Static: a healing practice where you move in and out of poses that are held for a certain number of breath cycles, directing attention toward the breath, areas of the body, or both. The practice affects the nervous system by increasing blood flow and nervous system activity in the “area of awareness” and benefits the Endocrine system by pressurizing the glands, affecting secretion of hormones, making the glands stronger, and balancing the hormones. This in turn affect every other organ and metabolism. Practice of Static poses results in secretion of endorphins~ the natural pain killers those bring positive state of well-being. Asanas are practiced compassionately in a heated room. Expect joint freeing, then a series of forward bends, back bends, twists, inversions and standing balancing poses. It’s hard to be the King. You have to make all the decisions, order everyone around, get waited on hand and foot. Wait a minute! That sounds AWESOME! He had everything he could want. A court full of zany characters, an army of personal body guards and a forest full of talking and singing animals! Of these animals none was more special than the legendary Nightingale. Little did the King know that this bird would change his life forever.
