The Schwinn Vestige is made from natural Flax fibers that are 100% bio-degradable. This special frame material, combined with a new proprietary water-based paint solution, is revolutionary for the bicycle industry. Flax fibers have similar properties to carbon, often used in high performance bikes, but with a drastically different footprint. LED lights, installed inside the frame to highlight its unique construction, are powered by a dynamo hub, allowing the bike to “glow” without batteries. This design feature showcases the beauty of the translucent flax fiber while making the bike safer for urban riding. The Vestige’s fenders and grips are made from natural bamboo, the tires feature a new sustainable solution with a recyclable rubber insert, the saddle has a custom carved design and the drivetrain is a minimalistic but functional 9-speed Shimano.
