Genevieve Irwin '08 lives out Goal Three through storytelling Throughout the month of March, Genevieve Irwin '08 will lead gallery talks, teach students about creative writing and illustration, and display her graduate school thesis, a nonfiction children's book telling the story of an endangered tiger cub named Zolushka. The gallery exhibit focuses on her children's book Zolushka and features her sketches and final illustrations, as well as the reference photographs she used while creating her art. The exhibit will continue until April 7 and is open for alumnae to view. Genevieve Irwin '08 was recently featured in the King Street Chronicle and the Greenwich Time.

Society Names Director of Mission Communications On March 6, Claire Lorentzen '06 was appointed as the Director of Mission Communications for the Society of the Sacred Heart. Claire will work for the Head of Conference to implement the vision and plans of the Conference of Sacred Heart Education focused on education to mission. Claire graduated from Stanford University and Yale Divinity School. She has the experience and expertise to help engage Sacred Heart educators in an ever-widening circle, building bridges for those communicating values of the Goals and Criteria while responding to the changing needs of the emerging future.


Give from the Heart!

Thanks to the support of our alumnae, we exceeded the $10,000 goal for our first ever Give from the Heart and triggered the $1848 challenge from the Alumnae Board for a grand total of: $15,828.14 raised! Thank you to the 172 alumnae, from 4 countries and 17 states, who participated in this event to raise money for financial aid.

Newly published author, Caroline Kitchener '10, holds workshop at the eighth annual Greenwich Writer's Festival In February, Caroline Kitchener '10 made an author appearance at the Greenwich Writer's Festival, an event co-sponsored by Sacred Heart, Greenwich Academy and the Brunswick School. Here she gave a journalistic workshop in which she "shared her experiences venturing into journalism after graduating from Sacred Heart. A graduate of Princeton University, Ms. Kitchener was ultimately drawn to pursue and explore truth through journalism." Read more about her appearance here. Caroline's book, "Post Grad: Five Women and Their First Year Out of College" shadows four of her female classmates, interviewing them as they started to navigate the murky waters of post-collegiate life. Alumnae Barre Class

On February 28, our New York City alumnae, along with alumnae from Academy of the Sacred Heart (Bloomfield Hills, MI), came together for our first ever Alumnae Pure Barre class. Thanks to everyone who joined us!

In Memoriam Judith Hegarty, former faculty member Judith Mulvany Hegarty, age 77, passed on February 21, 2017 at Indian River Estates in Vero Beach. A loving and caring wife, mother and sister, Judy lived in Greenwich, CT for 55 years before moving to Vero Beach in 1995. Click here to view the obituary.
