This course focuses on the design, configuration, troubleshooting and operation of IP (Internet Protocol) telephony technology to exchange voice. A comprehensive overview of packet telephony technologies including signaling, call control and voice quality with a particular emphasis on real world applications and skills is covered. Term hours: 16–72 lecture and 48–216 laboratory TBA. This variable unit, open entry/open exit course with flexible hours consists of basic and advanced text editing performed using Microsoft Word. Unit credit may range from 1 to 4 units in any given semester. Units may be increased or decreased no later than the withdrawal deadline of the course. Only upon successful completion of the first unit of instruction will the student be eligible for the second unit of credit for the semester. Knowledge of keyboarding is recommended.
