Providing opportunities for the Victorian cricket community to thrive

About the Foundation The Cricket Victoria Foundation serves as the philanthropic centre of Cricket Victoria, enabling us to build on our long-term relationships with passionate fans of Victorian cricket, corporate partners, supporters, and the wider community. All funds raised through the Foundation are invested in community programs linked to the Foundation’s three pillars of support:

Accessible Participation Providing accessible participation and volunteer opportunities across Victorian cricket.

Our Community Delivering cricket opportunities for culturally diverse communities across Victoria.

Women and Girls Driving growth and opportunity for women and girls in cricket across Victoria.

The Cricket Victoria Foundation will make a difference in areas including accessibility, increasing cricket and education opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, supporting the growth of women and girls’ cricket and additional development programs both on and off field.

A message from Cricket Victoria Foundation Chair Paul Gardner AM This is a game I love, and the Foundation will provide an incredible opportunity to contribute to the lives of others in a really positive way. Cricket holds a special place in the hearts of so many of us. It’s synonymous with summer and our families. Through our work at the Foundation, we want to bring the game to people who may not have had those opportunities before. I invite you to invest in a program that, in time, will deliver incredible participation, health and wellbeing outcomes for beneficiaries of the Foundation.

Pillar 1 Accessible Participation Melbourne Deaf, Blind and All Abilities Cricket Associations One in six Australians are impacted by hearing loss, 90,000 Victorians are blind or vision impaired and almost 20% of the Victorian population have a disability. Pillar 2 Our Community Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Scholarships Melbourne Cricket Education Academy First Nations people are underrepresented in cricket, and a tertiary education scholarship will provide an important educational pathway for young people, plus a connection to cricket. Students will take their experience back to their communities, building capability at an individual level and visibility of training and education opportunities in cricket for First Nations people. In the first phase of Cricket Victoria Foundation programs, Our Community will focus on Aboriginal Scholarships. In the years ahead we will extend our focus to include the many cultural and linguistically diverse groups in our community. Assist the funding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Scholarships at the Melbourne Cricket Education Academy. A partnership between Cricket Victoria and RMIT University.

Pillar 3 Women and Girls Girls’ Leadership Program Women and girls remain underrepresented at all levels in cricket (in comparison to the percentage of overall population). The Girls Leadership Program is a legacy program whose purpose is to provide leadership skills, coaching and training for young women (14-16 years old) to engage with cricket as future leaders, captains, coaches, future administrators, and volunteers. This program exists to support and empower girls and young women with the capabilities, mindset, confidence, and life skills to lead themselves and others. As the Cricket Victoria Foundation grows, we will identify further opportunities to provide even more support for the growth of women’s and girls’ cricket right across Victoria.
