Intro to Machine Sewing
Ages 12 and over NEW LCC (Room 2) Entry C Fall in love with the Art of Sewing. Do you need a refresher course? Do you want to sew, but have no prior experience? Take the frustration out and put the fun in! Learn the following: threading the machine, winding the bobbin, straight stitch and zigzag, threads, needles, fabric types, necessary tools, rotary cutting, basics of pattern reading, seams, hems and more. Additional supplies are needed for this class; the list will be emailed to you by the instructor. Bring your machine and user manual to class. Teens are encouraged to bring their friends and start pick-up games. Individuals can purchase a season pass or pay a daily rate. Participants MUST sign a waiver. Pay at the door. Sewing 201 “I Love Lucy” Apron
Ages 12 and over NEW LCC (Bi-Centennial Room) Entry C Kiss the cook in her fashionable apron and learn about fusible appliqués, hems, bias tape and pattern reading. Lucy would be so proud of you! You must be able to thread your machine, wind bobbin and sew a straight line. Class is limited to four students per class. Overnight Lock-In at Enchanted Castle
Ages 12-16 Lombard, IL Stay up all night riding bumper cars, playing mini-golf and hanging in the kid’s quest area. We will have three hours of unlimited Go Karts and Laser Tag. At midnight, an all-you-can-eat pizza and pop buffet will be served. Each person will receive 60 game tokens and have a continental breakfast buffet in the morning. Lock-in will be with other park districts. Bring spending money for additional snacks and game tokens. We will transfer onto a bus at the Tinley Park Park District. Registration is NOW being taken. Frozen Film Festival
NEW Ages 10 and over Westmont, IL If you are a budding filmmaker and would like to have your movie screened by professionals, win prizes and have your film played on TV, then sign up for this! Thirty minute or less comedic and/or dramatic film submissions will be judged on quality of material, film making skill and overall talent, originality, script writing and audience response.
