Pilgrimage to the Holy Land: Margaret Shafer '01 reflects Margaret Shafer '01 and her mother Ellen (Villa Duchesne '58 and Manhattanville '62) went on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land with James Martin, SJ. The group had a blog with daily videos and reflections, an excerpt of day 6 of the trip writtin by Margaret is below: "Today, one of our final days in Jerusalem, aptly closed with a small group of us visiting the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Jim pointed out the spot where Mary stood as she watched her son on a cross. As we prayed there I felt her presence and strength, just as I do each year in Lourdes.

An overwhelming sense of joy and gratitude overcame me as I left the church, as I knew I could leave this place and steps away had my own tower of strength, my mother, to hear about my experience." To read more about their trip click here.
