Fashion B Yearbook Final Boards

COVER DESIGN The main theme throughout book was the idea of cuts and folds to suggest the way garments are created within fashion design and also the idea of the students producing ‘cutting edge’ work.

The main idea for the cover was based on my design of the coloured folds combined with Kim’s layout of the type.

LAYOUTS Kim and I created a grid and 4 layout designs which would be suitable for all images. Due to the nature of fashion photoshoots we figured most of the images would be full length portrait images and so created layouts to mainly suit these.

TYPE Kim and I decided on a system of the type running down the edges of the book. This allowed plenty of room for images to sit and give a clean and tidy layout. The names running down the right hand pages also allows readers to flick through the book quickly if looking for a particular student page.

BREAKER SPREADS The book contained 38 students in total so to split the pages up Becky designed a spread which featured images of the students which were to follow.

To go along with the colour scheme all the breaker spreads were created as monotone images. There were four breaker spreads throughout the book, above shows the one I created.
