Christ the King Catholic School

TO LIVE AND TEACH THE CATHOLIC DOCTRINES AND VALUES AND TO PROVIDE A QUALITY ACADEMIC PROGRAM THROUGH A LOVING, CATHOLIC ATMOSPHERE.

Christ the King School is a Catholic institution committed to the teaching of Catholic doctrines and Christian values and dedicated to providing a quality academic program. The school recognizes the rights of individuals as children of God deserving honor and respect, and works toward the following goals and objectives with the involvement and cooperation of the students’ parents or guardians.

To provide Christ the King students a wellrounded academic program with Catholic fundamentals as its core.

To provide quality education to all those children in the parish who desire to take advantage of such an opportunity.

To instill a positive attitude towards the learning process while providing students with the opportunity to achieve academic excellence.

To strongly promote and recognize Christian values and moral behavior.

To promote unity, love, respect and understanding among all people regardless of race, religion or socioeconomic group.

To foster positive self-esteem and mature responsible behavior with the purpose of arriving at the fullness of Christian life.

To encourage teachers to strengthen their Christian commitment and professional growth.

Christ the King Catholic School

Christ the King Catholic School opened in August of 1986 with 200 students.

The original building consisted of 11 classrooms, a media center, an administrative area and a teacher work area.

The school opened with two classes of Kindergarten through 3rd grade, one 4th grade class and a combined 5th and 6th grade class.

restructured and now serves as a large art room. Also in 1998, the library was expanded to twice its original size. 

Christ the King purchased the Ministries Building in 2004. The building now houses our Pre-Kindergarten, Eckert Center, meeting rooms and multiple administrative offices.

In 2014 new administrative offices were added. The former office area was reconstructed to a Spanish classroom and Learning Assistance Center.

Also in 2014 a state-of-the-art Safe Room that holds over 800 people was constructed.

The faculty consisted of 10 teachers, a librarian, a secretary and a principal.

The next school year an art room, computer lab, and 12 more classrooms were added to the unfinished upstairs portion of the original building.

In 1989 a Jr. High wing was added. It consisted of 6 classrooms, a fully-equipped science lab, a computer center, an assistant principal’s office and a conference room.

A gymnasium complex was completed in 1994.

WHO WE ARE

The faculty and staff at Christ the King Catholic School are made up of 50 exceptional men and women. The classroom teachers total 32 and are all practicing Catholics. In addition, we have a full time art teacher, librarian, physical education instructor, music teacher, Spanish teacher, two part-time computer teachers, a learning assistance director and a school nurse.

Kathy House, Principal Mrs. House has been at Christ the King Catholic School since it opened in 1986 and has served as Principal since 1994. Prior to being Principal, Mrs. House served as Assistant Principal for 2 years and as Kindergarten teacher for 8 years. Mrs. House has recently been awarded the “Lead, Learn, Proclaim Award� in recognition of excellence and distinguished service in Catholic School education.

Paige Coppola, Assistant Principal Mrs. Coppola has been at Christ the King Catholic School since 1999 and has served as Assistant Principal since 2013. Prior to becoming Assistant Principal, Mrs. Coppola taught Jr. High Literature and Grammar for 7 years and 6th grade for 6 years.

Msgr. Francis I. Malone, Pastor Msgr. Malone has been Pastor of Christ the King Church and School since 2002 and has been a priest in the Diocese of Little Rock since 1977. Msgr. Malone was awarded the National Catholic Educators Association Distinguished Pastor Award in 2005 for his outstanding support to Catholic elementary education.

At Christ the King Catholic School, the safety and security of all students, faculty and staff is of utmost importance. Every reasonable measure has been taken to ensure that Christ the King School is a safe and secure place to learn and work. Measures designed to protect our school community include: 
