fter graduating from high school, Luray local Kristie Brown wasn’t sure what job she wanted to pursue.
At her mother’s suggestion, she looked into becoming a medical technician, and decided it was as good a choice as any. “At the time, the medical field was a safe field,” she remarked. After graduating from Rockingham Memorial Hospital’s School of Radiological Technology in 1995, Brown embarked on a 20-year career as an X-ray technician. Though it was never her dream job, Brown says she enjoyed certain aspects, such as helping patients.
