Embolden your entrepreneurial spirit with the ENTREPRENEUR SCHOLAR PROGRAM. This program is a competitive three-semester course load that challenges students to create and launch a business venture. You and your cohort will travel the globe to meet entrepreneurs to tour social and business ventures to expand your entrepreneurial mindset and skillset. The connections and skills acquired as an Entrepreneur Scholar are PRICELESS.

EXTENDING THE LINK
TRIINK
Think globally, act locally. Extending the link (ETL) is a documentary film production team focused on highlighting social and economic issues on a global and local scale. Andrea Carrow Morsching (E-4) and her partners Nate Ptacek and David Slifka launched their venture following their CSB/SJU semester abroad in Guatemala. Since 2007, ETL production teams engage in social entrepreneurial experiences through research, global travel, film production and marketing to highlight a diverse array of topics from fair trade coffee in Guatemala to the launch of their 12th documentary “Bayt Jadeed: Seeking Home” a narrative focused on the themes of home and community from individuals migrating from their country of origin and currently residing in Germany and Minnesota. These documentaries provideinspiration to apply knowledge and foster understanding to inspire change on a global and local scale.
Joe Caughey ’21 and Bardia Bijani Aval ’21, co-founders of TRIINK Tools LLC, are on a mission to bring the world the ultimate multifunctional tools. Their first product The Pickaxe - is a multifunctional drinking tool. The venture has given Caughey and Bijani Aval prime access to the legendary Johnnie/ Bennie network “We’re using the resources of the school and alumni, everything from 3D printing on campus to attorneys provided through alumni mentors. Every bit of this process has been facilitated by the McNeely Entrepreneurship Center,” Caughey said. TRIINK plans to continue their humble startup beyond just being an E-Scholar venture. They want to immediately expand their business to include other multi-tools for activities like boating, fishing, and camping.

Additional course fees are assessed each semester to assist with business travel expenses. The “10 for 10 Scholarship Pool” is available to assist to offset the course fees with scholarships ranging from 25-75% of program costs depending on financial need.
