome and service, reaching out “through prayer and active participation within our parish, our schools, our community, and beyond”. Please speak to a member of the Welcoming Ministry, one of our parish priests, or ask the Parish Office Staff about how you can participate in parish life. Most importantly, this is a place of caring and support. If we can be of assistance to you, please do not hesitate to contact us at the Parish Office any time.

Getting Involved Interested in one of the ministries listed above? We invite you to visit or call the parish office to find out more about how you can help contribute to the life of St. Marguerite d’Youville Parish.

Parish Mission Statement Marguerite d’Youville believed in the guidance and loving involvement of God in her life. This enabled her to become God’s helping hands in the lives of others. In this same spirit, the parishioners of St. Marguerite d’Youville, nourished by Word and Sacrament are called by God to foster a community of welcome and service. In union with Christ, we reach out through prayer and active participation within our parish, our schools, our community, and beyond. We offer our gifts and talents to everyone in need and respond in faith to the challenges of our ever-changing world.

Growing Together: Capital Campaign Along with our beautiful church came a challenge that is not at all insurmountable. When the church was built, the Parish benefited from a financial agreement with the Archdiocese in the form of a loan. This agreement obliges the Parish to retire the debt over a 15-year period. Our parishioners are currently actively engaged in a Capital Campaign. As you settle in to our parish, you may choose to assist us in this endeavour in whatever ways you can, and it will be greatly appreciated. You can learn more from a Welcoming Representative, by contacting the Parish Office, or by obtaining an information package.

Our Youth Ministry: A Place for Youth From eighth-grade students looking for Confirmation Service Project hours to high school students seeking 40 hours, or just helpful, active young people, there are always service projects for youth involvement within the parish community. Contact the Youth Ministry Coordinator through the Parish Office to sign up. Visit our Youth Ministry website for Service Opportunities, Parish Information and News, Prayers and Poems, Social Gatherings, Pre-Teen Faith, Confirmation and Communion Information and more.

Our Parish Logo Developed in 2008 by parishioners Ralph and Iwona Bayer, the logo was inspired by our Oculus. The cross symbolizes faith, guidance, sacraments, our prayers and love for each other. The circle represents eternity without beginning and without end, connecting the community together in the love of God. The doves symbolize parishioners and their pilgrimage into the light of God by serving everyone in need. The rays symbolize the light of Christ’s love in the Eucharist radiating through his people, the Church, with warmth and hospitality to others.
